I don't want to be overly suspicious but I also don't want to be completely naïve. It's like that parable of the scorpion and the frog. The scorpion can't swim and asks the frog to take him across the river. The frog hesitates but the scorpion says they would both drown if the frog was stung. The frog takes the scorpion on it's back and halfway in the river the scorpion stings the frog. The frog asks why they did that and scorpion says 'I can't help it. It's my nature to sting'.

I remember watching this video where they interviewed this guy and girl who were hanging out but not a couple. When asked what they think of their friendship, the girl would say, "I'm just with my friend. He's a great friend" and the guy would say, "Yeah, hopefully in the future we'll have sex". It was consistent for every group they asked. I don't think this is a bad stereotype. It's just human nature.

I honestly don't think, I've ever been so offended before in my life.  You really compared women and men relationships to the scorpion and the frog?

That's disgusting, honestly.  You should be ashamed of yourself.

I don't know who hurt you, and I'm sorry they did, but this is honestly ridiculous to even say.  If  you can't trust your partner with something as simple as second life then you don't need to be with them, *****ing period.  No and's, no if's or but's.

I have never, EVER came on second life seen a female and was like "oh *****, I can't contain myself, I NEED slex RIGHT this SECOND."

And I'm sure I can say the same about my girlfriend as well.  I trust her completely.  She's the best part about me, I get that not everyone's relationship is the same, and yeah some guys maybe less loyal the others, and some women may be not as loyal as others as well, but comparing cheating to "human nature" is revolting.  Anyone who has ever been heart broken, and has been loyal, I'm sure would agree with me.

It's never been in my nature to cheat on my girlfriend, and it's never been in my girlfriends nature to cheat on me, and I'm sure many others could say the same, through good times or bad times.  Real life or second life.  So don't you dare say it's just 'human nature.'

    Absolutely horrible.

I really, honestly hope you find true happiness.

  2. Hey everyone, just wishing all of you a happy new years.  I've spoken to a few of you in the screenshots topic and a few others but, I figured I would create a topic just to wish everyone a happy new year, and hopefully get to say hi to all of you.  You're all such wonderful people and, you really make the forums here actually a really nice place to be.  You all deserve a pat on the back for being awesome.  So I wish you all a great new year and hope everyone gets everything the wish for this coming year.

     ❤️❤️❤️

Study of the Baroness in Mourning (1920)
    Conte Crayon on Vellum Bristol

She looks much nicer in this version than in the oils I'm currently working on.

    (Just messing about with Photoshop!)

It's really impossible for you to make a good screenshot isn't it?  LOL. ❤️  Great job!

There are two ways we crash.

    POIGNANT

Is the perpetual freeze where the viewer freezes and you know you're crashing and can't do anything about it. The peculiarity of this crashing model is very evident if you were talking to someone in voice. As you crash you will continue to hear others talking while you are relentlessly falling into reality and you can do nothing but listen to those voices that slowly recede.

    EXISTENTIAL  (rarer)

Is when simply in the blink of an eye the viewer disappears and you find yourself in front of your desktop suddenly. With the strange feeling that time and space did not exist until a moment before and you realize it only in that moment as if they are a surprising novelty.

If I can express my preference, I would say that I prefer the latter because it always gives me a certain feeling of sudden existential awareness that tickles the tip of my ears.
And you? In which way do you prefer to crash?

Thanks to Roling Loon I have to add a third model/experience that I had forgotten.

THE LONELY WALK TOWARDS THE SUNSET
It happens when you cross a sim and your avatar continues to walk endlessly towards the romantic sunset even if the viewer has disconnected from your connection.

Well when my secondlife crashes, I stare deeply into my screen, feeling as if I'm slowly slipping into madness.  After that, I grab specific scented candles I've bought for these kind of situations, and light them, placing them precisely 2 inches apart from each other in a circle around my monitor.  I put on the backstreet boys and listen to 'show me the feeling of feeling lonely" while slowly caressing a picture of my avatar inside a cold shower.  So I guess I do it a bit differently than you, but still get's the job done.
