I was shopping (my favorite thing) and purchased a product from the sales vendor board as usual. I did the usual and opened the package on site, and the 'please receive package blue square' popped up, and I clicked on that. Since then, I have had a gigantic 'frozen screen' with the picture inside the clothing product on my screen, which is of a model with a white dress on. This makes me appear to be frozen. I think it is more of a frozen picture/texture. So I cannot see any usual graphics like scenery or anything, just this texture. Every time I sign on, it asks me to receive the product, and I am faced with a massive image in the product packet of a white skirt and leg as it is so gigantic across my entire screen. I cannot move my camera. I can hear myself flying in the background, talking to groups, looking at my inventory, etc., but this picture appears frozen across my screen. All other programs are working fine on my computer. Here are my stats. CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F (2496 MHz) Memory: 16226 MB (Used: 1724 MB) Concurrency: 12 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 11 64-bit (Build 22631.3880) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050/PCIe/SSE2 Graphics Card Memory: 8192 MB Windows Graphics Driver Version: 31.0.15.2647 OpenGL Version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 526.47 I tried the SL viewer; I am on Firestorm. Here's what I've tried already. Reboot (both Firestorm and Computer). Restore to a different date, and update Microsoft Windows. I tried to TP to Hippo Firestorm, which I did as I changed destinations, but the graphic was still across my screen. I really could do with some help, as I cannot use SL now

Why Are Dancing Avatars Frozen For Me?
ColeLaScotta replied to ColeLaScotta's topic in General Discussion Forum
That makes sense. I have it set to 3. I am going to increase it. In malls, I see avatars walking, flying, and running. My download speed is 311.8, and my latency is 30m (Not that that makes any sense to me; I'm incredibly tech-challenged). It's every single dancing situation I am in. Whether in a club or a launch where avatars dance. I guess I will have to put up with it. It just looks weird, though, with avatars standing like statues grimacing. Oddly, I like looking at other avatars, not myself! -

No, it's Firestorm, I don't think I've ever used the Linden viewer. -

I'll turn mine down. I realise it's on full. My LOD is at 4, too not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks. -
Why Are Dancing Avatars Frozen For Me?

It's so weird because my fps is normally around 156 -256 fps at a distance of around 250. I never have issues in SL aside from this. -

Mines on 3, great idea I will lower it. -
I'm not really a clubby person (thank goodness, as if I were, it would be very boring for me), becauses when I do visit a place with dancing, the avatars are frozen in strange positions. Clearly, they are not 'dancing' on my screen. I am not very technical, but here are my specs (I think they are called specs). 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F 2.50 GHz 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) - draw distance is low at 160 at the moment, and no advanced lighting is used. Thanks for any help in advance.

So many years later this helped me the seagulls were driving me nuts!

Lately, I've been receiving a lot of friend requests. For example, I'll be on my land, and no one is there (I've checked the mini-map, for example), so it's not like they have seen my avatar around. It seems as though it has come out of the blue. One just sent me a friend request with accept or decline. Another asked if I was busy. It feels odd and off. Is this a scam, or what?

When I teleport, everyone else is a puff of red smoke
ColeLaScotta replied to ColeLaScotta's question in Technical
Thank you! I couldn't find that. Checking to see if it works again. Much appreciated. x -
I've seen loads of questions asking why people arrive as a red puff of smoke, but for me, it is the converse. I come rezzed, the place is rezzed, but the people are a red puff of smoke for ages. I had this problem before and solved it, but ugh! I can't remember why? It's happening again.

Just some feedback, I used customer help for the first time, and it was brilliant. Wow! They came and fixed it immediately. Thank you for your help, and thank you, Second Life staff.

My boyfriend and I have just moved to separate campervans in separate areas, and we love them by the way. Anyway, I am having major issues with mine. When I rez one, then another, the old one stays there. In fact, the same one stays there every time. I can render it, and when I come back, it's there again. Sometimes it is the same one, so I end up with two doors, two windows etc., in place of one. Then I paint it, and it seems to have two different paint jobs on it, which of course, glitches. My boyfriend's van is fine. Help!

Yes! It worked. Ty so much -
I purchased a new computer specially for SL (I know madness) - It's much better than my MAC, anyway, the fps are great at 60, my broadband which is wireless is very fast 178mbps, my memory is 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F 2.50 GHz and an NVIDIA geforce RTX 3050 - When I arrive at a new sim it rezzes super fast, my frames are at around 60 I have LOD on 4, I rez, but all the avatars around me rez as orange puffs first then turn into avatars. I noticed that I have the graphics on video, is this the issue? Or something else?

I really don't have any tech savvy at all but here are my Mac's specs 3 GHz 6 Core Intel Core i5 Radeon pro 560x 4 GB Memory 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 Ventura 13.1 Retina 4K I keep my draw distance low as if I am on heavy sims I am seeing 'cardboard' for a while. I also keep LOD low (is this necessary? as I get triangles a lot). I have heard that Mac Pro is better for the ultra experience but it sounds expensive. Is there any way I can improve my general experience here like be able to attend heavier events etc by adding on outside memory ability ., I realize the memory is low can one add on more memory? Some say this is a bad idea (not sure why or even how to get more memory). Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi, I know there are various ways of 'walking' in SL. When I decorate my homes I like to click to the point I want to walk to. (Hope this makes sense). Probably a bad habit I know? I normally can do this, but I recently purchased a home that has what I would term 'dead clicks', meaning I click here and there and I just basically stand still. 🤕 I know/think this could be because of scrips running in the object?, but how do I rectify this? I want to be able to click and walk as I call it! 🏃♀️ I've contacted the seller, so far no response. I'd really appreciate some ideas and help. I am not great technically but if you could tell me in a simply way?! That would help. Thanks again!😃

Hiya, I've often rezzed a fully equipped home for example. Then once the rez box is finished, I save and take the rez box away. Is there a way that one can put the rez box back at a later stage to then derez the house? How would one do this? The only way I can think of doing it, is to not save it and to leave the rez box there?

I love those quirky super realistic avatars, any ideas?
ColeLaScotta replied to ColeLaScotta's topic in Your Avatar
I'm going to try that too, I'd love to see the photos if you are ever around? I didn't realize the thread was still busy. Thanks for your input.
