  1. Accidentally made a villain out of a good guy XD We had nice yin-yang themed photoshoot about two halves of inner self, finding balance etc. This doesn't quite reflect the theme, but I like it too much to just toss away.
  2. Back to my roleplaying roots and attempts at visual storytelling.
  3. I've got you, girl. :3 It is Yomi - Lorelei
  4. Nope, you were talking about sound and media restricted to the parcel setting earlier, I just went over the whole thread and checked. The setting I am talking about is play media sound in sound settings. Or as in ChinRey shown in screenshot for full settings menu. These two settings handle different things.
  5. As I found out recently this checkmark in land settings doesn't affect media playing from some object outside your parcel. (Neighbors forgot to turn music on their yacht off, we were very puzzled where the extra music stream is coming from). Quick way to check if your case is media related or not - toggle off and back on playing media sounds in your viewer's settings.
  6. Has anyone ever filed a Jira for an option to ignore forum topic to be added? edit: I am on a go right now and can't go look myself, but might do so later if it wouldn't come up otherwise.
  7. That is pretty much my understanding after this meeting. Fun stuff and real life related topics are okay only in the context of how they relate to SL. Other thing that was brought up is overzealous moderation, and some moments that leave us wonder - did we even overstep the line here, really? To which Keira asked to email her about such instances, so the team could look into them further and see if there was a mistake or nah. It feels to me like moderation team is adjusting to the new rules just as much as we are.
  8. It is going to be way past midnight in my time zone, but I will try to attend. Current situation inspires way too many questions and concerns to ignore.
  9. Less than 10, mostly spam bots, couple creeps. Forums mute list is larger, but I just treat it as a drawer for my sock puppet collection at this point.
  10. Learning how to achieve bokeh in a viewer (while also being a child).
  11. There's another thing I've noticed aside from what have been mentioned already - most heads that are given as gifts, at least in past couple years, tend to be variations of a similar look. Same brands often do have heads with wildly different geometry at the full price, but you will have to go in store and look for them.
  12. That would be us trying to get the heck away from what-in-the-world-we-salied-into. Sailing on Sundays is remarkably chaotic.
  13. Is the Cartel discord still exists? It seems like gremlins got to the invite link in the inworld group description and broke it.
  14. Such changes in the forum rules without a stickie in "what's new" / unread content is a peeeeeeve. I would've missed the change if not for all of you lovely folks venting. I check forums close to daily and by the time I got on, all of new rules topics got buried under other conversations.
  15. ALEXANDRITE has been my eyes of choice for months now, subtle blue from this pack - https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/ALEXANDRITE-Kylie-Eyes-FATPACK/22800852 Then Avi Glam before that and at some point ARTE.
  16. I was taking pictures of a friend being large and scary sea monster, and then noticed that this setup has just the right lighting and amount of blur for dramatic zoomies shot.
  17. ...so where do I sign this petition? On a serious note - yes. LL please please please do a testing period with a bunch of creators, preferably with creators of different levels of experience, because established mesh makers and people who are just learning might have very different problems with dev kit. And that comes not just to clothes, but to body mods as well. We all need NUX projects to be a success, and for a body getting enough creator support is a huge part of it.
  18. Timezones. Most people I meet live half across the world in real life, so catching each other online is a challenge, especially if something changes in our schedules or real life gets busy. The window to see each other is very small. And virtual worlds without friends are just not as fun.
  19. Got a friend into sailing, now he refuses to ever step from his boat.
  20. I like to travel by road to find Mainland gems. Most have at least some road access, so you will spot them as you are going by. When you see something cool - stop, check if the place is open for public and if it is, then go in and explore. Keep your eyes open for Tourist centers and signs of building groups. Most Mainland gems are a result of collaboration between several residents, and if you are exploring one, you will likely find that they advertise their friends doing something cool on other side of the grid. Check if adjacent parcels are for sale or abandoned. I think BBB group from Belli runs mounthly Mainland tours, although might be whole separate initiative, not sure. Drivers of SL have weekly drives, mostly through Mainland. Back to original question - I lived both on Mainland and private land, both have their own merits that has been brought up in this topic already. It is more about what do you personally enjoy more. I tend to come back to Mainland over and over again, both for security and community. Important thing though - I am not bothered by the randomness that Mainland brings, I actually enjoy it quite a lot. But for other people dealing with neighbors and random strangers could be bothersome, and it's a valid thing to consider.
  21. Adult version usually includes all PG animations. In some stores you will see Adult version of the items priced higher for that reason. When in doubt - go to in world store, sit on furniture you are planning to buy and test the menus and animations. I usually buy Adult version of the items myself, especially if it prices the same as PG one. If I want to use same piece of furniture in a PG build, I will edit adult animations out - it does require some script and objects editing skills, but not as intimidating as it might sound.
