  1. Yes, Skinnery's current skins are sold as face only. They sell their matching body skins separately in the Skinnery main store. It's nice that you're helping her out and we are glad to help too. Most skin creators these days will sell their faces and bodies separately.
  2. The tattoo skin she is wearing, is it for the body or the face? Either way both of those need to match the other. The order you put on the head, body and system skin you want to wear doesn't matter at all with how tattoo layers stack. Face skins often come with a neck layer that is blended so you may want to wear the body tattoo first and then put on the face. You can also find neck blends from a lot of shops that either match the face skin tone or the body skin tone. But when wearing a face and a body that are already matching tones the extra blending isn't usually needed.
  3. You already got some good advice! Also, it looks like you need different applier lashes (yours look lighter), you need heavier winged eyeliner and remove the lipstick (really changes the shape of the mouth) if you are trying to match the shape vendor photo more closely. The shadow of the fold of your hooded lids is so deep its almost hard to believe that is just a darker tone of the same skin as the one in the vendor photo. But the vendor photo is not as sharp.
  4. Yeah, we agree that the only thing changing is the breast shape. What I meant by it having less difference was that the breast shape change of bombshell vs legacy is not as obvious as reborn vs waifu. Which for me gives it less value. I might buy something that is quite different but I have no reason to spend on something that is almost what I already have. The fact that they are charging the full body price for just a chest mod is a separate issue. It's annoying and bad customer service, but they did the same thing with perky and I bought that. So that alone isn't enough to keep me away.
  5. Yes the perky, perky petite and regular legacy body all have the exact same lower body. The gap you mention doesn't bother me, perhaps it depends on shape or perhaps its just personal preference and what stands out to you won't stand out to me.
  6. Looks pretty good to me but the difference is not that big since the lower body didn't change. Its more of a breast addon than a whole body make over, like I expected when I first heard about it. The difference between Legacy and Bombshell in my opinion, is not as big as the difference between Reborn and the Reborn Waifu chest addon, let alone the Mounds addon. I'm not tempted to get it right now.
  7. Haha goodness I'm sorry for laughing but that is an amusing issue. Rowan is right, it is just bright sunlight hitting your feet while the rest of your body is in shadow. I'm glad you posted pictures or we NEVER would have figured it out.
  8. Jake is probably the best fit, as far as finding lots of clothes even though its older most makers still include it in their sizes. Its a good price and it still looks good. I want to also suggest Anatomy too though. Its a much newer body, and it seems to often be on sale for around 2kish if I remember right. There are not nearly as many clothing options, but if your friend doesn't want a huge wardrobe there are plenty of things out there to find including weekend sale items. I haven't put Jake back on since I got Anatomy, but how much he likes it will depend on the sort of shape he wants to make.
  9. My guess is that it was a Catwa head animation you saw because they have some pretty cute animations and the lip bite is one of them.
  10. I have been playing with image2image on https://leonardo.ai/ using the free options. Mostly throwing in old screenshots some 10 years old or more.
  11. I tried out the demos, they did a great job but they are not unique enough to get me to purchase right now. Still I am glad to see another place putting out quality heads. I'm a collector and enjoy variety. The current sale price would of 2300L be enough to get me to buy if I saw something I loved and didn't already have. Both heads are nicely shaped, I am super impressed that they came out with a male head right off the bat. I like the HUD, its easy to use and laid out well. I had some problems that might just be on my end, getting used to it. The BoM button for the eyes didn't seem to work. I had a few issues with the ears, at one point turning on both elf and human ears and no combo of buttons I could figure out would get the extra pair to go away. I also managed to clear my evoX ear layer at one point when wearing the evoX head, and the reset button didn't bring it back. I couldn't figure out how to fix that either and I consider myself pretty good at HUDs like these. These are issues wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't clicking around on all the buttons though and a fresh unpack could solve it if nothing else. The men's HUD is exactly the same as the women's. So same makeup options, no beard options and the same eyebrow options which are all pretty obviously female shaped brows. The eyebrow positioner on the HUD for applied brows gives a ton of freedom in moving the brows around the head, making them close together and super high or very low. UHD textures are not impressing me. I didn't see anything especially crisp about the UHD even when I zoomed in super close on problem areas like the eyebrows. It's possible with a different skin creator it might be noticeable, but LAQ is probably going to be the only one releasing for UHD and I can't tell till I demo with someone else's skin. I'd say its basically equal to evoX, and a few small issues make it worse. There is texture smearing on the sides of the head, by the cheeks and under the chin. It isn't at all noticeable under normal zoom, but it might be an issue when it comes to face and forehead tattoos. The top of the head has a little shadow dot that you'd never see unless you go around bald like I do sometimes. I did love the textures they used for the teeth, and tongue is nice too. The men's head has an issue with the teeth texture causing some dark spots that I expect they will fix. I'm sure there are many issues getting reported that they will update and solve. But for me that tooth texture currently is like having a piece of spinach stuck in the teeth and would be enough to keep me from buying. The makeup options are not great which is a problem since I don't expect many other shops to be releasing for UHD and lelutka lash and makeup HUDs won't work with this head. The feeling I get when I look at the lipsticks and eyeshadows is that they were cut out from real photographs ( I know that's how makeups typically start) and not very processed for use in SL. The thin winged liner has a white halo around it. The eye pupil animation is neat but I also am not a fan of all the eye textures. The browns and the first blue are sorta blurry while the other blue and hazel colors have beautiful detail. The animations are pretty cute, the sad face animation is so adorable with the skin under the eyes wiggling just about to start tearing up. Many of the animations move in tiny ways, like the giant smile has the bottom lip moving as if straining to keep the pose. Makes it more realistic than a static expression. The saved looks are very easy to save and to change, and shows what you will be applying when you press it. The response to shape sliders is okay I only tested them on the female head. It seemed there wasn't much that could be done to the mouth that wouldn't make it look weird. Lip thickness and especially lip ratio pretty much should stay at the default or risk distortion. The mouth gap on the corners is tiny but noticeable and its one of those things that would bug me.
