I have become very lonely in SL. Tried to leave this virtual world so many times, but RL is very limited and SL is, sadly to admit it, my social life. Everyone thinks I am so confident and happy, but they can't see the ghost inside the shell. My nature is optimism, hope and inspiration and those things feel gone. I want it back!

How can I see when I made a report?

Update, as I keep digging into this. The object was on another sim, and the slurl directed me to a Linden Premium Home parcel. Estate owned by Governor Linden. Does anyone know what kind of law enforcement I can report this to? I live in Denmark, LL is in the US.

I reported recently a brand new account that somehow sends links to strangers via some object called "." just a dot. This appears in the public chat, like any other object message. The message has a link that reads like something you don't want to know. Few minutes ago, as of writing, this <censored rant> account sends this again!! Are we supposed to be exposed to what looks like sharing of child porn, or will you do something about this, as of right now?!? I think we need to get this on the news or something to get LL to get to work. Maybe some public scandal will get them to actually act! In their bio it simply says: "Scripted account Can not respond to messages in SL" So yeah, it sure looks like pedos have found a way to force this filth upon anyone!!! Please excuse me while I go and throw up while considering if SL is worth it.

Before you start explaining syncing audio, let’s imagine the following is possible: In RL, I start an audio stream, that runs together with a midi file that is used to trigger events for facial expressions. These triggers somehow go into a HUD in SL, that reads this information and triggers the actual facial expressions. I bring up RLV because there is some RLV wardrobe that can be used from a web interface. The simple solution would be to just record a sequence of facial animations, like dance sequences and press play in SL with a click track count-in. I however envision many more use cases for this than just singing performances. How is this possible to do? Why is this not possible to do? Let’s dissect this. P.s.: If the delay is predictable, the midi file would be offset accordingly, and might have to be manually adjusted. I am aware that the sync will not be universal based on RL location, ie. if you are closer to the source, it should be more accurate.

That is a clever way of doing it, combining identical scripts.

I try to avoid scheduled events, event listings, or any kind of spam, because none of these have been working that well considering the effort and spamming that goes into it. What has worked is to put on events when people are there. This works very well with our open stage agenda. 10am-2pm SLT seem to work great for the European timezones. Another thing I often consider, is what time it is when people have 5-10pm their local time. The Americas line up very well with Europe and Africa, but I miss seeing more people from the timezones between the Middle East and Alaska. What else would you like to share that club owners can use to get our events to match club attendance better? My aim is for the club to be socially active 24/7 in the long term.

I want to let my club visitors change the radiostation playing with a RL style jukebox. where they put in a coin and lock the radio to their preference for 15 minutes. Does this already exist?

Then why is SL so super laggy with more and more avatars, and FPS games on the same computer don't lag more than the ping?

My draw distance is set to 64m, but still, when I am on the ground, everything lags a lot more. I only visit the ground when necessary, but for me, SL is a skybox world.

I never thought about that. Is it because it has to calculate everything in real time?

I never use voice, it pains my ears, but I am aware that some have a problem typing and prefer voice. In the past I turned it off in my clubs, but in a new one, I have chosen to leave it open in case people with typing challenges come visit us. Is this important or does it hardly matter?

It could be nice if we could see this information when shopping. How can we check individual things?

I am big on having my avatar as low lag as possible and will not mind more information and/or corrections of what I think I know. Here is what I have gathered so far: The more things we wear; the more textures everyone needs to load. the more mesh triangles need to be rendered. The more huds we have on, the more script memory is being eaten from the land. Things no one sees, should be removed even if they are invisible. There can be significant difference between creators. Kupra and Doux hairs seem to be very well optimized. Old things are not always better on performance than new fancier stuff. What else am I missing?

When longterm users of these forums start with the toxicity. I feel like there is a small group of very negative people here that run these forums and make it very unattractive to participate. Due to past experiences here, I edit and re-edit and delete most of my replies here because of what to expect. It is very similar to when you live with an abuser, you must carefully plan your every move, because you never know how or when they will respond. I walk on eggshells around everything I say here.
