  1. I was at a sim and there were over 50 people at an event at the "Steel Patriots Swamp" there was a DJ and with this many people they never made Whats Hot or a listing in Clubs....so you like have to register to make these listing or is this just compiled on real time stats...I would like to know.

    Thank You,

    Trish

  2. Missing inventory is a real simple fix.....all you need to do is increase your cache size...Under Network and Files   click the Directory tab and triple the cache size....the default is waaaaay too small with all the things most people have. After you make the increase in size go to a deserted sim and your inventory will repopulate in a few minutes...

  3. I had the same problem....and the root cause of it is the default size of Firestoms cache is way too small  so go to setting  network and files....and in the document tab make your cache much bigger.....I tripled the size of mine.....before you leave that page......there is a reset button for the cache.....reset then reboot and go to an area that has no one around so you can upload all of your outfits into Firestorm......I had no problem with the SL viewer.....it always showed all the items in all my outfits. Simple fix   increase the cache size.....reset Cache....and reboot and done.

A sandbox allow you to place boxes on the ground so you can open them to unpack items you bought. This "box" can look like anything, from a plain crate to a truck.

Because it is often inconvenient to teleport to a sandbox, many designers use different ways of unpacking things. They often have "wear" or "add" in the item description. They often appear as a shopping bag or something you hold in your hands. Some start the unpacking directly. Some want you to click it, some give you a menu where you must click "unpack".

But you ask for old school ways of open stuff, where you place it on the ground. Most of these demand action from you, that you click it and select open, then copy to inventory.

I have used Edtech Island sandbox. It is okay to use. http://world.secondlife.com/place/e5a056ff-c8d2-4b16-9b03-d376e5470d18

If you land on the road, walk out on the open sand area.

Cleaning up means that you delete what you have placed there before you leave. Most times by deleting them, or else you can take them back in your inventory.

This is courtesy to the sandbox owner and the others who use the sandbox. A land can not hold an infinite number of items, we call them prims, but the 100% correct term is land impact. So you pick up your stuff when you are done, so it's not counting as land impact.. As long as it is on the ground, we say it's "rezzed" it is taking up land impact.

Sandbox owners know people forget it, so they set land to "auto return" so it is cleaned every 2, 3 or 4 hour. But it is still nice and polite to clean up after you, but if you crash and are logged out in a sandbox, it is no disaster. It will eventually be cleaned up.

    Imagine that ...a dead link

  5. Yes I find it very frustrating....they want to make sales....sell land make money. I just want to go to a place where I can easily find a place to unpack my purchases . I've been two months and this simm is not user friendly at all to a new player.........should have a button some where  called "UnPack" that would teleport to a place where you can unpack rez or were ever to use the stuff you just paid for..........If you make this too dam hard how do you expect to attract and KEEP new players. A destination  called public sandbox would be a real PLUS  in this Simm I'm ready to just quit and find something else to occupy my time and money

  6. Well Mery maybe if you would have thrown out the acceptable term instead of beating around the bush so to speak...those folks wouldn't have made the mistake. And blowing up like a party balloon with with your rant did educate anyone,  or advance the cause. maybe a paragraph on how you and the rest of us would like to be referred to. I've most probably been dressing longer than you have been alive....so  when  you get older and get a thicker skin you'll do just fine I think and not be butt hurt in the future. best of luck to you and may you have a good journey in life.
