  1. ABDL is not a pride thing, it has nothing to do with sexuality, gender identity or the struggle faced by those from within. ABDL is a lifestyle for some people sure, but your desire to wear diapers, dress as a baby and have a mommy or daddy look after you isn’t something that relates to the concept of pride in my view. Thats like me saying “Oh I dress goth and live the goth lifestyle, goth flag needs to be at pride”. I may be goth, but that’s totally separate to my status as a trans queer person. And has nothing to do with the latter two.
  2. You might have to explain to me how this has any relation to a gender identity or sexuality. Personally I don't see it and I'm part of the LGBTQIA+ community. ABDL is a kink/lifestyle sure. And if you choose to engage in that, go nuts, I understand the very valid reasons people do it. Some people who identify as LGBTQIA+ may be ABDL, iv known a few myself in RL. But it's not a sexuality or a gender identity and definitely not part of the LGBTQIA+ identity/sexuality spectrum.
  3. You say this and yet, your first post was you pretty much stating that you are actually religious, and "believe" that the rainbow is a sign of gods covenant. Secondly, the "great flood" has its roots in beliefs way older than the belief in your god and there is no evidence what so ever that shows that this so called "great flood" ever actually happened on the scale most christians actually believe it did. It was more likely a small local flood, probably the wearing away of a natural sea wall or tsunami that flooded a large area, at some point in ancient history. Worship of the rainbow, also predates your god by thousands of years, with some of the earliest evidence being found in the Babylonia/Sumerian era. None of these things are in any way special or unique to christianity. Lastly, if you want to believe in your god and be a religious individual, that's entirely your choice. However, I would appreciate it if you didn't try to turn pride into some kind of veneration of christianity as a lot of the issues we are facing in the world at the minute is due to the christian right. That's not to say you can't celebrate your god and worship your god in your own way, have it it! I just don't feel that pride is a place where religion is really helpful. Especially given the utterly hateful content found in that particular book.
  4. So, to sum up.. ”Wahh wahh im a snob, wahhh wahhh I want my own personal super special world where I get special privileges because I pay premium monies wahhh wahh” Yeah, it’s a stupid idea.
  5. Preaching to the choir. A good number of us have either mentioned, brought this up at user group meetings or submitted Jiras to have this feature re implemented. So far, nothing.
  6. Tbh I completely forgot about that, my apologies, but in my defence I have suggested ideas multiple times to more than just you. Plus, the features I want to add extend beyond that single request. That particular idea is one of a few and one that sticks out strongly in my mind. I will definitely look into Lua in TCV though, thank you for the suggestion. I have been curious about viewer development for a while and figured that I might as well give it a go and learn. What's the worst case scenario? I decide it's not for me and I pick up a few extra skills along the way.
  7. Funnily enough I have the exact same thing. My RL last name is one of the previous used last names. I could care less
  8. Chat GPT is irrelevant. It was a tool used to prove a point of how simple it could be to find more adult, normal, last names. Nothing more, nothing less. I never said anything about nefarious, those are your words, not mine. And yes, there are pretty large selection of names out there that LL has not chosen. To think they covered everything is asinine. I don't believe I ever mentioned the current list, I was talking about the trend of only releasing gimmicky new names. Plus, some of the entries on that list have been there since near the beginning of the new last names. Again, it was proving a point of how easy it could be to find last names, that are normal, that haven't been used. See further up.
  9. I did check, so I missed one or two, and no many weren't used, you are exaggerating. I went through the list and checked against the list of past last names, all the ones I searched for hadn't been used. Also, just because YOU don't want standard last names, doesn't mean others feel the same way. You aren't the only avatar in the village. Im wholly supportive of fun, quirky and silly last names. I just want some normal ones for a change instead of gimmicky ones, a healthy balance of the two. Same as what other people in this thread have stated they want. As for your repeated, only argument, "equivalent of smith". Im pretty sure that there are already tons of names on the historical list that meet that definition. It's not anything new and hardly insensitive, there are cultures on SL beyond whatever your culture is. I really do think you need to be less of a sour puss.
  10. So, I have some experience in coding LSL, Swift and a little PHP. I want to start looking into developing my own viewer, not for public use per say, I just want some features added that no one else seems interested in doing, but I think would be pretty neat. I have tried suggesting to LL or TPV developers and no one seems interested in improving the scripting window, so I want to do it myself. However, I am not entirely sure, beyond learning C++, what else I would need to start modifying my own viewer. Can one of the viewer developers give me a break down of things I should learn and things that, might not be necessary, but would be very helpful if I was to cover it?
  11. There are still plenty available for use as a last name in SL. The ones I listed in a prior post that I asked Chat GPT for were all unused. Its not as difficult as you might think to come up with some new, more adult surnames.
