You can certainly try your old Signature skins with the Gianni body demo to see how they would look together. The fingers and toes may look funky on mesh digits because the old UV maps being made for blocky hands & flipper feet. Fortunately there are BoM fixes available on the marketplace for that.

Nope, not at all hopeless. Since you said you want to stick with your signature look, you can post a picture of your avatar in your usual outfit and someone might be able to suggest skins, heads, bodies, and clothes. Before you drop money on big ticket purchases, pick up all the demos you can get your hands on and try them out.

You must've ignored mine because you made your statement about absolute nonexistent Slink support right after I posted a Flickr Slink group link with recent activity. We know what you said. If nobody is making anything new for Slink there would be no posts in that flickr group dated May 2021. I just checked the calendar and sure enough we're in May 2021.

I second what @BookishMelinoe said about no deleting your other sizes. Free Dove is a good place for free stuff. Ajuda SL Brasil is another good place for freebies. You can also hit up Coco for their freebies as well, some come in standard sizes, and if you go in the center of the store, you can find some more freebies in sizes made for brand name bodies with free group join.

Slink is a nice body. Fortunately for women, clothes are easier to find. (Can't say the same thing for men.) While Maitreya dominates the market, Slink compatible clothes can still be found. Makes perfect sense. My advice is to take your time and be patient. They say "Rome wasn't built in a day." Shape, skin, and mesh body & head accounts for the final look of your avatar. So (continue to) pick up a bunch of demos for heads and skins that looks appealing to you and experiment with shape and hairbase/brow sliders until you get the look you're after.
