  1. Q: Could a “conveyor belt” system work? Example: The vendor board selects an item at random and displays it for purchase. That item remains on display and available for purchase until a buyer touches the vendor which locks it to them for purchase. This allowed the buyer to purchase the item and deliver it. The vendor unlocks and then selects another item at random and displays it for purchase and the cycle repeats. Example image here and credit to Nadi Vemo for the approved vendor design. A: Yes, as long as the item currently being purchased is known. Note however that you should discontinue the use of the “gacha” term for these sales. Thank you for working with creators and residents to find a solution! I am happy to see a vendor like this is approved and am excited for the future! Although gachas are dead, a phoenix has risen from the ashes
  2. No, these are allowed because everyone gets the same mystery contents.
  3. Thank you, it's good to know our suggestions on solutions to sell content are being considered rather than immediately shut down. Although gacha is gone for good. I look forward to what creative solution we can create so that this content can remain within reach to those without a surplus of lindens to buy fatpacks.
  4. Q: Will popular games like 7seas be impacted by this policy change? A: No, because the purchase of bait to go “fishing” is a purchase being made of a known item, and also the fish you catch while playing the game are non-transferable. --- Actually 7seas fishing items ARE transferable. Purchasing the "bait" is just changing the currency you use to roll for a random item...err I mean catch a fish. I know of some creators that put pieces of an outfit, furniture, decor, etc as possible catches from fishing so that would be the same mechanic as a gacha using your bait you made a payment for to get a random result each pull...err I mean cast. AKA "a chance-based outcome as a result of a payment" Is this the new loophole? 7SEAS EVENTS ARE BACK! (sarcasm)
  5. No worrying about someone stealing your item if it comes up. The machine can only be used by one person at a time to prevent that. A minor restriction, but better than nothing. Gachas are a very lucrative business model. If they weren't they would not have thrived as much as they have and so I don't think they are going anywhere. They will just adapt to follow the new policy. Some people love the thrill of getting a rare item for a low cost.
  6. No waiting, you just keep playing. That's what a gacha machine essentially is, you stand around and pay a machine until you get the item you want. Instead of paying to get just an item. Now you are playing to get the item shown and change the next item. Also no worrying about someone stealing your item if it comes up. The machine can only be used by one person at a time to prevent that.
  7. Kind of except you pay to receive the current item and change the next item for sale. There is no guarantee the next item you want will be next, but you can keep playing in hopes it changes to the item you want. It's the same as gacha, but now you can see the item you will get for your pull, but there is still a chance what the next item for sale will be. Will it be the rare? Who knows!? So the gacha spirit is still alive and well!
  8. That already happens, lol. But yeah obviously there would be some limitations.
  9. Gacha's are not going anywhere. Even now behind the scenes, people are already working on a solution. It's not that hard to just show people the item they will receive if they pull on the machine. Problem solved. No more random chance. You can see what you are paying for just like a vendor. The next item changes after each purchase and they can choose to buy it or walk away and let someone else buy it. The only downside is the machine can only be used by one person at a time. Better than nothing at all.
