Dog's name is Sam. Absolutely nowhere in the inventory, and I have one of the only organized inventories in SL.

If this is anything like Zooby babies you have to use a retrieval box (like the one in your photo that has a script error) to get the animal back. If you just rejoined you probably have an out of date retrieval box.  They give them out free for the babies but not sure about the animals.  Join the group for the zooby pets and ask in there. They will be able to tell you exactly how to retrieve it.

Try that group because I couldn't find a specific Zooby pet group. They will be able to help or at least point you to where to get help.

 

Oh I went to the Zooby store in-world and got a new box. It didn't work either.

Can't explain the "why" of it though.  IN THE FUTURE you should keep the UUID of your no copy animals. Then if they don't return in a day or so you can contact support and give them the UUID and that helps them find missing things. No guarantee's of course.    

I sure hope you are right about that Chic, and he turns up at some point. Otherwise I'm out my dog and all the money I paid for him. I have no idea what a UUID is, so no luck with that.

Okay I did that, and it highlights everything in the house, but my dog isn't there, and I used that to look under the house all around too, not there either.

Okay, I'll try that. I got in with the SL viewer, but I've not used it in 8 years and have no idea what I'm doing with it.

Yes, relogging was one of the things I tried, and I've checked inventory for him after that too, he's just not there.

Well he's not down there anywhere that I can see, and I've cammed all over down there, under the land it gets into water and I can't see anything in that either.

Well I have tried everything I possibly can, and cannot get my dog back. Someone told me he might be buried on my land somewhere, but I don't know how to look for that, and the retrieval box will not work. There is no way to contact the maker of the dog for support, so I guess I'm screwed and I've lost my dog. I'm very bummed here.

I had my dog attached to me to walk him at Calas, TP'd home, detached him and he vanished. Gone, not in my inventory. So I got out the retrieval box, clicked on it to recover him, and uh oh, it wont' work. Script warning debug error.... Yikes!

Any ideas?

For my part I like having my home to myself. In RL I have had many roommates, all of them nightmares, and now I live alone, for the last 7 years and love it. I would never have another roommate in RL, or SL. You never know who or what that other person will bring into your life and home. It's not worth the risk.

which has a little icon stuck to it.  Click that to change your profile pic and follow directions.  The image you upload and edit there will automatically get jammed into the circular frame when you post anything.

Thank you Rolig, and I'd like to ask something. How do you get your pictures in that circle in your posts? I've not been able to figure that out. I uploaded a picture today, but that didn't do it.

All you need is the avatar name (which is the same as the name displayed here in the forum on posts) to search people in-world, bring up the profile and choose to send an IM to that person.   Sometimes I think, if by reading posts here, someone thinks that you would be an interesting person to be friends with, they may look you up in-world to send you an IM and see if a friendship develops or not...   I would hazard a guess that there are a number of friendships started that way from the forums.

If it's someone sending you an IM that is not friendly, then I'd think about blocking them. 

Finding your location in-world and showing up there is more difficult (if not nearly impossible) but if you have picks in your profile of places you like to go to, or a pick for your home parcel, or you mention in the forums places you frequent, it's not improbable for someone to find you at one of those locations if they are persistent.

 

Oh this was just an IM, and of a friendly nature. I would hope people could not just show up on my doorstep! I see that you can offer TP's and IM, and that's quite enough. I don't have anything in my picks, so there's nothing to go on there. In my last SL incarnation I had a stalker after me, using multiple alts and really devious means. I don't use that account anymore, and I really don't want that happening again.

Recently someone who saw me here in forums found me in-world and send me IM's and she told me she had found me through the forums here. I'm not sure how she did that, it's not something I've tried to do. I'm not sure others would want me to either, I'm just wondering how she went about that.
