There is a petite add-on for both Slink bodies (regular and Hourglass) but there's almost no clothing made for them. Same for Belleza Freya, which has a V-tech option and virtually nothing to wear.

There are really only two viable options for a femboy avatar. Top choice is Maitreya. Second is Kemono, which is an entirely different thing altogether. Kemono needs special skins and everything, it's not compatible with anything made for other bodies.

I saw slinks petite and that it didn’t have anything clothes wise.
I have avatar 2.0 which is similar to kemono and I’m not really a fan of how it’s appliers only. I bought 2.0 early on when transitioning to mesh before knowing the true differences between bom & appliers.

Maitreya definitely, for the chest mod options. Maitreya does Petite and Flat, but I still like V-Tech best for flat, partly because there's more clothes available for it and partly because it has a better shape.

If you're loyal to Lucybody and/or looking for a cheaper option than Maitreya, there's two bodies from Lucybody that you might want to look at; Natasha is a completely flat chest option and Vania is very petite. Natasha fits Maitreya + V-Tech clothes and Vania fits Petite (as long as you have breast sliders turned down to 10 or less). Both these bodies are BOM-only.  Speaking of Lucybody, if you want a very cheap female body you ought to pick up the freebie from the Midnight Mania. It may take 3-4 days to reach target and pay out but it will eventually, and you need to buy the BOM relay for L$197. This (and all new bodies from Lucybody) fit Maitreya clothes and Slink shoes so there is no shortage of stuff to wear.

I was not aware Lucy body fit maitreya clothing and slink shows. And that Lucy body Natasha fit vtech stuff. I will keep this in mind then. I do like how Natasha looks for more femboys. So it’s a option. Thanks for letting me know

I am not sure how baking works (if better) in the newer version of Blender for SL uploads but I can tell you that:

you need to find "SMOOTH" and change the SHADING to that rather than FLAT which is the default

you can RESIZE the JOINED OBJECT within Blender (best) or you can resize it in the UPLOAD OPTIONS window in the SCALING area.

If it is going to be a small object the default LOD settings will not work well. There are ways around this but those are for another day :D.  But keep that in mind.

There is no way that this item should cost 62 linden to upload. That in itself tells you there are one or more things wrong and NOT to upload.  So work on this some more and watch some "made for SL" blender tutorials (hopefully with the Blender version you are using).

If you can get into the beta grid  (not sure how that is working for newcomers now) then that is the place to learn and test.

We can't tell from just your upload screenshot but you may have just ASSIGNED materials to the model and not UNWRAPPED the model.

So some steps are missing for you.   Hopefully someone using a new version of Blender can put in some screenshots to help you with the textures part of your problems.

Good luck.  I can't say it gets easier for awhile but eventually it DOES become FUN :D.

i read something on unwrapping textures but it didnt explain it that well. i cant remember what texture tutorial i followed but i used this panel, and on base color inserted a texture with the image option

Add the SL cache folder as an exception to Windows Defender (or whatever other antivirus you have). This will double the rezing speed of places that are cached and accelerate loading of places that aren't.

i didnt know this thank you!

  5. I’m more struggling to find a pc within the $300 range that has more ram and a better graphics card.  I found some with 8 fb ram but graphics cards are questionable
currently I run sl on a surface pro but sl is slow on it if I have it set past meduim quality

  6. my surface specs:

    Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300U CPU @ 2.60GHz   2.71 GHz
    Installed RAM    8.00 GB
System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch    Pen and touch support with 10 touch points

i also ran internet speed tests on 3 different sites. But when i do get get out of sl i get a message saying "the region may be experiencing trouble. you've been logged out of secondlife. please check your internet connection."

I use an Adam mesh body with BoM for my personal avatar. 2950 Li. BoM relay 10 Li.  (I have lots of avatars which serve as models). The head is a Logo Chase head. A free version which is unfortunately not available anymore.  BoM compatible as well.

    Adam Body

    Adam BoM relay

The Adam Body works with Omega also. But just to mention it, one cannot use Omega and BoM at the same time. Anyway, there are many clothes available for this body. My advice: don't hesitate to learn BoM. Actually it's simple. You just need to learn some basics. It only seems to be complicate and confusing because some people tend to answer starter questions rather with technical details which might be interesting for experienced users than to tell them the 3, 4 things which starters really need to know to get BoM working.

if you dont mind do you happen to know of any good BoM tutorials? i will check out those bodies too btw, thank you

It is partly because males and females often differ a lot when it comes to clothing.
Having a favorite T-shirt in 10 different colors, a few swimming trunks and a pair of comfy jeans in 6 colors, together with 2 or 3 pairs of shoes and most guys are all set.
Except for Christmas and a wedding.

