Hey, I'm new to SL and still trying to figure the game out! Would love to make some friends (I've only made one so far!) - whether your a newbie too or more experienced! It'd be great if someone could show me the ropes with SL, but we could also just socialise and become friends

I'm new to SL and I'm finding editing my avatar and changing outfits/clothes a bit tricky. Does anyone have any tips and tricks for when it comes down to customising your avatar? Recommendations for free clothes and other items would be greatly appreciated too! Also - I found some free clothes in one of the new-user friendly 'spaces' (is that what you call them?) and I was trying on a crop top and wanted to wear some pants with it however it would only let me wear either the crop or the pants? Am I doing something wrong or is there a certain thing I need to do to wear both at the same time? I obviously don't want to walk around naked so I''ve been sticking to dresses haha!
