  1. @Evangeline ArcadiaThanks for sharing the pics, and yes, I feel a lot better now. Lots of tea helped! πŸ˜„
  2. Do they all have different roles? In the group profile menu, go to "Roles" settings and check for each if "Reveal members" is enabled. Hope this helps!
  3. It seems there is something going on. My friend has the same issue. No viewer login possible ("wrong password"), no dashboard login possible ("Bad Gateway 502").
  4. Sounds indeed like a "cool down" (scheduled redelivery with no option to choose the time/date yourself), see also here:
  5. Awesome! Next step is to take a picture and to post it in "How does your avatar look today" πŸ˜„
  6. Hello, these tutorial videos might help you to get started and understand what's happening / what you are doing:
  7. Today, I stumbled over the P.A.T. rezzer at the Welcome Hub. The rezzer is next to the train station and brings you to the BelliHub. I hope they offer more destinations in the future. I think it's a nice and comfortable way for newcomers to start travelling and exploring.
  8. I realized just now that the bridge to the Welcome Hubs can be used with a train now. Yay! πŸ₯³ https://gyazo.com/bf20c08f38da854f4c12e83401e109b4 Edit: Did anyone else give the Personal Automated Transport a shot already?
  9. I couldn't be more confused. So because someone helped newcomers at LL Hubs in the past while the mentor programme was disabled, they feel personally attacked if they are made aware to let mentors do their job first now that LL reinstalled it? We can agree to disagree but to me, that feels like crashing into a building class elsewhere and telling students how to build while disregarding the teacher's existence. On their property. If we were in their shoes, wouldn't we all prefer to be offered help and asked for consent first before action is taken? Now, I do understand that people would love to help but just can't commit to the mentor role requirements, such as x hours per week. But when did we stop being creative? I'd say, there are many other ways to support the mentors. If I ever have enough time, I might drop by spontaneously and ask them if they're fine if I offered the present newcomers an impromptu tour around Mainland and/or Bellisseria so they can get a bit of an idea what SL could be about.
  10. I recommend asking in-world in the Teegle group. They provide a regularly updated notecard with current nice places for horseback riding with information about a rez zone on location or nearby, or horse rezzers. You can also visit their website which includes more details about the riding locations: https://www.teeglepet.com/blog/categories/riding-locations
  11. I finally found some time to visit the Pride At Home region. I highly recommend the exhibits about historical figures, support groups, etc. etc. The organizers put quite some effort into providing education. My favourite exhibit was the dance floor where my avatar was vogueing while I could read up some interesting history about it. Unpopular opinion: Jesus and his 12 disciples, all men, all travelling, celebrated a long-life Pride Parade 😜 Take note, and spread more love and happiness! πŸ₯³
  12. To add to @Claireschen Hesten post: you can also look for an abandoned parcel you might like and write a support ticket to LL if they would sell you the desired plot. In this case, LL usually charges 1L$ per sqm. From my experience, such tickets are usually answered within 24 to 72 hrs. Another possibility is, in case you would prefer to be part of a residential Mainland community, to search for one you might enjoy and ask the community leaders if by any chance there was an adjacent parcel available to be sold to you. In such a case, you might also be lucky to be included in their infrastructure builds, e.g. a road connection to your parcel.
  13. I notice mainly 2 goals being mentioned in the discussion and the application forms: 1- basic assistance to get started as @Sid Nagy also layed out in this post ; 2- further assistance to become part of the overall SL community and motivate newcomers to stay. In the past, many have mentioned how long it took them to get started with the viewer basics at all, and that it was often enough pretty overwhelming. With that in mind, all the ideas being put into what a mentor position could be, or what those mentors would help with, seem to me a bit too enthusiastic/optimistic and underestimating the effort needed to provide that kind of overall assistance. It also feels a bit like reinventing the wheel when instead you could just continue to build the shell with experienced residents from the many, already existing groups/communities that share various interests. If I had a say in this, I would - agreeing here with @Sid Nagy - let mentors assist with the basic skills only. As for everything else, I'd prefer to work with who and what is already available. We have a huge number of well-known, popular and respectable groups/communities in SL who provide help for topics such as building, scripting, blogging, fashion, exploring, driving, roleplaying, and many more. Some of them are known on the grid for almost as long as SL exists. Networking with these groups (e.g. through appointed contact persons, portal HUBs, special welcome events etc.) would also be a nice way to support and acknowledge their long lasting efforts for the SL community. At the end of the day, people join and stay because they were able to make stable connections with people who share their interests. TL;DR: Basically a good idea but lots of room for improvement.
  14. I missed your original post. That's awesome news! Thanks for your effort to make the proposal! πŸ₯³
  15. I will probably be too busy to count exact numbers. But here are 2 recent experiences to share: - About 3 days ago, I joined one of their flights on the same route. We were about 5 passengers. I remember only one person who got stuck: myself, because I got caught by an unexpected zero security orb. - Last weekend, we hosted a tour along the Great Wall by jeep and bus (the Iwaki model from GEMC). On the bus, I had about 10 to 15 passengers. I remember 2 incidents where someone fell off. Did you experience major issues lately when travelling with passengers? Thanks a lot! I tested the ski jumping quite a few times and didn't break a leg so I have high hopes that an ambulance will not be needed 😁
  16. Join us for a flight from Gateway International Airport to Chamonix City Regional Airport. The pilots of Starlight Corporation will bring us to our destination. We will then continue our tour by bus to visit the Glacial Park to see historical animals, and Chamonix City to test our skills in bobsleighing and ski jumping. At both airports, you can also collect a passport stamp. If you'd like to grab them, you can find the free passports at the Bellisserian Embassy Sansara (Sansara/Generic passport), or at the BBB Headquarter (Bellisseria passport). Tour Date: Saturday, November 12, 12pm (noon) SLT Meeting Point: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Meighen/110/144/144 We recommend to detach unnecessary HUDs, attachments and scripts to avoid getting stuck at region crossings/borders.
  17. You could have a look at Teegle and start your journey from there. If you visit their site, click "Things to do" on the menu bar, then choose "Event Calendar": https://www.teeglepet.com/ Other options I'd personally recommend is to visit Moorcroft which is a very active community on Mainland, and they host also many events. Or join the Bellisseria Riding Club which is an active group offering trail rides regularly. There are many more equestrian communities and groups, of course! Good luck.
  18. There was no time to decorate for Halloween but at least a bucket is out at Chalet Alpenrose in the Maple Heights region. Happy Halloween! πŸ‘»
