  1. I installed my viewer (Firestorm) ona second computer today, and when I logged in, I noticed that my preference setting where not the same as they were on my usual computer? Do they not carry over from computer to computer?
  2. Yep - done the same. I just copied them from the library, and now pasted them in the settings folder in my inventory. Also (if of any interest to you or anyone) but in the process of trying to sort this, I did find a place on marketplace a helpful creator who is offering all of the old default XML Windlights as dowanloadable files, for free. So I did access these. (Not sure if I am allowed to share that marketplace link here - but happy to? https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Firestorm-Default-Sky-Windlights-for-EEP/20088838 ) Anyway I have also intalled those older windlights too. Not sure if they will work worse or the same in the newer EEP viewer. But very useful and nice of this person to provide them all the same. So now for me it looks like I have all the default windliights form this marketplace seller - PLUS all the EEP environments copied from my library. So I have gone form having NO environmnet settings, to having far too many - lol
  3. As per my experience detailed.... I have deleted my cache manually. And logged back in in a low loag area. And although my inventory/settings is still empty. 😞 I can however now see some EEP settings have appeared in my library/environments folder. 🙂 Not sure is that's as it should be and that is where they 'live' for everyone else? Os should the be moved to another folder (eg my inventory/settings folder?)
  4. Think we may be getting there. did this as you suggested. Logged out. Deleted my cache manually. And logged back in in a low loag area. And although my inventory/settings is still empty. 😞 I can however now see some EEP settings have appeared in my library/environments folder. 🙂 Is that where they 'live' for everyone else? Os should the be moved to another folder (eg my inventory/settings folder?)
  5. Hi. Yep, now done that. Deleted cache. Logged back in in a quiet place. And still, my Settings folder is empty....
  6. Thanks. I will give that a go. But just out of interest. It wouldn't have anything to do with the version of Firestorm I am running would it? I don't believe it is the latest version?
  7. Thanks. I will give that a go. But just out of interest. It wouldn't have anything to do with the version of Firestorm I am running would it? I don't believe it is the latest version? I am running Firestorm version 6.4.12.62831 (6.4.12.62831).
  8. Thanks. Interesting. My Inventory/Setting folder is empty. Nothing in it at all And there isn't a Library/Setting folder (But there is a Library/Environments folder - and that has sub folders - but they are also all empty) See screenshot Would it have anything to do with the version of Firestrm I am running? I am running Firestorm version 6.4.12.62831 (6.4.12.62831) ?
  9. Fantastic- that is great advice. And yes, will continue to use FS for dauy use, but open and update SL viewer now and again, just in case like you say I need to test something, or need offiial support. Great thorough response and very helpful, thank you
  10. Hope this is a simple question, you can help me with please? I read that since EEP got rolled out, there should be a library of around 200 Sky, Water and Day Cycles, together with a set of textures that can be used for clouds and / or to replace the Sun and Moon, etc. I don't have anything? Do i need to do anything to get these, or anyone know why they may be missing? (PS I use the Firestorm viewer. But they are not in the standard SL viewer either). Thanks. Trish 🙂
  11. I have realised that I may have an older version of both SL and Firestorm Viewers installed. Note I never use the SL Viewer. (Literally only ever used it for day 1 tutotial and used Firestorm ever since). Anyway, I have realised that they are both older versions, and wanted to update my Firestorm viewer. My question is - can I do this without needing to update the SL Viewer, or should I update both - and if so in what order? (I suppose what I am asking, is if they are linked in some way in terms of both needing to be at a certain version - a bit like how you would need to update WINDOWS, before updating to the latest OFFICE software, if that makes sense?) And - regardless of answer to above, Is there any reason that I should log into the standard SL viewer from time to time? Or is there no benefit to doing that? Thanks, Trish 🙂
  12. I have had three different houseboats since joining SL a few months ago. So they do come up. The one I have now, still not in perfect location for me, so may try again - but fine for now. But yes - you are very close sometimes to your neighbours. But I kind of like that. In fact, in the other house types I tried, I never once had a neighbour 'IM me', to say hello or anything, and yet I have that happen at every one of the three houseboats I've had, and have even got quite friendly with my one neighbour, and we have chatted a lot - which is nice, and makes it feel more like a real community - rather than a place with loads of houses, with people that must live in them, but just never seen - almost like ghosts.