  12. Sadly they won't, they are only interested in gimmick names these days. Pretty sure its fathers day soon so heavy money on the gimmick father names being next 😒.
  13. The brain boffin in the name department could even ask chat GPT....these are pretty cool and never before used... I asked it to generate some normal, community based and fun names that did not appear on this list: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Current_Last_Names This is a selection what it came up with.... Sensible last names: Thornhill Waverly Carmichael Barrington Hargreaves MacKenzie Windslow Ashford Huntington Gupta Last names that cater to specific communities: Wuong (Chinese community) Qiu (Chinese community) Pattel (Indian community) Kimura (Japanese community) OMalley (Irish community) Luong (Vietnamese community) Otaku (anime community) Fluffernutter (furry community) Ravenwood (gothic community) Mystique (mystical community) Hocus (magical community) Fun last names: Dinglehopper Snickerdoodle Bloop Fluffernutter Pudding Wigglesworth Snugglebutt Bippitybop Skedaddle Ticklepickle Hootenanny
  14. This is an alt I created for the forums, it was to test something, this isn't my in world name. Also, why are you being such a sourpuss, did I insult your friend when I hinted at the person who chooses these names?
  15. And those haven't really changed, it's not about whether or not someone wants to tell others to "stop having fun". By all means, if you want a silly name, have at it. There are just those of us who don't particularly want the last name "OhMyBigglesCake" or w/e nonsense they release next. The key is building a balanced set of names, some fun, some normal and then rotating sets of those in and out on a regular basis. That isn't happening, what's actually happening is that gimmick names are being released over and over and over and catering ONLY to those that wish to have gimmick names on their avatars. There are some names on the list that have been there since the list was created that could be replaced with other names catering to other residents.
  16. The lab doesn't listen, people like myself have been saying for the longest time now....give us some normal names. Or at least ones that aren't mega gimmicky. At this point, I can only assume that they don't really care about it and want to put out the stupidest names imaginable as they know someone, somewhere, will buy them. It's sad really, what was once a free feature that had a huge assortment of names, is now a paid for gimmick. I want some simple last names, good for the standard every day avatar. Or, stop being plebs and just open the archive of previous names. Who really is going to care? I wouldn't, id be happy to see people with my other accounts last name. Would be a better idea than struggling along with the lists of stupid they keep releasing. I have a feeling I know who picks these names and I wish that person would read these threads and remember what it was like to be a non linden SL resident. And remember what its like when the community is trying to tell the lab something and they just flat out do not listen, and only care about what they think is right, not what the community wants. Iv noticed this kind of thing and other weirdness quite a bit in the various development circles I'm part of that this person engages with. For instance, iv seen some people make absolutely awesome experiences, show them to this person and seldom get a mention anywhere. Others who are in the inner favourites circle, can make a half assed experience with a couple trees and regularly make the front page, simply because favouritism.
  17. We actually used to be able to do this, they had a linden resell program (I think that's what it was called, some SL boffin will correct me). You were able to buy lindens from multiple places, then they stopped it.
  18. MadPea is a copy pasta company though. It's seldom they come out with anything truly new, it's just a rinse wash repeat of the same process over and over. The only thing that changes is the story and some of the puzzles, they aren't exactly groundbreaking or leading the way in terms of game development. MadPea games and stories generally go like this: Uh oh...someone died....who is the killer....theres the killer and sometimes like this: This is a room, its a secure room, now you have to escape! or if you are lucky at halloween... OH THERES A GHOST!...uh oh...someone died....who is the killer....theres the killer
  19. I want more keys to use in llTakeControls and it baffles me why they just won't do it. Yes, we have gestures, but having actual keys we can control would be very helpful. For instance 1234567890, Shift, Control would be a great set of keys to be able to use. You would have many more sets of things you could do with that in terms of a game, such as whether the key is pressed, released or held. Gestures are good but, you can't detect key press and release with them.
  20. That is amazing, thank you so much.
  21. So, Havent touched rotations properly in a while, especially since I only recently returned to SL and I need reminding When rotating a linked object I get the local rot and then multiple my angle of turn by the local rot value? Secondly, what's the best way to rotate over a period of time. Lets say I want a linked child prim door to rotate open, 90 degrees, over two seconds
  22. Nvm, I found a way around it. When attached, get the prims group key, which inherits the avatars group, and compare that to the saved group key. Woo!
  23. Is there a way to use a group key to ensure that only avatars in a certain group can use an attached object? I know I can't use llSameGroup or llDetectedGroup as the object attached inherits the group of the current owner. I was hoping I could do some comparison with the group key vs the key of the group the avatar has active but llGetObjectDetails also doesn't work for this. Has anyone ever found a solution?
