  1. I've been enjoying making "arm and finger" avatar animations via Blender keyframes exporting to Second Life, and am now wanting to make my animations move the entire Avatar in X Y Z space while the joints are animated.  Specifically, I have a "jumping forwards" animation in Blender which works as I want (the avatar is seen leaping from atop one cube on to a cube a few meters in front of it).  BUT, Importing that animation into Second Life, and my Avatar performs all of the joint animations, but none of the movement "through XYZ space" - so I see it just fixed in one spot doing the animations.

I've keyframed them as Location, Rotation - doesn't do it; and then Location Rotation and Scale; still fixed in place.  I know when I animate using AnyPose, those XYZ motions work.

Anything I should be looking at in Blender's menu?

Thank you for any guideance, new to animating and want to do more.

  2. I created a keyframed animated object (a water droplet) in Blender that moves and changes scale as it "moves" - simple enough.

But when I tried to export it as a .dae to then be imported into Second Life, only one of the keyframes was imported.  Namely, it was one of the droplet objects, but not animated.

When selecting options for the Exported Object, I believe the Animated checkbox was checked, but is there something else that I need to do as well?

Do I need to hi-lite all of the keyframes I used to make the animation?  Do I need to select keyframes 1-36 (for example)?

    Much appreciated any guidance,

    Missa Sprout

  3. You might wanna try MOBILE GRID CLIENT if you have an Android phone.  Benn using it for a couple of years now.  Doesn't let you "see" or "move" but you can Chat and TP around and work in your inventory.  Basically all of the communicating in SL you want.  It is a subscription after the first month, but I think its worth it.

  4. MOBILE GRID CLIENT - not a very catchy name, BUT, I've been using it for nearly 2 years on my Android Phone and it lets me IM chat, see the MAP, Give Items from my Inventory, work on my Inventory, TP to places and get TPed...   It does NOt let you SEE or MOVE your Avatar - so basically where you logged out in SL is where you'll login on the App.  BUT, I've been TPed to events and nobody was the wiser, and chatted for hours.  You can see who is nearby you (it shows in meters).

I think the first month is free, and then its a monthly or yearly subscription. BUT I can keep in contact with my SL friends anywhere I am in RL.

  5. I have a robot that i can sit on (formed of 5 prims) that rotates and moves forward/backward along the Z axis.  It is basically a 1 speed vehicle in that sense.

But - sometimes, if it makes contact with a boundary wall it will "fall over" or "flip entirely over 180 degrees"

To fix it I have to go into EDIT and fix the rotation for X and Y back to Zero.

Is there a way to either always have X and Y rotations always be zero, or a rotation sensor to check for anything "not zero" and make it zero?

Thank you for any pointers.  Scripting is Amazingly fun and I'm brute-forcing trying things for a solution, but so far no success.

    Mwuah,  Submissa. 😁

  6. The 13th Annual Sci-Fi Convention ends today (May 24th) but you still have time to pop over there and enjoy it!

    https://scificonventionsl.wordpress.com/

Comprised of 8 different themed areas and scores of creative exhibits and shops, I cannot stress enough that you ought to pop over there when you can and soak up the experience.

Specifically, I'd use the links found in the wordpress site (above) and start at BROKEN PROMISE and check out the PandaPanda store with kinetic sculptures and interesting Radios; and the Gundam Park with the POSE booth! Pose Booth at Gundam (see example below).  Then at ALIEN INVASION is the United Commonwealth of Planets, and my fave, the Eclectic Stars clothing booth.  in MJOLNIR ILLUMNE COLONY you must see the alien gardens in Color Alchemists, Color Alchemists and the MB3 Shop always a treat to try out the various equipment, and don't miss the Crosstime Garage shop - those vehicles..  WOW.  Then TP over to MAINFRAME and ride on a TRON LIGHT BIKE -  Tron Bikes  you can turn the light beam on and ride all over that themed area.  its intense fun, ride around with a friend in a 2nd bike!

Of course, and full disclosure, I'm in their group, go to A QUIET TOWN - and ascend the stairs at CASSANDRA CROSSING and enjoy a very detailed Dieselpunk City being attacked by Robots.  Check out the battle trench, and the cute lil baby in the stroller,  Not My Baby and then go up the library stairs and thru the elevators to the top secret Dance Hall!

These are of course my own ideas of interesting, and i'm sure you'll find your own.

Please do remember to VOTE Voting Kiosk and to donate to the charity for medical research.

  7. This is a question about Avatar walking waypoint scripting.

I recently saw on Marketplace a script called "Action Script" which claimed to let you set your X,Y,Z location of your Avatar as you moved it, waypoints if you will, and also set waiting times (in seconds) at each waypoint.  Ideally it would let you then set your avatar on "Autopilot" so you could Away From Keyboard, yet leave your Avatar to semi-believably wander a region.

It didn't work at all well or reliably. I have a message out to the creator but in the meantime...

It did get me to thinking, what script would one use to make an avatar walk (not stand on a "vehicle/moving prim") from point-A to point-B (and further?)  I imagine there must be some X,Y,Z positioning script as we use it for Teleporting.

Anyone to lead me in the right direction (pun intended)

    Thanks,

    Missa

  8. Sometimes I am using my Mobile Phone Text Viewer (Mobile Grid) to keep in touch with my friends in SL.  But I cannot move my avatar around, so it is basically a statue.  I'd like to give a little more "life" to my avatar in these situations

I do have a dance animation that, if Added before logging off, will activate simply, by using a keyword entered into the Nearby Chat field on my text viewer, activating the dance.

Would there be some script someone has that I can set with keywords that will activate one or more Animations that have been added to my Avatar?

    Example:

Walk1: Activates a walk in circle.

Sit1: Makes my avatar sit on the ground.

Are these really some form of GESTURES with keyword activation?

    Thank you for any pointers!

    Hugs,

    -Submissa

  9. I created a prim (a disk) and placed it on my land near my house.  Now if I try to click on to select/edit the disk only the house is selected.  Is there a way to deselect the house and toggle to select the disk?  I even zoom right in and still the house is selected.

Sure, I can move the house UP temporarily out of the way to select the disk prim but I don't want to do that every time.

    Help!

  10. I request an object to be made, you can cobble the shapes together if that is easier, but in the end, it is 1 linked object, resizeable.   A female elf, ears pointing to the sides rather than close to skull, riding a full maned lion.  On a round fluted pedestal.  I will pay a very nice price.  This would have a stone texture.

I also would like a name engraving.

    Thank you, Submissa69
