I think that's one of the worst things about SL. It's the root of having to buy multiple copies of an item if you want to use them on different alts; I hate that. As far as I'm concerned, *I* bought it, I should be able to use it on any alt I want. Not that it's going to change; sellers (except the few like me) would have a total meltdown.
I forgot too that the first few alts I created years ago were also for my land group, because it worked out cheaper to do that than pay extra tier. That brings back memories of owning 1/3 of a region with sailable water on one side and protected land on another. Sold that for ten times what I paid when I got really short of money for a while
Oh goddess, do I know that feeling well! =(
My alts are pretty much used as other characters for RP, and "extras" for taking pics. One of them is even my "sister".

Just now, I noticed my things, such as buildings, are using a touch less LI than they did before.
Can't complain about newly reopened LI! =D

It’s all in how you use it 🤣
Agreed. I prefer the regular Lara myself, and have been told I pull off curvy well.

SL wise, I would likely finally open a few sims, and really create a city. Or devote some sims to assorted themes, like cyberpunk, WW2/1940s, sci-fi. Perhaps a water sim with aircraft carrier for RP battles.
RL? Likely lead the same life I do now. Put the money away, and just use the interest to live off, pay bills and such. ~shrugs~ Oh, and an even better computer to run my SL! XD

Exactly! ^^

Poor @SlammedSam volunteered to let me try an experimental portrait using her as a model, and here is what I've come up with. It's a bit different. I'm not entirely happy with it, but it's getting close to a look I want.
Thanks Sam!
PS. The others who volunteered here should hide - I'll be coming after you too.
PPS. I really need a drawing tablet.
Ooooo, nice!
Considering the basic idea behind my avi started out as comics I drew years ago, very apropos! =D

My current main is my former alt. My current alt is my former main, who is 99% inactive, because my SL changed, and I ended up having more reason to develop my get-away-and-build account, and not so much reason to use my other.
I ended up being more active in the places where everyone knew my builder account, basically.
I have a similar story. One day, I just happened to be goofing around on an RP alt - imagine that! - and got to thinking about some old stories I wrote years and years before. Shortly after, Sam was created, and promoted to main. I also have made Kristen, Sam's sister, though she mostly comes out if I need to take a pic. One of these days, I might even get around to making the Martians ...
And yes, most of my main social circles that knew me before know and embrace me as Sam, I'm happy to say. 😃

Another observation. There's this buy L$ kiosk at the end of the orientation tutorial:-
The kiosk. Note that the orientation exit is behind it.
I've seen two newbies stop in front of the kiosk and become distracted by it (Presumably fiddling about with that web page floater that pops up, getting nagged to set up payment information)
One of the newbies after clicking the kiosk and seeing the web page, logged off.
I wonder if this is really a smart place to put the kiosk. I get LL probably want newbies to set up payment information on their account, but this kiosk appears long before a newbie might become in any way invested in SecondLife, or has even seen examples of what L$ can buy. I can't help but feel it would have been better for the newbie to see some actual content first. Maybe even a shop, so they could become invested in the platform and had some kind of motivation to buy L$
Very much agreed. If I saw such a thing as a fresh newbie, I likely would have been horribly put off by SL.
While having some L$ in the virtual purse is nice, maybe a newcomer would like to know what they're paying for. ~puts the germane bit from the quote in bold~ It took me a good while in SL before I even thought about buying L$. That needs to be on one's own terms. not shoved in one's face.

Actually . . . *cough* . . . I'm looking for a volunteer, either man or woman, who would be willing to model for one of these experimental grungy portraits for me. I could just use an alt, but it's more interesting using another person!
Warning: I really am experimenting here. It might not be any good! But it will be somewhat along the lines of portrait above.
Hoot and holler at me next time we're about! 😃
