Would it be abnormal to have only a couple sets of clothes?
pinkpatrol replied to pinkpatrol's topic in Your Avatar
As I said I would... I now have the option of popping this avatar on when I want...which probably won't be too often. I like my little ones too much, but it is good to have options!- 37 replies

Would it be abnormal to have only a couple sets of clothes?
pinkpatrol replied to pinkpatrol's topic in Your Avatar
Update: I bought an avatar just to have the option. Even before I bought it I had no plans on getting a bunch of clothes, not because monetary reasons just because the idea didn't appeal to me as much as getting furniture. And now? OH BOY I DEFINITELY DON'T PLAN ON GETTING A LOT OF CLOTHES! I'm having a hard time with this avatar and am a bit overwhelmed. I've been watching different tutorials for about three hours now trying to figure out all these huds and learning about Omega which I always heard of but had no idea it was this useful. It's a slow coming process but I hope to have her looking okay and in her one outfit she's allowed per year as soon as I make this face not look like the Joker. The struggle of being me, I swear. -
how do your avatar look today Lazy and wearing a cat pajamas. So basically perfect mood and perfect clothes.

What if you woke up tomorrow, and SL had vanished?

I'd be sad and maybe even depressed knowing there will never be another environment like Second Life. Yes, there's stuff like Sansar and VRChat but neither feel or attract the same crowd as SL. On the positive side I'd save myself countless dollars from not being able to buy lindens anymore. That or I would find something else to waste my money on. -
Exactly. You summed it up perfectly. There will be days, weeks even when life is good and then out of nowhere you'll feel like your lost and your suffocating. I'm sorry for your loss of your dad, and thank you in return. *hugs* Stay strong. /end sadness before I cry again

Having lost my mom less than a year ago: no he won't. But he'll survive. I don't know if you lost your parents or not, so I might be preaching to the choir, but a death of a parent is something you never recover from, you just keep going.

I'm terrified of rodents. A big, aggressive rodent? If they ever reach my State I'm moving. I would like to change my answer.

What kind of radioactive, super mutant Chernobyl rat is that? Not, but seriously. What animals is that? I've been trying to figure it out for five minutes.

And in other news: People who wear animal avatars shouldn't talk because it breaks reality's TOS.

Great point! I'm actually feeling a lot better about sticking out like a sore thumb in some of the sims I visit. No need to fake it to make it right? I'm happy the way I am and hopefully I'll make some friends along the way. I guess I feel comfortable in my "second skin" once more! -

Update: I appreciate everyone's input and those who gave me links especially. I may use them, but at this time I plan on making a a proper human avatar only so I can get me some Ravenclaw outfits because I've always adored Harry Potter and since there's no new games of HP (that are worthwhile) I might as well use SL's imaginative creators to my advantage! (Also, Ravenclaw is best house. Fight me) Madelaine McMasters made me realize something. Something that I already knew but needed a reminder of. It's my Second Life. If people can accept me for the way I choose to play then me duding myself up just for them so they will tolerate me isn't the hallmark of a good friendship. -

I think this might be the best advice I've received in a long time actually. -

The casual outfit is a good idea. Also it's good to hear you don't think everyone is shallow. Maybe I've just ran into bad eggs. I don't know where to look! Care to share your secrets, Skell 🤩 -

I can get that. I'm that way with furniture. The only thing is not everyone you meet in world sees your home to judge you, but how your avatar looks can make people judge you pretty harshly. I already get judged for my current avatar which I'm 100% not retiring, it's just I'd hate to invest in a 'normal' avatar only to have the same thing happen again because I show up to the same place with the same clothes all the time lol I'm at least making a small attempt to fit in sometimes. I learned pretty quickly many, many people on this game are shallow over pixels. -

(in before someone makes a joke comment about how it's not normal to have two pair of clothes in real life. You smart alecks know darn well I'm talking about Second Life!) I've been thinking about investing in a proper bento head/maitreya body. Getting all that stuff, plus skins and appliers and hair will set me back about 40 bucks. It's okay though, because I kind of want to experience at least some of my Second Life looking like a normie. But honestly I have no intention on buying a huge wardrobe. In fact I'll probably max out at three outfits for the rest of the year. I would prefer to spend my lindens on things like decor and housing. Anyway, I wanted to know would it be really odd to continually see some random in the same couple sets of clothes? I don't completely know why I'm asking this, I just want opinions I guess so I know which degree to feel like an SL hobo. And if anyone else has a small collection of clothes, by choice or whatever, let me know. Maybe we can go dumpster diving together. -

Well. The gif is Jason Momoa doing a silly hip thrust. No explanation needed. -
how did you learn there were discussion forums?
pinkpatrol replied to kali Wylder's topic in General Discussion Forum
I was google searching for an avatar issue and a helpful result led me to the forums. Simple as that. -
Let's play a game. Well, not really. Let's share pics. The pic doesn't have to be a snapshot. It can be whatever picture you think sums up your Second Life. Gifs are acceptable too. Here's mind when I first joined, and after mastering the search function, and proceeded to transcended time and space as I realized there was little reason to go outside anymore.

I'm still laughing over the fact that the anti-necro posting thread got necro'd. Necroception!

Update: not much has changed excepted I re-added my wings and gained sick dance moves. (I've hardly decorated anything...)
