That is not silly at all Rowan THANK YOU. I actually have found a similar but odd workaround for now. By right clicking on the firestorm shortcut and selecting, test compatability, it gives me an option to test and that launches it! On extremely low settings but I got in. So, I will also look into what you suggested as it might well help.

Thank you for your help tho, it is appreciated. I have to say, in my 16 years in sl this is the very first time i have ever had this and I genuinely have no clue.

Sadly, I cant even get the viewer to load to an open page before it crashes with the graphics message. It is so weird, it worked great a week ago.

I've seen such errors before when switching video cards. Try to delete your viewer settings completely (make a copy first etc just in case) and restart the viewer.

For FS it's typically stored in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm_x64\

Ok I have opened the user settings folder and am deleting the settings XML doc, I hope that's the right one. *crosses fingers*

It was worth a try. Sadly, no joy, am starting to hope its NOT an issue with my graphics card.  Thanks again for trying, truly appreciated.

I can see the drop down menu, and I went through the options I could see but it didn't give that as an option. It is probably me being daft

Hi everyone.

Pretty much what the title says. I have never had this issue before and have run SL on many many pcs. 

This is my current desktop.

Today, after a week away, I got home, attempted to fire up firestorm and repeatedly keep getting this message

 

I have updated my drivers several times, and reinstalled them. Plus, it worked a week ago so I have no clue whats happening. I redownloaded Firestorm but I also get the same message when I try to launch the official sl viewer too. 

Any advice gratefully received.

1. Created a white canvas 1024 x 512 px

2. Show > Grid, then took a screengrab of it; saved and opened the resulting .jpg in Photoshop (had to add 2 more pixels to the canvas on the right to make it up to 1024px)

3. Uploaded the grid image to SL and added it as the texture for my 8mx4m wall to get measurements

4. Opened the image I wanted to use as a texture in Photoshop, placed the grid image in a layer above it

5. Created a new layer and drew the bright blue box (fill and outline) to correspond with the doorway (adding a bit extra as the doorframe would cover edges)

6. I needed to flatten the image, but the bottom layer couldn't be unlocked (not sure what I did wrong), so I duplicated the bottom layer, made the locked layer invisible and then flattened the image.

7. Used the Magic Wand tool (with a tolerance of 30) to select the entire blue area

8. Used the Magic Eraser tool to remove the blue area, leaving a transparent area in its place

9. Saved the image as a .png and uploaded it to SL, and adjusted transparency. (Don't forget to make the object Phantom and then Lock it!)

Once again, there are many ways to accomplish the same task in any image editor.

I was about to give it up because my alt's annual premium was expiring.. but I just could not bring myself to abandon it. I tried twice and both times decided I loved the spot too much. I ended up renewing that alt for another year. to keep it.

Bottom line.. you are not alone.

And I suspect lots of others are in the same boat as the two of us.

Então agora para o meu “infortúnio” peguei dois em um terreno incrível:
o primeiro no Carnaval - com dois simuladores de água oceânica na frente, um canal atrás e a possibilidade de sair com o barco diretamente de dentro da embalagem.

E o outro em - The Beaten Path - com vistas maravilhosas e terreno no canal que leva à Baía de Fourze.

... A verdade é que até amanhã tenho que me despedir deles ... ohhhh DOR !!!

Stunning locations. I personally would choose Baleen but that is because its a dream camping spot for me  It reminds me of camping in the South of France as a child ❤️ Either way, you are keeping a stunner!
