  1. I was confused by this too. If you are using Firestorm, then you need a photo in 4:3 for profile picture. Regarding other pictures, it looks like not even LL can agree with themselves. In official viewer the Picks seem to be 16:10 but they display it 4:3 on web profile anyway. Edit: And to add even more confusion, in Firestorm the Picks pictures are dependent on dialog size.
  2. Yes, exactly For someone ~8 USD/hour might be not much, but for someone it might be a good value. I know one good photographer in SL, but unfortunately she is not much online now... But I can ask if the OP is interested.
  3. You can also try searching the Inworld Employment forum, using the "blogger" search term (this link), to see how other blogger jobs are offered to be paid (or rewarded). Maybe it can give you some useful info.
  4. I understand that and I am not arguing at all Sid 😉 But even counting tax and insurance, most people in my country would consider that to be a really well paid job.
  5. Yes, but those RL prices probably vary a lot by country 🙂 Here many people in RL work for a fraction of those €30.
  6. Whoa 😲 I feel like I was born in a wrong country 😄 (or you made a typo in that number 🤔😄)
  7. When I started SL I was doing only text conversations - local chat and IM, with no preference. After some time of making excuses (like that I don't have a microphone, or that the microphone driver is not working ) I decided to give voice a try and eventually started to enjoy it. Now I use both, voice and text. Voice with close people and text with everyone else. I find voice very convenient for example when I want to say or explain something more complex. Saves a lot of typing. But since SL voice doesn't always work the best for me, I call via another platform sometimes.
  8. Lol I do exactly the same, plus I use Ctrl+F on the "List of functions" page 🙂 Also it works if you type the function name in google, e.g. llSensor. But sometimes it suggests something else.
  9. Ah, okay 🙂 I thought it is related to the changes.
  10. I have noticed that on some pages thumbnails don't display. Maybe it's just me, but I tried 2 browsers and ad-block is disabled.
  11. As Ruthven said, on_rez is triggered also on log in according to https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/On_rez Simply comment it out.
  12. You might also find some info here: https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/fs_run_crash There should be also a support group https://www.firestormviewer.org/support/
  13. I have just tried with one gmail and one non-gmail email and it does not work. No e-mail was received in SL. Sending emails from SL to external email works.
  14. If I am not wrong, then the maximum size of a texture in SL is 1024x1024: (source: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Limits) If you need more, then you have to use multiple textures.
  15. I hope nobody minds that I refresh this old thread... Today I bought some chicken breasts and made something that I am not sure how is called in English, but you might know it under the name schnitzel. In my country we call it "Řízek" and it is a very favorite food here, usually eaten with potatoes or potato salad. (First photo is my, second from internet.) Bon appetit to everyone eating right now 🍽️😉
  16. Could you also please provide link/URL where does it come from?
  17. Would be great to see those stats. The only I was able to find was this very old research from 2007 (https://www.comscore.com/Insights/Press-Releases/2007/05/Second-Life-Growth-Worldwide) that says there was 61% Europeans in SL at that time and only 19% from North America.
  18. I wish I was doing this in RL right now! 😁🌴🌊⛱️🌅
  19. Specifying owner in llListen will make your prim script listen only to the owner (the avatar that owns the object). But what you need is the script to listen to the button, so that's why it was not working. If you (assuming you are the owner) said "/253465 MENU" in local chat (without quotes), then it would work. Removing that owner from llListen will make the prim script listen to any object and any avatar and will make it work with the button.
  20. I don't completely understand why renting OpenSim region is so much cheaper, but I can imagine that those $229 per month in SL also include some customer support and it has to include also salaries of LL employees, LL's offices rent and other things. Btw, I tried OpenSim and visited Kitely too few weeks ago and a friend showed me a region consisting of total 64 sims (8x8 sims). I don't remember how much it costed the owner to rent 64 regions but it was waaaaay cheaper than in SL. However, all the places that I visited in OpenSim and Kitely were always almost empty. So, I don't know, but maybe you can't compare that with SL where you can have up to 100 people in one sim, while in OpenSim I was lucky to see 10 people in one place. (Also I have experienced several bugs during my OpenSim visit).
  21. Two ideas come up on my mind: 1. Your PHP file causes some error (e.g. can't connect to DB, or something else) and your server is configured to return a 404 page in that case. Although usually servers return a 500 error (Internal server error) in such case, but who knows, maybe your server is configured in that way. 2. Your PHP script finishes fine without errors or is not executed at all, and there is a problem with your URL query. I have quickly checked the SLDB LSL script and it uses HTTP GET method for communicating with the PHP end. So it put's all data into a URL query. If you are using Wordpress, then maybe you are also using some "URL prettifier". I don't know how that thing is called exactly, but it basically turns e.g. "www.server.com/index.php?some=argument" into "www.server.com/index/some/argument/". So maybe this might be also causing problems... So, I would first make sure that your PHP script finishes without errors (e.g. by adding those debug outputs). Then I would check the URL that is being requested. In PHP you can add this to the beginning of the PHP file: echo("The requested URL is: {$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']}"); In LSL script you can see the URL by outputting the URL argument of llHTTPRequest. Edit: Or maybe it would be better to use "die" instead of "echo": die("The requested URL is: {$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']}");
