  1. Thanks for spitballing it with me. Jewell basically summed it up, it's not a huge deal either way, just would have been nice :0
  2. Helloooooo I have a couple of parcels for me and my friends and they are all group owned, I was just wondering if and how it is possible to hide ONE of them from the group members in the land list in group info. Thankyouuu ❤️
  3. Me and a friend have a bit of group owned land, and nomatter what we cannot figure out how to allow her to "Apply to Parcel". I am the only one that can change the parcel environment settings, but she has full permissions in the group. Please halp! :3
  4. So it's not just my hair, it's happening to friends avatars but I'm the only one that can see it like that : https://gyazo.com/a9b99000cd28370f1b3ff2f85f48456d
  5. Settings make almost 0 difference for me. The difference between all low and all extras turned off, and everything ultra, is totally negligible. The ONLY setting that really makes a difference for me is Shadows. Which I have OFF 100% of the time... turning it to sun and moon just tanks everything for me.
  6. yeah it looks fine at first... if I restart SL it's fine for a bit... then randomly pops up.
  7. It seems like its happening with rigged and unrigged hair, and I literally have to restart to fix it... but yeah I'm starting to think Whirly is right. Brow base didn't fix anything. I use the Sweet Thing Neko ears and tail a lot, have a petter, and a halo... so0o0o0o.
  8. I don't even know what that is Is it to do with the eyebrow shaper thing that came with my head skin?
  9. This is not mine, but a friend of a friend... it seems like there is 512m2 too many? Or does the 512m2 Linden home not count towards total land usage?
  10. Let me know how your performance is because I have a 6700XT and I've had issueeessssssss with performance. People on last gen Nvidia cards get better performance than me.
  11. https://gyazo.com/2e198d497f1cebc3eb50bfa66caecd32 Pretty self-explanatory. I have tried resetting skeleton, AO, removing head and putting it back on again, same for ears, petter, hair, alpha, teleporting places, you name it. It is happening like EVERY day and the only way I can fix it is by restarting my Viewer. It's driving me absolutely insane. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? :c
  12. Well, it DID help my performance, so I'm leaving it as is. All that blog means is they ditched their server-warehouse and rented decentralized servers from Amazon - it has nothing to do with client-side performance. There's a difference between the servers and simulations being run in the cloud, and everything being rendered server-side. The stuff on the back end likely has almost no 3d acceleration and is just a bunch of player positioning data and input/output data. The servers will have their own FPS that should be almost completely independent of how fast my PC can render the 3D environment and process local simulations/physics/load textures etc. Even if the 3D stuff WAS being rendered server-side (which it is NOT), I would expect my CPU load to be high, because I would essentially be having to decode video in real-time (See: Stadia). Most 3D applications are designed to load your hardware as much as possible - because that is how they get performance. By actually USING the hardware. That said, I fully expect this behavior from older games where there's basically unlimited performance on-tap. Why operate at 250W when you're getting 300FPS at 50W, right? The problem is, that SL doesn't seem to know *how* to extract more performance even when it really needs to. My CPU and GPU load are higher in CS:GO which is 9 years old, and runs on an engine first released in 2004. Shadows is a great example - that's 100% client-side. Why should shadows tank performance when I have all this hardware sitting here doing literally nothing? Same with rendering avatars. Frankly it doesn't matter how high-poly (Or in layman's terms: "unoptimized") they are if my GPU isn't even told by the application that it should be working harder.

  14. 99% of the settings have literally 0 impact on performance. The only one's I've found make any difference so far is shadows, ambient occlusion, and water It doesn't really seem to matter what else I do. I can set Render distance to 30, or to 300 and my performance is identical. My GPU is maxxing out at 40W instead of 250W. It doesn't go above 500Mhz when it's supposed to get up to 2900Mhz. My VRAM is at 3GB/12GB. The GPU is SO underutilized that the fan literally never even spins on - it's sits there idle cooling itself passively and remaining below 50C Only 2GB/32GB of system memory is being used by SL, and my CPU never goes above 10% utilization. Below it says my GPU memory is maxxed, but it's meaningless. It basically doesn't have a clue what to do with the resources available. Actually, Increasing my cache size to 10GB and my bandwidth to 10Mbps helped performance more than any graphics settings. It's just totally bizarre - people bang on about content creators 'not optimizing' their mesh models etc etc, but the game might as well be running in the cloud. When was the last time LL made a blog post, or an update focused on performance, or updating the rendering API? *****, their technical support literature is from 2011. Is it really running on OpenGL 3.0?? Released in 2008?
  15. Like I said, I tried 3 or 4. Doesn't make a difference, I'm currently in an area with like 3 people and sitting at 4fps. Which is pretty typical from what I've seen so far. I tried the stock viewer, I tried Catznip, and I'm currently on Black Dragon because it's the only one with decent 3rd person controls (i.e. mouselook).
  16. System Specs: Ryzen 3600 32GB 3200Mhz DDR4 6700XT 2TB M.2 nVME Storage 450Mbps DL hardwired LAN. I am struggling to maintain between 5-15FPS unless I'm in a totally desolate area. In task manager and AMD Radeon Software, my GPU and CPU are basically asleep. 10% utilization on the CPU, and 50% on the GPU - But the GPU is in a low power-state even if I try to force it to maximum power. It runs at about 500Mhz/50%. A 6700XT is roughly equivalent to a 3060Ti or 3070. This is totally nuts. If I look at task manager, not even one thread of the CPU has 100% Utilization. EDIT: Settings don't really seem to change much whether I'm on low or high. Additionally, I tried 3 or 4 different viewers with similar results. NO viewer allows me to utilize my full VRAM - it maxes out at 6GB out of 12.
