  1. Turns out it was attempting to run FS through a wireless connection. With an ethernet connection everything's fine.
  2. I have the older 6.6.17 release working fine on an older Win 10 PC. I'm setting up a new Win 11 PC, and whether I install 6.6.17 or the new PBR-friendly release that just went out, I cannot log in. Attempting to log in will give me an error that DNS cannot be resolved to agni.secondlife.com, etc.. The Big splash screen in FS itself times out with a "cannot connect" error and a -205 error code. Weirdest of all, every time FS gets into this state, my internet connection drops out entirely (in Win 11 - the "not connected to internet" icon). Note that I can log into secondlife.com, etc. just fine. It's only FS itself that seems borked. I have tried "allowing" all the firestorm executables, dullahan_host, etc. through my Win 11 firewall and through Malwarebytes, exactly as I've done long ago on my Win 10 PC that's working fine with FS. I have tried changing my Win11 DNS servers to the Google ones for IPv4 and IPv6. Absolutely nothing at all seems to work. Any ideas? Any tips?
  3. This. If I put up any type of somewhat obvious adult furniture inside one of my Linden homes (such as a simple St. Andrews Cross, or a Backbone toy cabinet), etc. I'm going to trigger somebody in Belli M regions right now, today. It doesn't matter if I turn off parcel visibility. That hides the AVs doing things on such furniture, but it doesn't hide the furniture itself. And yes, why not have a pool with adult anims, and actually make use of them from time to time? (Visibility off, of course.) But as things stand today, if you don't want some random neighbor deciding you need to be reported because "too adult", you have to leave your house empty and desolate, and toss everything in a skybox up above. Where's the community-building in that?
  4. Great video! The music too 😁! (p.s. I wrote the music, specifically about and for Bellisseria!)
  5. One of these days I'm *still* going to make you dance! May your hiatus be brief. Take care, friend. 💗
  6. Let me put it this way: it's a simple thing for LL developers to fix the "rules" of the system so that the system is a bit more fair and equal for everyone involved. It's another thing entirely to fix the RL economic system that enables some RL people to siphon money upward. That said, if somebody could actually tackle the complex economic and political systems that allow for massive wealth inequality, then MORE people would be able to have a nice Tesla and maybe even a vacation home or two. Maybe even you! (And gee, maybe more people could actually eat and live under a roof and have some okay medical care). Point being, I see your point but in this case I think it's a false equivalence. The problems with the Linden Land system today are small, contained, and easily fixable.
  7. Translation: "time and money" = "army of alts". So if you have the money to own a large number of alts and the computing horsepower to have all those alts spam the land claim interface the moment a region is released, you have far better odds to squat the hot properties in the newly-released regions. And then you can trade those hot properties away afterward to "friends", using the technique described above, with a high degree of confidence. This effectively creates a class system among Linden lands, especially Bellisseria. You can argue that it's all "by the rules" and that "everyone has equal opportunity to do the same", but DO they? Do they really? (Spoiler: no, no they don't, really. Because very few people have the money to run dozens and dozens of alts and the time to run this kind of detailed, coordinated op, ready to act the moment a particularly desirable region releases.) Everyone who knows about this game being played by the privileged few who can afford to are demotivated by it. I've seen it griped about constantly among my friends graph, and I myself am demotivated. LL would be well-served to refactor their release/claim system to be truly truly randomized so that it cannot be gamed with hyper-predictable abandon-trading, and cannot be gamed with zerg tactics for new region releases. This would give the average person a more equal chance at the GOH slot machine rewards. Ask yourself this question: If there were no ability to predictably abandon-trade a nice parcel to a "friend", and no way to dramatically increase your odds of scoring many/most parcels in a highly-desirable new region by using zerg tactics, would we see the problems we've all been seeing clearly for the past half a year or more? Would the average account holder have a more equal chance at stumbling upon some of the nicer parcels?
  8. Honestly, I still don't understand the process they're using to game the system. How exactly do they target a new specific region with some tasty parcels on it? (Which they do, quite successfully). I've given up on GOH because it's rigged in favor of the people who've figured out how to game the system. GOH is only "fun" when you feel you have an equal chance as everyone else of landing something really tasty. As it stands now, you only stand a chance of that if you get a lucky abandon in a very old region. You'll never get lucky in a brand new region that just released, because of the people who know how to game the system.
