    Hope they do. Plenty of bodies have come out of nowhere and taken SL by storm in a short time. It can and will happen again. So I imagine that's why people with the skill and experience are still thinking of their next release. Every body on the market has flaws that could be improved on by savvy creators. Overly complex, problematic media based HUDs, weird feet (and hands, and shoulders, and knees, and thumbs, and elbows...) skinny calves that arent rigged to fat / muscle sliders, high waists, overly round hips, not round enough hips, difficult to shape, too much butt, not enough butt, shelf butt, too many deformers and addons needed to achieve certain looks, neck issues (mesh, but also materials mismatches, my 5k to the first creator that develops some kind of evox / mesh body material matching built-in) and the list goes on and on.

    I don't really get the objection. Designer groups and flickr accounts are advertising. It's the whole reason they exist. So if you follow brands on social media or join their groups, you are essentially opting in for advertising. Whether they are photos of outfits or videos made for tiktok makes no difference to me.

    I have this crazy fantasy of LL revamping the Library with things people will actually want to use. I know it runs to counter to the meritocratic, pull-yourself-up-by-your-digital-bootstraps techno-capitalist ideals of SL, but even if your product is not featured in such a library, ALL stand to benefit from better retention of new users.

    Retention of new users. A quality avatar that lets people jump confidently into the social aspects of SL without spending $100 and digesting a textbook worth of arcane technical jargon has massive value. If they stay, they will spend.

    My peeve tonight is when a store puts out a giant display for weekend sales but only some of the items are actually on sale. Feels shady and reminds me of dark patterns in UI/UX design. Sours me on the brand.

    Click tools on Google Image Search, at the top right, then on the left under color select "Transparent". Not perfect but it can help narrow things down searching for this kind of icon.

    Peeve: when a picture ain't a picture unless its got chromatic aberration, super fuzzy DoF, fake bokeh, lens flare and light leak overlays with a dutch angle and a faceapp smile. Pick one!

    Exactly! I always start by moving the graphics preset slider way low. Mostly because it was the one way to get an even number like 100,000 for my the complexity threshold. If I move the complexity slider by itself its always something like 114,016 or whatever and I just ... don't like it. I like nice round numbers! Then I tick off advanced lighting and a couple other things and that's my base quality setting.

    Peeves people, peeves! My cat's breath smells like cat food. That's a peeve. Things like genocide and the ongoing climate disaster are so far beyond that, it does them disrespect to be merely peeved! So anyway.... being the only naked one at a nude beach, that's my peeve of the day.

    I gave up on collecting gifts and it was honestly liberating. I don't want them, many creators don't seem to want to make them. No regrets! No more piles of boxed unsorted objects taunting me when I open my inventory. OK, that's not true😛 I've seen people call certain creators greedy for never putting out gifts and honestly, I just don't care. I suppose in a perfect world creators would not feel obligated to crank out dozens of gifts and the ones they gave would be freely given and of the highest quality. But for now, they can just make something I want at a fair price and I'll happily buy it.

    I hate this is my peeve but man, the amount of stuff I have to put on to feel like I am dressed to the nines at a club these days. Don't get me wrong, I love the creative looks people come up with but lately I feel like my outfit reads as unfinished if I haven't picked the right 2 rings for each finger, rolled myself in baby oil and glitter, attached neon tubing that flashes more than my GPU, fashioned a floating crown or glowing orb using some kind of wizardry, incremented my head pat counter, tamed the right animesh companion... Damn. I'm getting old.
