  1. We have a newly made neighborhood with private parcels. Houses provided but can be changed. 14 lots, park, and beautiful landscaping. No parcel greater than $250L, with anywhere from 307-384 prims. House prims are included in prim allotment- that means you have what is left over. It's residential. No breedables, no farming, no prim babies. Want to see? Here is one parcel's SLURL - come visit the houses and see if there is one you love! All parcels come with full sky for platforms, privacy/security and attentive customer service. Come see for yourself! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Momil/164/78/64 The photos are examples of the quality of homes there.
  2. G&S = is a farming / RP medieval / gorean RP enhancement system.
  3. I'm in a RP city- in the same boat as you- got tired of Gor and I have a TON of G&S and used to farm incessantly as well. I'm in a place called Acacia Falls- and RPing as the Principal of a school. It's modern day RP with families, child avatars, etc. we don't have any farmers, but I know the owner will probably be willing to accommodate a small farm. Look me up in world. There are other modern day cities as well, but this is where I settled.
  4. I have been trying to manage the listings in the store I'm managing- yet when I click on the link- it takes me to the create store page. I restarted, I logged out and logged back in, I had someone take me off as manager and add me back- and others can manage the same store- I just can't. What could be happening, and how can I fix it so I can do my job? Any ideas?
  5. This irregularly-shaped parcel is any decorator's dream! The shape lends itself to creativity, easy terraforming, and lots of room on a roadside! At 4736m, Plenty of space for rivers, waterfalls, trails, roads, or gardens. Show us what you can do! VERY quiet neighbors with roadside on one side, abandoned land on another, and two other neighbors who don't use their land so often. But don't take my word for it. This 1625 prim, L$894 roadside parcel is a dream! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Chief/56/232/98
  6. A nice quaint and quiet parcel with both land and water on a protected waterway that easily sails to a sea while taking into sight others' builds along the way. If you like to leisurely sail and don't need a large space for your humble abode, this parcel may be for you! And if you want more privacy, you have full use of the sky. Don't take my word for it- Check it out for yourself! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bleaberry%20Tarn/24/175/23
  7. Alyona, that was a griefing object- it was setting off particles and sound - it filled the airspace with the particles for about 4 sims in that area. it is M rated land there. we found 6 or 7 of these yesterday.
  8. Here is a 2480 parcel in Vinula - spacious and beautiful. It is staged - which means you can just move in or you can send it back and do your own decor with it. It is a water parcel which means you can make your land however you want. Full control of the parcel and you have all the sky space as well. See it in world at: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Vinula/106/92/23. \ 851 Prims, $L 511/week - If you decide to keep what's there, you will have 531 prims left. Either way a GREAT price for a water parcel!

  15. 16. It sure is a Free Market; I don't disagree with that. I was simply trying to advise newer renters to not fall for that. That renting per prim is the way to go. And if companies don't like that people are smart to it- maybe they should change their tactic is all.
  17. OMG RL... Whatever does that mean? What's this stuff all around me? why don't I have an inventory? and I can't rez anything ..... and my dog seems so lifelike! I'm trying to return all the stuff that's making my house messy, but it doesn't work! Now what!?
  18. The new trend in advertising of parcel rental prices is pricing by the meter. I am one who stops to do the math before I make any kind of financial decision- and I thought I'd pass on my research. I came across some advertising of Company A that said "0.26 L$ a meter a week for normal land and water parcels 0.29 L$ a meter a week for protected roadside parcels 0.33 L$ a meter a week for protected waterside and waterway parcel." At first glance it's a price to make you go WOW when Company B sells a parcel for L3094 a week. Ooooo That MUST be a better deal, right? Let's look at the numbers. Take a random parcel I found: (roadside) 2368m for $L447 for 812 prims a week by Company B standards. BTW this pricing is per prim according to the company itself. Let's compare it to Company A's pricing policy per meter: using my calculator, I did .29 x 2368 = 686.72. WOW that is 239.72 L more expensive! That is nearly 54% higher! Just by pricing it by meter. Be aware, when you parcel off land, LL AUTOMATICALLY assigns prims to the parcel so there can be no prim difference without "playing with the prim sharing" in the region. Such as... Apartments- everyone getting 50 prims (when the space actually gives 150 prims); companies using the sky for skydomes thus lowering the amount of prims available per parcel, companies "borrowing prims" from other parcels in the same region, etc etc. These are all tactics that they use to attract renters. Oh we have more prims per parcel! we have a larger space! Oh and heaven forbid if you rent out a larger space, less prim parcel - say.... 16384 meters with only 1/2 the amount of prims LL assigns because they used them for other parcels... Company A's price would be (roadside) L$4752 for 2600 prims vs Company B's L$3074 for 5625 prims... Which company would you choose? Be smart when comparing companies. Many are just trying to rip off the consumer. Why am I telling you this secret? Because I used to be one who was ripped off, and I have found a company who is SMART about their pricing. Just food for thought.
  19. There are so many rental companies that allow terraforming, but even with that, some hills just can't be leveled. What I do- I place a flat prim at the top of the hill and put a grass texture to it and then put a cave or a sitting area with pillars under it so it looks intentional. There is no limit and no "rules" for decorating your little piece of SL heaven. if you do have limits, I'd recommend a new company to rent from. Just food for thought.
  20. I'd recommend Excalibur Rentals any day. They have M and A lands, Mainland and Island, and are truly a fraction of the price of (what I believe) any other company. We put our store there and found Excalibur to be very helpful at any given moment. Good luck in finding the perfect spot! https://excaliburrentalsinsl.com/
  21. I've been renting through Excalibur for 4 years now. When I first started renting land, I went through another company and was paying nearly 1.5x the rate of Excalibur. I took a chance at this lesser expensive company, and the customer service kept me there. I would wait DAYS for my other company to get back to me. Excalibur was very quick to respond to my land needs. They worked with me when I was struggling to make my rent. They helped me make platforms and learn how to customize my land. Unlike other companies I've experienced, they actually took the time to TEACH me about land instead of putting me on a parcel and saying good luck. It is that knowledge that makes them stand out from the rest. When I help my friends who rent from other places - they ask me to help them and always ask me where I learned all this. Ask any one of them how many friends have made the switch first for the customer service, and second for the price of the parcels. They have recently begun staging parcels - an interesting concept for the renter to choose what the parcel is decorated with or return it all for a "clean slate". I do hope other take the risk, even just to look at their offerings. I have personally saved a ton of L with them and have been able to sustain my parcel just from my part-tiime SL jobs.
