So many years later this helped me the seagulls were driving me nuts!

Lately, I've been receiving a lot of friend requests. For example, I'll be on my land, and no one is there (I've checked the mini-map, for example), so it's not like they have seen my avatar around. It seems as though it has come out of the blue. One just sent me a friend request with accept or decline. Another asked if I was busy. It feels odd and off. Is this a scam, or what?

When I teleport, everyone else is a puff of red smoke
ColeLaScotta replied to ColeLaScotta's question in Technical
Thank you! I couldn't find that. Checking to see if it works again. Much appreciated. x -
I've seen loads of questions asking why people arrive as a red puff of smoke, but for me, it is the converse. I come rezzed, the place is rezzed, but the people are a red puff of smoke for ages. I had this problem before and solved it, but ugh! I can't remember why? It's happening again.

Just some feedback, I used customer help for the first time, and it was brilliant. Wow! They came and fixed it immediately. Thank you for your help, and thank you, Second Life staff.

My boyfriend and I have just moved to separate campervans in separate areas, and we love them by the way. Anyway, I am having major issues with mine. When I rez one, then another, the old one stays there. In fact, the same one stays there every time. I can render it, and when I come back, it's there again. Sometimes it is the same one, so I end up with two doors, two windows etc., in place of one. Then I paint it, and it seems to have two different paint jobs on it, which of course, glitches. My boyfriend's van is fine. Help!

Orange puffs of smoke?

Yes! It worked. Ty so much -
I purchased a new computer specially for SL (I know madness) - It's much better than my MAC, anyway, the fps are great at 60, my broadband which is wireless is very fast 178mbps, my memory is 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F 2.50 GHz and an NVIDIA geforce RTX 3050 - When I arrive at a new sim it rezzes super fast, my frames are at around 60 I have LOD on 4, I rez, but all the avatars around me rez as orange puffs first then turn into avatars. I noticed that I have the graphics on video, is this the issue? Or something else?

I really don't have any tech savvy at all but here are my Mac's specs 3 GHz 6 Core Intel Core i5 Radeon pro 560x 4 GB Memory 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 Ventura 13.1 Retina 4K I keep my draw distance low as if I am on heavy sims I am seeing 'cardboard' for a while. I also keep LOD low (is this necessary? as I get triangles a lot). I have heard that Mac Pro is better for the ultra experience but it sounds expensive. Is there any way I can improve my general experience here like be able to attend heavier events etc by adding on outside memory ability ., I realize the memory is low can one add on more memory? Some say this is a bad idea (not sure why or even how to get more memory). Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi, I know there are various ways of 'walking' in SL. When I decorate my homes I like to click to the point I want to walk to. (Hope this makes sense). Probably a bad habit I know? I normally can do this, but I recently purchased a home that has what I would term 'dead clicks', meaning I click here and there and I just basically stand still. 🤕 I know/think this could be because of scrips running in the object?, but how do I rectify this? I want to be able to click and walk as I call it! 🏃♀️ I've contacted the seller, so far no response. I'd really appreciate some ideas and help. I am not great technically but if you could tell me in a simply way?! That would help. Thanks again!😃

Hiya, I've often rezzed a fully equipped home for example. Then once the rez box is finished, I save and take the rez box away. Is there a way that one can put the rez box back at a later stage to then derez the house? How would one do this? The only way I can think of doing it, is to not save it and to leave the rez box there?

I love those quirky super realistic avatars, any ideas?

I'm going to try that too, I'd love to see the photos if you are ever around? I didn't realize the thread was still busy. Thanks for your input. -

Oh I love this post. Yes! I probably didn't word it well enough, however you have. Those that are unafraid, but in all ways, to be quirky, heavy, have a big nose whatever that means to them. I adore those avatars. They are to me, so interesting. For me personally I am over the 'very pretty' beautiful and sexy avatars. Or dashing handsome ones! Give me quirks any day! Thank you. -

I adore this avatar wow! -
I am so obsessed with very realistic quirky avatars. Human ones that is. Mine always lands up 'pretty' and a bit barbie to be honest. Any quirky avatars here that would be kind enough to share their pic and tips? In real life most people carry a bit of weight I suppose, some not, they have bad hair days, wear unusual glasses etc. is there a group I can join? I am so over the barbie look (as well as the supersized this and that). Any tips would be amazing.

I had the AstraZeneca, no side effects bar a bit of sleepiness. Hey better than COVID right? Anyway, the thing is having had AZ it is hard to read all the negative reports on it. Particularly when Pfizer has had near the same amount of issues. (Yes nearly as high clotting) I was going to delve into the government reports and yellow card reports but haven't had time. Perhaps the whopping price of Pfizer makes it something to 'fight' for. I am not one for medications, hate them, but forced myself to go. Felt it was the right thing to do on many levels. For example my country might not have many cases but I could meet a visitor one day from a place where it has issues right? I am going for my second AZ in June anyone else had AZ and feel OK about the second dose. Need moral support!!

The part I find amazing is that Pfizer has had nearly the same amount of clotting but the reports are hard to find. Very odd.

Could be that AZ is cheaper?
