  1. Okay, I'm a Calas now, and if I mouse over that little box it says "building, dropping objects not allowed." So I can't rez my dog there? I'm guessing that's what it means.
  2. In the past, before my two year absence I would sometimes try to rez my dog at a sim, only to have him vanish and get a notice that I'm not allowed to rez him there, and then I'd have to go through a hassle to get him back. Is there a way you can tell if you can't rez your dog there?
  3. For me the home in Belliseria was enough, and it's just icing on the cake that I get that stipend as well.
  4. I had to go through a lot to get him back, and it was complicated, but I have him back now! I love my doggie
  5. Well for me it's an escape from RL, which I expect is was it offers most others. I live alone and work only two days a week and have no family left, so a time filler is called for, and it gets me away from the ugly politics that saturate the rest of the internet. I threw out the TV over 20 years ago, (commercials) and I don't think about what more I'd want it to be, it is what it is and that's okay with me. You can meet some nice people in SL, but of course you can meet not so nice people too, but at least in SL you can block them, or even derender and blacklist them. You can't do that in RL. Immersion I have covered with a 70 inch 4K second monitor and surround sound, so I'm good there, and you can have a nice house to decorate and fuss over, which fills more time than you might think. When things are slow in the rest of SL you can always go fuss over your house furnishings and decor. If you have a big house you can spend hours on that. It's also nice that you can look like anything you want in SL, dropping pounds and years at will, although I'll never understand why some want to look the way they have chosen. Being able to have a truly vast wardrobe at little cost is another plus. I guess the only thing I would change is the lag. If I could get rid of that I'd be pretty happy.
  6. Well it's a nice thought, but they all seem to have set landing points and there's prolly no getting around that.
  7. I really don't know, I thought maybe it was for security, to make sure you aren't bringing weapons or other nasty things in. I'm still not sure, but I wish I could just TP right to the dance floor instead of having to do that long hike.
  8. Frank's does this, Wet Willie's does this, and I think there must be a reason they do it, I just can't think of what it must be.
  9. I did that, and found that when I went to Fogbound most of the people were missing and the rest were nude, and it stayed that way, until I put the slider back to where I had it, and then everyone came back and they got their clothes back as well. So that advice didn't pan out for me.
  10. Oh I messed with it a lot, no such luck.
  11. Oh crap! Totally missed that! Thank you Rowan.
  12. Well this morning I bought a book case that was supposed to have books in it, and didn't, left a review saying so and asking what the deal is. Then I bought a plant for a corner of the house I wanted to put that book case in, and never got it, even though inventory says I did, it's just not there. I'm not doing so well with Marketplace today.
  13. Pet peeves: The creeps outside a building in a sim cam shopping on the women inside for someone to hit on. The creeps using the TP away trick at beaches, they shop for a woman they want to hit on, open an IM to her, then TP away to their seduction place to send it and try to lure her there. I hate that. If I get an IM from someone not in the sim with me I block them.
  14. Well I have been away from SL for the last two years, and no doubt much has changed I'm not aware of.
  15. Maybe I got the wrong slider? Yes I did. Okay it was under Network and Files. Got it now.
  16. Well I did move that slider all the way to the left while at Fogbound, and everyone in the place, regardless of avatar complexity, became a jelly doll.
  17. I have raised the complexity number out of necessity. If I go to Frank's, for instance, with a lower complexity setting of 100,000 over half the people there are jelly dolls, and that won't do. I've always wondered why anyone would need a complexity of over 300,000, and how they even arrive at that. My own is always around 62,000, and I've no reason I can think of to increase that. Well I put my complexity setting up to 200,000, and I can see most people now, but when I go to my house I cannot move for some time, perhaps until the house is completely rendered, I'm not sure why. I'll be working on it, I have a week and a half off work to monkey with it.
  18. I know, but now they are much more plentiful since I lowered my complexity setting. I used to see much less of them, and would derender those with complexities of 300,00 or more. Of course when you do that you can get IM's from people you cannot see.
  19. i think you might be right about that, I'll have to play with it, I can't have all those jelly dolls about.
  20. I don't have the lag in my house anymore, and it looks just fine with the adjustments, now for the real test. Fogbound. Well Fogbound rezzed a lot faster this time, but now there are a lot of jelly dolls standing around because I lowered complexity I guess. I'll just have to live with that.
  21. Have done that, clicked OK on the settings changes. Do I need to relog?