If I were in the clothing design business I would concentrate on female stuff too to be honest. That is were a lot more money is to be made.

    [rant]
What bothers me most is that a lot of clothes made for men are shown with pictures and body shapes of dressed up 2.3 meters tall gorillas instead of ordinary guys.
It makes stuff look awful and then I lose interest most of the time and don't even bother to get a demo,
That is the main reason I still have a classic avatar as well  I guess. Most mesh bodies look like from a guy who spends at least 6 hours a day in a gym to pump up the volumes.
    [/rant]

That’s my issue why I haven’t converted to male mesh bodies. I don’t want a super muscular guy. Lean, average, or skinny would be want I want. But also lots of the male heads I haven’t been able to find one I absolutely love.

Ocacin are cheap. But the reviews is very positive or very negative. I think you need to be able to mod them, and read notecard and watch videos. The worst reviews is from what I call "people who don't get it".

I could not see a demo for the 400 L body, try to send a notecard and ask for a demo? The 250 L bodies have demos. The 400 L body has some clothes, I did as suggested and searched for "Gamit" and got up some clothes. Not super good selection, but some.

I’ll definitely check the demos out and see if I understand it first.

I'm 14 years in SL and still walking around in a classic avi.
It might be time to bite the bullit and start the learning curve needed.
So hey, I'm interested as well in any available tip.

Not sure if https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Sweets-Male-BoM-Bento-Mesh-Body-w-Alpha-HUD/19282428 would be a good place to start. I’m thinking of checking out this avatar myself. It uses system clothes and skins.

"A good selection of clothes available" is kind of laughable compared to the female market, laughable in a doleful way, even for the common brands.

But well. You can try Alantori, for example... it's said to match some stuff, but good luck with that.

Actually seen the hair from Alantori before. I think the body actually looks nice. Heads look a little too wide for me. Thanks for the suggestion. And yeah it sucks how male clothing is hard to find in all avatar games including sl. Female stuff is created by the bucket load.

  12. in sl i like to make avatar based on characters or celebrities i like. currently i have male avatars based on majima from yakuza, hazuki from the band lynch, and ruki from the band the gazette.

I have mesh bodies and heads but only for females. What i have is lucy body selena/natasha, avatar 2.0, ebody free version, and the normie head. one thing i like with the lucybody compared to my other mesh bodies is its compatible with system clothes and skin since i already have a large selection of system stuff. Omega and bom skin and appliers still kinda confuses me. the avatar 2.0 is limited in clothes, and skins but they're relatively easy to apply. though i don't get the texture mods for lots of the utiliazor avatar clothes that are available to buy.

Are there any recommendations for male mesh bodies and heads that don't cost more than l$2000-3000? id prefer they cant use system skins at least, and have a good selection of clothes available

  13. at first it was just when i teleported to somewhere after logging  in my character would freeze then sl would go gray then tell me I've been logged out. now it seems to crash even before teleporting somewhere else. It happens on both of my laptops. I even tried firestorm on one of my laptops and same thing happened. its weird because sl was working fine before this week. I updated sl on one of my laptops today but it still crashed not long after logging in. not sure how to report bugs, but several of my friends on sl have had similar issues as me.

Not being able to move (when you aren't blocked by objects) is usually a sign of being disconnected.

SL will often try to regain the connection for about 30-60 seconds before it finally tells you "I give up, we're disconnected."

i didnt know that. though right now, sl usually just crashes shortly after this happens. I'll test it again later and see if itll respond after 30-60 secs.

  15. When i log in i usually go to my house first let everything load then find a place i want to visit. But whenever i teleport to a different location my character wont walk not matter which way i try: arrows, wasd, or clicking. Ive tried turning off my ao before teleporting but i didnt have much luck. Ive also updated and restarted my pc, and logged in/out of sl. This issues been happening for several days. Usually sl crashes shortly after teleporting somewhere else aswell.

Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I'm using my surface because my laptop is broken at the moment. But sl was running fine on the surface before this glitch started up. i set graphics, distance really low too.