  13. ...perhaps...although if the system allows 5 changes in 24hrs...then some kind of 'design' thought must have gone into that process. And therefore as part of whoever in Linden Labs 'designed' a system that allows 5 changes in 24hrs, would have (hopefully) presumed/realised those people who use those five changes aren't going to want keep selecting the same house five times in a row? So perhaps there is 'design' to the system, but it's 'flawed' in some way #DesignFlaw. But just not enough of a priority or issue for most users for it to be worth their effort in re-designing the 'five dice rolls a day' system.
  14. Agree. Getting the same house again and again, and having that count towards your five for the session is a pain. Only way to avoid this is not choose same house type that session, or take a risk by leaving it for a few hours before selecting same house type. But that does mean you still risk getting the same house from earlier.
  15. Didn't even know there were Stilt home on pier as an option. Agree with you about the ones on Sand. It just felt like a lot of indoor space to fill, and hard to do anything outside that fits aesthetically. So i dumped it, and got one on water. Which I liked - but then noticed my neighbour had some very, let's just say 'exotic furniture' - which put me off living there. But then bagged a houeboat, which I have just moved into.
  16. Houses in Bellissaria (with the full 350 Prim limit) come available all the time. I've in my fifth one since i joined SL just a few months ago. You just have to check frequently and refresh frequently. I am in a Houseboat now, but have had stilt house on land, stilt house on water, Victorian, Traditional and Log Home so far. All were relatively easy to get. And the trad, victorian and chalets come up very frequently. The stilt homes, log homes and houseboats less so.
  17. Thanks. I had not been to their land. I literally starting hearing their TV the second I landed in my new Linden home. I then did go over to theirs (and several) homes to try and find out which home it was that had left media playing 24/7. But I hadn't been on their land previously, and could definitley hear their TV playing a concert on loop. And the 'About Land/ Media url in Home Page box' is blank.. But I still hear the TV looping when I am on my land
  18. Can I ask why you put the word 'IF' in uppercase and use the word 'really'. (kind of suggests I am imagining it?) And regards the reality/illusionary aspects of SL....do you mean...when I fly...I am not really..er..flying??? 🤭 (You'll be telling me that Santa Claus doesn't exist next?)
  19. Yes - I have message them several times, and been very polite.
  20. So I have turned media off (Using the button at top of Firestorm) and that has stopped it for now. but does that mean it will also stop any other media playing - such as any music media I wish to play on my own land? If so - how can i mute their YouTube video playing in the house next door - but still hear mine? Bit confused by this to be honest. I want to hear all the ambient sounds -(Birds, waves, water, etc) and also some of my own music. But i don't want to have to hear a rock concert playing on the YouTube TV from house next door. And just confused what settings I / or they need to have on or off to acheive that. (I use Firestorm by the way) (PS - just to add - I do not beleive the neighbouris doing this on purpose. I just don't think they realise how loud it is for neioghbours who are also hearing it, or even realise that they have left it on a constant loop).
  21. Ooooh - thanks for that. That has helped me identify the house (and a TV in that house playing a looped Youtube Video of a concert Very Loudly). So how can I remove just that sound from my SL experience, or is it something the house owner has to do there end?
  22. I have just moved into a home ( A Linden one) and there is some very loud music always playing from nearby. I thought that neighbours could restrict any music or media they are playing to just their home? Anway, how can I find out which of the homes near me is the culprit, so that I can approach them and ask them to turn it down/off. (or restrict it just to their land). I just can't seem to work out which house it is. Is there a way to do that?
