That's twice now, what's up? if you don't like him then don't read his blog post, but chill the ***bleep*** out. This dude adds more value to the SL experience than 99.9% of these forum posters -- including you and me.
  4. Would you pay $3.00 an hour for pixel sex on your Iphone? I'm sure some men/women have/are paid/paying exponentially more! Why should LL be any different when it comes to reaping profit from your desires.
  5. Theresa Tennyson wrote:. This doesn't make sense for people who spend large amounts of money up-front for hardware and expect data to be free or cheap, but many people now are using a completely different financial model - "free" hardware replaced from time to time by a provider as part of a comparatively expensive monthly data service. There are people asking how they can run SL on tablets, etc. pretty frequently in Answers and the tech forums. Iphones? Ipads? $3.00 an hour -- Lol, Lassie. Lol.
  6. The absolute last thing I want is access in-world when I am not at home (that's why it's called real life - I have one.) Sure I read and post to the forum or feed while I'm idling away time in the subway or on a bus, but ....
  7. Perrie Juran wrote: If your goal was to lose credibility you've done an excellent job of it Daniel. I don't share your sentiments in the least. Don't shoot the messenger. And to Daniel it is exciting, good for him. If you have some balls then write these words in whose direction they belong, and you know who that is.
  8. This is great news! Thanks Ebbe. Only a couple of weeks and already Mr. Ebbe is rolling out new features. He must have his programmers working OT. Or was this a Rod legacy? PS Who is doing customer support, LL or onlive? At $3 an hour perhaps LL expects us forum people to handle the myriad of questions coming our way, and for $0 an hour. /waits for the new sub-forum 'Mobile SL' to open. I guess that's what Ebbe meant by us seeing more or the Linden's on SLF.
  9. Penguin dumplings with a little blood and cod-liver oil for dunking ... yummy.
  10. I use several i7 Haswell 16gb ram laptops. They all implement Intel HD4600 integrated graphics. I get some, imo, great fps in-world ... I can get ~50 in ultra. If fps are how you benchmark your in-world experience then it's all good. PS The best of my benchmarks is from a machine running openSuse. Windows may produce better results.
  11. 1) LL is releasing a Swedish only version of jira. 2) LL is releasing a Swedish only version of the viewer. or 3) Both of the above.

  13. Tip-tappy? Wily-nily? Both in one thread .... where are the forum mods when needed?

I'm not saying that all regulation is always bad, but most of the time, people can't see or even anticipate the negative consequences of regulations. I agree with both your statements highlighted. However, bitcoin is a different animal (so to speak.) Why? Because I don't want another Bernie Madoff managing my investments. How profitable would a Nigerian Exchange be at pricing bitcoin at $5000USD and comes with all the promises of Mt. Gox? Sure financial rewards can be had .... show me one? Buyer beware! I'll point out that Bernie did this in a highly regulated market, while dozens of people were complaining to the authorities. They did nothing until it had already collapsed and he couldn't pay any1 anymore. Now, imagine something similar happening with bitcoins. Fraud is fraud and can be prosecuted. No extra regulation needed. Even if you could not sue, you complain on the internet, where every1 else can see it. You make a Youtube video saying this bum scammed me, and create a hash tag. That will do more than government did about Bernie. Medhue, we are saying the same thing just saying it differently. My point is that there are better *bets* for the taking in the regulated markets. Why the high risk no reward payout? I can/do manage my investment better. Imo, bitcoin is a buy at 1USD not 1000USD. (convert to Euro's if you so choose.)

  22. Dresden Ceriano wrote: Ebbe Linden wrote: Nobody knows what may happen in the future. But we have no intent to steal your stuff. I can imagine scary scenarios that are more likely to happen, that none us have control over, that would concern me more. I don't see how SL as we know it could be successful if we started to steal your stuff. I certainly don't see a business model based on stealing stuff that could last very long...so I don't really see the logic in this conversation. It sounds scary to some of you but how it could really become a real problem I don't really know. For me, is not that I believe that Linden Lab will steal my stuffs... the problem lies in the fact that most people rely on various third party templets, models and textures that have End User License Agreements which do not allow them the ability to grant Linden Lab the licensing rights which the Terms of Service now requires. This is why CG Textures has disallowed the use of their textures in Second Life (link). But, what makes matters worse is that even textures bought in Second Life are subject to the same problem unless they're sold with an almost unlimited EULA, which most are not. This situation will either cause people to stop being able to create content or resort to creating content with elements which they shouldn't be using according to the ToS as it now reads. The only real way around this is to create everything yourself, which, IMHO, goes against the spirit of working together, which was fundamental in helping to make SL the wonderful place that it is now. I really don't want to see that creative, interactive process stifled over some legalese. ...Dres Dres I am not going to even attempt to speak for Ebbe here, but much of what you wrote about he addressed as *the edge*. Stifling? I can't agree with these words. Sometimes the most prohibitive of contracts for employees/scientists/chemists/engineers/designers have led to brilliance. How many greats without a familiar name did Mr. Edison employ? Of course I could go on an on, but why? I think people will create and interact to the best of their ability/skill/talent or brilliance regardless of the ToS! I see so much beauty and brilliance inworld .... no stifling whatsoever.
