i think the base shape is slightly taller than what it originally was when i bought it but i never touched anything in the head. but i didn't add these eyes until i had already edited the height. it might be easier if i post a pic of the av to show what i'm talking about because it's not really a normal human avatar. i forgot i took a pic in the sandbox the other day. there are 'eyes' underneath the glowing ones but they're completely built into the avatar and do not move

i have a male and female version of the same character so they might count as alter egos... both of them have a demon form (and a human form but i have less pics to compare them). i changed the female since then but unfortunately don't have a good pic of her updated outfit. sorry if this isn't what you were looking for anyway though, on the subject of the demon, if you are using belleza jake i personally use these: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LEmporioDamned-Claws-Rings-Belleza-Jake-V2-BENTO/15264362 i think you can hide the rings but i don't remember. you can also change the color to pure black.

i like using eye movement/head movement for my other avatars though. it'd be kind of a pain in the ass to turn it off and on for just one avatar. i just don't understand why it's happening with these two objects. they are not eyes, they are simple objects. i have other avatars where i've attached things to the ear or eye and they are always in the right place when i load them. and also like i said the other object on the avatar never moves, but the eyes do. there is no editing this head tho. it is not bento. doing anything to the face won't change it.

i thought this might make sense but then i realized it doesn't happen all the time. i went the other day to do it; load up the avatar after having logged off, and they were in the right place. but when i went to do it again later, they were inside the head again. i can try saving it again when i get back on later though and see if it helps

i know i have like 3 threads in here right now but i have 3 problems. i'm trying to texture an avatar (Dawn Kingdoms Ripper) with a manual skin texture i bought. i am following the directions. it is for the correct avatar... i'm clicking 'select face' and 'edit linked' then dragging the texture in under the texture tab but instead of applying it just automatically switches back to the original skin. the skin is modify. the dinosaur is modify... so why isn't this working? i don't know what else to try. and yes, i asked in the group.

I have an avatar who's eyes are just two 'objects' set to a yellow glow. It has no actual eyes, they're kind of just painted onto the face so buying some glowing eyes would not work. I think I set them to the alt ears and they're fine if I log in and out with the avatar but the minute I put a new outfit on, and change back, the eyes end up somewhere wildly different. Sometimes, inside the head, sometimes outside of it. But the avatar itself came with an 'object' that's on the chest/stomach and it has never moved. why is this happening, and how can i fix it?

i already backed up the settings file and all my chat files so i can probably just put them back in. either way, i know what my settings were if i lose them anyway so it won't be too hard to redo them all.

her computer is marginally better, but i believe it has the same ram and crap. it's just a newer laptop. but i would think that if my laptop couldn't handle this before, i would have known in the first place, right? but the change is sudden. sudden and worsening over days. not like it was awful out of the gate. i uninstalled and reinstalled firestorm, cleared the cache, but idk if it made a huge difference. looks like firestorm didn't even get rid of most of the crap during the uninstall. all my text files/settings/etc were still present, and even after clearing cache when i went to where the cache was there was still a bunch of stuff from like, weeks ago which didn't get deleted. so i guess i'm gonna try to delete the entire firestorm folders, all of them, to make them restart everything.

my draw distance is set to 64, as it always has been. i have not changed any sl settings since this started happening and tbh, i don't want to. i mean before i could even run with advanced lighting on sometimes and it didn't even cause that much more lag. now i can barely do anything. but i have added a bit more extra information up at the top after doing some testing also i don't think discord has changed. it has always worked. now suddenly it doesn't. even with discord not connected because the minute i open sl it disconnected, i can't use firefox. i can ,but it' so slow it's barely worth it. i used to be able to be on discord, firefox, and sl at the same time. i used to browse marketplace on ff because i hate the in browser one. something else has changed, i just don't know what.