  9. I'm also quite happy with the Belli grass as-is 😍
  10. Squirrel move like a ninja! She does not fear the EVIL.
  11. *shakes her tail in vain* ..... one of these days I will shock the natural order and achieve SLENDYDANCE
  12. The Bandit 170 is a lot of fun! I also love the Captain's Launch, and the Loonetta, and that new jetski by Cigar Yachts that came out right around the time the Stilt regions were released. Don't forget the new Bellisseria surf beach up on the Northeast edge of the bottom row of the stilt region. The wave generators are perfect, the wave runs are long, and there are rezzers for all the best surfboards. It's a delight to surf those waves on the X-3! Two people can ride the X-3 and the passenger gets involved in the paddling anims. It's really responsive and newbie-friendly! If you have your own surfboards, there's a public rez zone up at the west edge of the beach in the same region. Oh, it's also pretty fun to jump those same waves in the Cigar Yachts jetski too!
  13. FWIW, I just tried out the new surf beach (scroll up a bit), and it's FANTASTIC. Several wave generators with LONG runs, nice frequency, extremely low lag. The waves themselves are excellent. And they've got board rezzers for all the best boards, including my favorite, the X-3. And if you have your own boards, there's a rez zone just a short walk up the beach to the west at the top left of the same region. FWIW, the X-3 can seat two people and the passenger is involved in the paddling animations in a cute way. It's a very newbie-friendly board and has some nice tricks and excellent (but not janky) maneuverability. If you've never surfed in SL, I recommend trying that board rezzer first!
  14. OMG I'm so happy! And does it have a small self-rez square for people with their own boards?
  15. A lot of us do walk/drive/horseride/sail in and around our property and neighborhood in various states of casual nudity. But you hardly bump directly into anyone that way so...
  16. It's really pretty simple: understand the Adult FAQ. And maybe get to know the tone and flavor of various community events that crop up and use common sense about what seems appropriate in one community situation or another. Casual nudity out and around your house? Sure, nobody's going to bat an eye at that. Walking cold into a community dance fully naked? Would you do that in any town or any community even in very progressive, permissive cultures? Probably not. Get to know the local community culture and you can find your way.
  17. Also.... (it was really frustrating to finally figure this out).... it SEEMS like you must set your day offset for the parcel in a very specific way for a Day Cycle EEP to actually cycle and morph through the different keyframes in the cycle. Under About Land > Environment, make sure that down the Day Settings section you have the Day Offset at exactly 0.0. It seems like any non-zero value in the Day Offset will "freeze" the Day cycle at that percentage value among the keyframe interpolation.
  18. I'm likewise very stumped about Day Cycles (in Firestorm). When I load a Day Cycle into my parcel, it never seems to actually progress and change through all the sky settings that are in the Day Cycle. Everything stays static and frozen at one Sky setting. Even when I manually drag a Day Cycle object from an EEP pack onto the "Ground" setting under "Sky Altitudes", the little graphic chicklet there doesn't change to show the sun/moon graphic indicating a Day Cycle at Ground Level. I've tried loading the Day Cycle into my parcel by right-clicking the Day Cycle object itself and choosing "Apply to Parcel". I've tried loading the day cycle from the About Land > Environment tab and choosing "Use Inventory" to load that Day Cycle object. And yes, I've used World > Environment > Use Shared Environment to make sure I don't have any Lighting overrides or manual windlights/EEP scenes loaded. It really doesn't help that the FS UI for Edit Day Cycle truncates the name of the Day Cycle and individual EEP objects to only like 32 characters or less. If you buy an EEP pack from some vendor (like The Rebakery), you can never easily confirm the loaded EEP setting in any individual keyframe. Nothing seems to consistently and obviously work to make the Day Cycle on my parcel actually cycle and move the sun/moon around. I somehow managed ONE TIME to get it to work in both my viewer and my partner's viewer, but somehow broke everything after that and now the sky's just static all the time again. I'm beginning to wonder if FS is just bugged all to hell regarding EEP and I'm beating my head against the wall for nothing. It's VERY frustrating. Any ideas or tips? EDIT: Unless... In the About Land dialog, if I set my "Day Offset" value to 0.0, I do see shadows finally begin to move as if a Day cycle were actually occurring? Is it really as simple as "If Day Offset is non-zero, then the Day Cycle is frozen at that offset, so you'll only get a real Day Cycle if you ensure that the Day Offset for the parcel is exactly 0.0"? If this is how it works, then the FS crew should make that REALLY clear in the tool tips and in the wiki/docs for FS. Because there are a TON of regions throughout the grid that will set the Day Offset to a specific non-zero value and leave it stuck there even if you subsequently load an EEP Day Cycle.
  19. You gotta change your evul ways, Slendy Before I stop lovin' you You've got to change, Slendy And every word that I say is true You've got me runnin' and hidin' all over town You've got me sneakin' and a peepin' and runnin' you down This can't go on....... 20. Forget the Water Horse and the Teegle Horse... here comes the Slendy Horse!
  21. That new Cigar jetski is pretty lush and handles well, with lots of cute poses on it for both the rider and the passenger. It's a bit pricey but IMO worth it!
  22. Thanks to Patch and all the moles for bringing us summer in the middle of a rough winter!
