  1. Regardless of which pics survive, those who try to test the limits of the no nudity rule just shows how little respect they have for everyone else on this forum.
  2. It doesn't affect me much since I rarely use public bathrooms. But if there were individual stalls with locked doors, and the sinks are out in the open, I suppose that'd be ok. The only thing that crosses my mind is the fact that men and women typically use the amenities differently. For instance, I wouldn't feel too comfortable touching up my makeup at the mirrors with a stranger man next to me. And guys have told me about how badly some are at aiming their stream.. that'd make things harder for girls. But if a bathroom situation ever makes me uncomfortable, I'll just hold it in, no big deal.
  3. @AngieHawk I spent my first months only using freebies and store gifts. You can get a free mesh body that fits Maitreya clothes from LucyBODY. Go to their inworld store and click on the Midnight Madness board. You can also get a free mesh head from Genus store. It is a group gift. It was still there when I checked a month ago. Free skins - there are group gifts at Lara Hurley. And hair gifts - visit Navy+Copper store. There are many others but this is just on the top of my head. Sorry I didn't post landmarks, I'm on my phone. I wouldn't recommend spending on anything in your early days. Wait till you're comfortable with sl first. Learn the basics, go out and discover, then you'll know what to buy and what not to buy. Most things I bought early on I later regretted but at the time, I didn't know better.
  4. I actually get this in rl. Sometimes when I treat myself, people including "friends" give me grief as if my financial situation impacts them. I think people just like to comment on others even when it has nothing to do with them.
  5. Really depends on the group. Some groups are friendlier and nicer than others. You can ask the same question in two groups and get very different responses.
  6. Also creators who don't include the ad texture with their item is akin to people who work in a restaurant but never go to restaurants themselves. Clearly they don't know how hard it is to look for things in their inventory.
  7. Creators who ignore their customers. Their profile says to send a notecard so you send them and they just get ignored. They have time to set up for weekly sales so essentially they have time to take people's money, but once that's done, zero support. And in my case, it's something simple (I think) - their redelivery terminal doesn't work. Just fix it omg!
  8. I always notice eyebrows when they're more natural and "brushy" instead of looking drawn on with an eyebrow pencil. I like skins that already have this but if they don't, SimpleBloom has a good variety, including some messy ones too. With hair, the ones with strays and out-of-place strands can add a bit of life to your avi's look. Try tram and barberyum (or is it barberyumyum?).
  9. I did say some people, so yes while I agree with you that most can appreciate and understand what is meant by the reference, that's my read on why posts like these tend to get debatey. People can use whatever term they want, but at least be aware it's not going to be received well by everyone. Personally, I cater my wording when I post on forums and it's not to make anyone feel better but because I know it is going to be read by a bunch of strangers.
  10. Like most people, the OP just wants to meet people she'd have more in common with, but because of the wording it could come off differently to some. Black and white are colors, and for me I've been taught to not judge people by the color of their skin. But if it's cultural background, like hey I'm African American, anyone share the same background instead of the whole I'm looking for black people. Or hey I'm looking for Irish people like myself, comes off differently than I'm looking for white people. And same for those looking for Asian friends.. like, what kind of Asian is fairly important especially for language barriers. The idea of wanting to hang out with people based on the color of their skin.. I mean I get it but not everyone's going to love it.
  11. You've probably tried this already but just in case, have you used the search function to try and find them? Sometimes I accidentally drag stuff into other folders so I search the name of the items. Really hope you get your stuff back!
  12. If you do things that you like to do, you'll have a good chance of finding people who are "like you". But if you are really set on sharing a common cultural background, then I suppose you could search for groups to join. I've never searched for social groups myself but just a suggestion.
  13. I use a mixture of appliers and BOM, so yes I like BOM, but I also dislike BOM for the trend I've been seeing where creators completely ditch appliers altogether. On the extreme side, there are a few stores that seem to assume everyone loves BOM so they even replaced their old appliers with all BOM. Just give people a choice which to use! BOMs great, but so are appliers.
  14. I don't bother with JIRAs anymore, they never seem to go anywhere.
  15. I think it's part of an ongoing problem with the profile feed. People have mentioned being unable to unlove posts as well. After refreshing, it just reverts back.
  16. Can this actually be done? I've looked for a way to do this before but don't think I found one. Would be so handy!
  17. There a lot of old items that are amazing. I even think some of the older stuff are better than the new, so my answer is no. Plus, if they purge, I imagine that would mean people can't have redeliveries of their older purchases as well, so double no.
  18. I wouldn't bother trying to contact the person. Since she claimed to have blocked you, she wouldn't get your IMs nor would she want to. You can resolve the situation by not spamming anymore. I have reported people for this even if they only sent me one advertising message, as they often include links, which I would have no way of knowing whether they are safe or not. I report both to store or land owner where I got the message and to LL. I'm just telling you so you know that this is expected behaviour should you choose to continue advertising to randoms.
  19. Sometimes I see posts from people looking for friends/relationships with paragraphs of demands and prerequisites. It's like they're already dragging their baggage into a friendship that doesn't even exist yet. They come off demanding and make it seem like they're going to put people through a screening test or an interview to see if they qualify. Yeah, no thanks. I think most people respond to positivity. So instead of posting all the things you hate and dislike, like no drama, no mind games, no to a whole bunch of other stuff, it's probably better to say all the things you do like.
  20. Agreed. The flag categories are very limited. The few times I went to flag something, I ended up aborting because none of the categories covered it.
  21. I agree but when anyone makes a public announcement, they choose to make it everyone else's business.
  22. Well they're very timely with some announcements. They announced the higher fees less than a month before implementing it even though they claimed it was a very complex process. But yes, if people keep seeing year old public announcements and then hear crickets chirping, I'm not even saying it's disappointing, it's embarrassing and it smells like failure. I'm talking in general now because I don't really want to slam LL. I'm sure they're doing the best they can. But that is the reality of company image. It just looks bad.
