  1. coming from a bit of a computer music/audio background I did a lot of research on ssd and hd and the general consensus in the audio community is that programs go to ssd and data to hd, one of the main reasons being to do with the way in which they mechanically work..its better for a ssd not to be wiping and rewriting all the time, works much more efficiently if the info on it stays pretty constant such as an operating system and programs. HDdrives are designed for a lot of frequent scrubbing and rewriting, changing of files, etc so perfect for data and caches. I wouldn't install caches on an ssd, if you want to maximise your investment of that drive keep it for running hosts and let the HD deal with changing data demands. So my advice would be fs/viewer on the SSD and cache on the HD. Ram drives do work especially well for caches but again have it write them after to a HD drive not a ssd (they write their data on close). As previously mentioned I would not use one unless you run with 16gig. Regards