it has been getting so bad that i cannot even get on anymore. i can barely move. no one loads for me at all anymore. it's just disjointed parts. chat lags horribly. and now ,i can't even use firefox or discord at the same time. running sl causes discord to disconnect and i can't use firefox either. nothing loads i know i am sure this is an internet problem but i can't figure out what has happened and why it has gotten progressively worse. not to mention i will load in a sandbox, wait for my avatar to load and it will load alright, then when i go to another region stuff has unloaded, is in the wrong place, etc. and now i am DCing every other teleport and losing voice half the time for no reason. and it's not like that matters because all the voice comes through garbled. but what i don't understand is my frame rate is perfectly fine. sometimes higher than usual. but nothing else works... i do not have good internet, admittedly. it is not good but it has worked, albiet poorly. it just lags in some places. it has never been so bad that it completely takes up every ounce of my internet and is still unusable. i need to have my discord connected because i have an sl discord where we post our screenshots to explain things and if discord is unusable then that's a huge problem. i have changed nothing. i have restarted. i don't know what else to do. i have the highest speed internet i can get here. i cannot upgrade. i'm incredibly disheartened because i've sunk so much money into this ***** and now it's unusable. edit: i'm using firestorm i already reset my router. the only thing it did is make it possible for me to run discord at the same time but still no one will load, horrible time walking, impossible to hear voice. edit 2: today i tried on another computer. i installed firestorm on my gf's. when i first got on it loaded weird. i had to log on and off a few times. then i went into the other room and saw someone else living with me had something downloading on their xbox. i stopped it and it got a bit better. i ran around the sandbox i was in looking at people to see if they'd load. they did. went to my house, it loaded. i asked a friend to come in and voice chat with me while it was off and i could hear them a lot better. then i turned the download back on and asked them to talk again. they did get slightly more garbled but not nearly as bad as on my computer. so i feel like it's a combination of this huge file downloading in the other room and MY firestorm installation. I would like to repeat that I haven't changed anything in my settings. My draw distance is set to 64 and always has been. Advanced lighting is off. Graphics set to Medium. I know people will tell me 'just lower your graphics' but I want to know why I should have to. Why after months of playing at medium with almost nil issue, I no longer can. This is what I want to fix. I don't know if it matters, but I have local chat set to be backed up in case I need like receipts or something. Is it that the file is too large, maybe? Should I try to reinstall firestorm?

I'm sorry for posting twice in one day but I changed my avatar in honor of a certain band's final tour date of the year and this might be the last time these masks look like this. so I want to post it before the concert ends props if anyone knows what i'm going for (i hope) kinda put my own spin on it

I'm not sure, they get stuck sorta. I have this gesture I accidentally trigger all the time that is a thumbs up and once I do it the hand gets stuck that way and I gotta open the HUD and reset the hand shape. They also apparently get stuck in fists if you play a hand animation? or at least with the one I used and when I undeform my avatar after I've turned back from like, idk a dinosaur, and I'm all broken, my hands splay out like jazz hands. Thought this was just a common thing until nothing of the sort happened with Maitreya

I got Belleza Jake a while back, and I don't really keep up with announcements or anything. It says I'm wearing 2.1...Just wondering if it's been updated because I have some problems with the hands that I'm hoping might be fixed in an update

A lot of times when you log in in a laggy place it takes a while for your avatar to load all the way if it's mesh. This is why parts of them end up on the floor or in other weird places. You just have to wait for them to load. It helps if you log in in a place with minimal lag. If you have advanced lighting on, it might help to turn it off. I notice when I log in and it's on it takes a lot longer for me to load things. You can more easily turn it off if you're using firestorm by using alt+p, clicking the lights tab when it shows up and unchecking the box that says 'advanced lighting'

I'm having a lot of problem with sounds on second life. Every time I try to make a gesture the sounds seem too low. I have ripped them from various sources but always in Sony Vegas. As far as I can tell Sony Vegas doesn't make sounds quieter. But several times now if I don't edit the sounds (in sony vegas) and upload them to SL, I play them and ask my friends if they can hear them and they tell me it's practically inaudible. So I resorted to maxin them out and breaking the sounds because the gestures I made were for laughs anyway. However, I'm looking to make serious sound rips and I don't know how to do that without spending a bunch of money testing out every sound upload. So how do I accurately get the sounds uploaded? I can try audacity if I need to but I just use sony vegas because I rip the sounds from videos on there.

I've had some issue lately with advanced lighting, for some reason sometimes I'll have blurry avatars? It seems like it depends on where I'm at... I have my settings on medium but sometimes keep on advanced lighting because it doesn't make it that much laggier. but it seems like lately it's worse... And there's this weird issue around some of the eyes on some avatars. I'm gonna have to link it because you can only see the blurriness in the big images and I took a gif of the weird shine/blur around the eyes on one avatar blurry avatar

I don't have very specific stores that I shop at. I usually buy what I find that I like on the MP. That said, a store I really enjoy is RIOT or TwoSided. My male avatar has a bit of femininity to him. Usually black clothes. Dresses or long sweaters that double as dresses. Stockings and high heels/boots. Though his style lately because I just haven't changed it yet is ripped black jeans, a belted tank top and high heel boots with chains on them. It's kind of difficult to do anything with his style because despite the fact that I like putting him in feminine stuff, his body is belleza jake because I also don't want his SHAPE too feminine. There are not many options for feminine clothes for Belleza Jake, though, which is why most of what I get is at Riot and TwoSided. My female avatar...I haven't had it for very long, so her style isn't set in stone. But yesterday I put her in a suit top and pants and she looked really good so I'm thinking similar to her male counterpart, she'll be cross dressing in some way. And she is, indeed, her male counterpart. They're the same person basically, except one of them is a girl. They have basically the same face shapes.
