@VQQM What mesh head are you using? It looks a bit low on the forehead, is the hairbase made for that head? It looks to me like the details are most likely rendered on a texture, perhaps? As in, rather than being detailed via transparency (so that it can be tinted), it is detailed via coloring. I would message the creator and ask. If that is not the case - what viewer are you using? Are you exiting the "Edit appearance" mode entirely after tinting?