  12. You'll need to apply the top to the tattoo layer. Your dress fits too closely to the body to fit the underwear layer under it. If it still pokes through with the tattoo layer then there isn't much you can do except look for a net top that is made with system layers, if your skin is BoM. I've seen many.
  13. Well, I look forward to seeing another example of the Supreme UHD other than the one pictured which is heavy handed on the details. In real life I am glad people see my face from a foot away and not from an inch away with a magnifying glass in their hands. The limits of human vision can do us a kindness.
  14. I don't think these particularly fit everyone better than anything else, unless you mean everyone that is willing to take their mesh body off. Then its true hehe. I wouldn't bother with those unless you get specific requests you want to fulfill.
  15. If anyone knows where to find FlatX clothing feel free to post it here because I know it will be rare and I haven't come across it yet.
  16. This has been fun to read, good idea for a thread. I'd like to see some of the Magika suggestions posted earlier. My advice is to avoid styles with fringe that spills much over the cheeks and sides and conflicts with your whiskers.
  17. The necklaces are both from Yummy https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Yummy-Lenore-Pearl-Necklace-Set/23615961 and https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Yummy-Sharon-Layered-Necklace/22522802 except the longest pearl necklace I don't know where that is from. It reminds me of this other thing https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/piXit-Perla-Pose-Pack/25267415
  18. The whales who are really dropping money on clothes barely wear stuff from last month let alone years old content. Its a constant cycle of new and fresh. Compatibility with old items is great but moving away from that isn't going to hurt the brand. Releasing a separate body into the saturated market would have been a mistake. Of course time will tell, but in my opinion Maitreya is doing this in the best way possible for retention and new user uptake too.
  19. I would call it a wide brim felt hat. A google search result returns pretty good matches when I do that. Add "goth" and its even better and adding "flat" gets rid of some of the floppy ones. I see that some of the sites are calling it a wide brim fedora. Since the shops aren't coming up with better names I dunno if there are any better names.
  20. Wow I love this. I never thought I would see the day. Lara needed an update, she was falling behind in quality but still so popular, and the fact that this is free is just awesome. I expect creators will probably just stop rigging for the old Lara. I don't mind if old clothes don't fit the new body. If I want to wear old clothes, I still have the old body for that. Really, for any fixes to be useful it had to happen that way. If the changes were so small that everything fit perfectly it would be such a disappointment. I have barely been using Lara for the past few years now, I'm looking forward to using her again.
  21. I think as you suspect most of what you see in that hair is photoshop, but the most similar sort of hair to that in world, and probably what she is actually wearing is flexi hair with realistic hair textures. It can look great for photos but that sorta style has a ton of clipping issues and often only looks good from the right angle and with shopping to fix errors, but mesh hair can't look as photorealistic as a prim with a real picture of hair on it so it has its place depending on the style you are going for.
  22. I think finding shoe support wouldn't necessarily be a big problem. The HUD could be used to conform the foot to a static shoe if the shoe itself didn't bend, which I wouldn't really expect the shoes to do anyways since heel height could only ever look correct at one setting. I can think of a few cases where it could work like socks and sandals. Anyways if a popular body were to pick this method up, I would expect the new feet to be compatible with the old shoes. Maitreya updated and allowed the foot size slider to change shoe size and some began rigging for that while others just have you set your shape to size 25 to be able to wear their shoes. Rigging to the popularly used tailbone was hilarious and a big mistake, but maybe there are bones that could make the functionality trade off worth it. I don't rig so I wouldn't know, don't know what options there are to choose from. Everyone wearing 5 pairs of feet all the time does make us heavier though as far as I understand it.
  23. Before Slink shut down, they released a new body Cinnamon and Chai which had a foot that was rigged to bend. There weren't different mesh shapes, just one with animation moved it from flat to high. So it can be done, though as far as I know this was the first and only body to do it. Check out 0:42 in this video
  24. Oh good, which did you end up going with? Post a pic too if you like!
