  1. I was checking bodies and heads, and reading reviews of brands like Genus and the new TMP. They are beautiful for sure, but some users are complaining about complexity (aka abnormal complexity). Searching further, I ended up here https://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2018/12/maitreya-belleza-and-slink-sl-skin-bad-optimization.html Long post made short, the author says the leading body makers did a **** job, so Belleza, Maitreya and Slink are products of bad design practices . A crowded sim with poorly optimized bodies (mounted by hair, clothes and jewelry equally bad optimized) and voilà: lag even with good machines. "I find more and more reasons every time to absolutely hate them. Those three are the worst ones anyway -- Belleza being at the top, followed by Maitreya and then SLINK", says NiranV, developer of Black Dragon viewer. "Maitreya starts with 80,000-100,000 — only the base body. Belleza was something like 200,000+ last time I checked. Modern games use roughly 20-40k for an entire character. A few games use more, obviously, but 20-40k is standard today. So with 100-200k you can imagine how much more straining avatars are. And they are just bodies — [not counting] clothes, no hair, nothing." But is this really "bad design" or a one way road? Can better bodies, MUCH better than Lara or Jake (enough to justify a new expense) be made reducing complexity? And obviously, the idea of the author - "boycott" - seems ludicrous.
  2. I admit I didn't read all pages, but... Are people judging others because of wishlists? What's wrong with the world? 😅 I have one ranging from a few bucks to 5K, but I use it more as "bookmark". I don't shove it in strangers' faces - its there, quiet in a corner of my Pics. And honestly I don't believe anyone will buy stuff for me, but who knows?, if he/she wants, they don't need to ask me (or send things I will never use). I can't see HOW this is in any possible way "begging". [Besides... Can a good soul send me gifts, plox? I'm a poor citizen from the third world with 3 little childs, God bless you 🤣 ...or I report you]
  3. Never used. Like Arielle said, I feel it breaks the immersion. When online I want to be Angel, not the real me, my real voice would ruin it. And my English is horrible anyway...
  4. [Sorry for the intrusion, I'm not Catwa user.] I tried many Catwa demos deciding if I should invest hard earned money on it. Looking from outside, they look "different", more natural than others like LAQ with those fat duck lips 🙄. The only comparable (or superior) in my view is Genus. The variety is amazing, and it's a shame when I want a skin and it was made only for Catwa; with luck, maybe for LAQ and Lelutka. Even not having a Catwa head, I recommended and guided some friends to buy one. And despite thinking 5K heads - 5.5K if Genus 😐 - are kind of expensive ("creator set the price none of your business", I know), I was itching to buy one. Until Akeruka put ALL STORE in promo, 500L. Got Rachel, that I was eyeing for a time. I still think Catwa looks more "real-world" and maybe I eventually buy one, but the urge to spend is gone. I would love to see them doing promo prices. But since it's the more popular brand, they don't care about it. (Oh God, a 500L promo, and I would buy half the store... :D)
  5. Just to add my bit: Unless she or anyone else in the same situation has the Lindens to buy Maitreya (if yes, go ahead, don't think twice), I'd strongly recommend keeping an eye on the Altamura store. Free bodies are a good start - I learned a lot from free Jenny until I finally move to Lara. And they do some crazy promos like 60 to 90% off sometimes - that's how I bought Giselle and Eva (still wearing Giselle's head, so gorgeous that I feel a little sad to think in pay L$5000 on a Catwa or LAQ head) . If the preference is for a more curvy avi, then 1L version of EBody is nice to start, too. For sure at some point the user will seek for more, like tattoos and skins, that will be the time to invest some money.
  6. I'm in shock that I missed it... And worst part is that I'm in AK group already
  7. No problem. It was a kind of vague phrase, I admit. I'm not a native English speaker.
  8. NUNCA consegui vincular minha conta PayPal, mesmo tendo saldo em dólares. Perguntei pro suporte do PayPal e disseram que era com a LindenLabs, perguntei pra LindenLabs e disseram que é com o PayPal Desisti.
  9. Not sure where you live, but I'm Brazilian and I was NEVER able to add my payment info from PayPal to Second Life (I know a Brazilian guy who had the same problem, so I know it's not just me), so I have only money earned inworld to do my things...
  10. I feel doubly sad with a topic like this because the author is obviously desperate for an "e-girlfriend" (what is sad and kind of ridiculous, to be honest), and it paves way for people to mock him and show how cool they are within their own group. Not cool. I'm not the best advisor on the subject; from day 1 in SL, I never wanted to be in a "serious" relationship. What I can say is: Don't lie about yourself. The most important to me. Wannabes are not interesting and sooner or later your mask will fall. Don't create a so different persona, or forget about a "real" relationship: you'll live a lie, and worst, be lying to someone. What do you like? Debauchery, religion, music? Write about it in your profile, save some Picks. This way, you will attract people like you, with similar tastes. Take care of your avi - and I'm not saying you necessarily need to spend 20k to buy a ton of jewelery and clothes; I've met people who don't care about it, focused on the personality. But others are triggered only if they have a good visual stimulation. So it depends on what kind of people you are and you want to attract. Take care of your profile - I'm a huge profile stalker. There is nothing worst than a profile with no avatar image, no description, no Picks, no everything. It's too vague, uninsteresting, boring. If you meet a person LIKE YOU, you are going to be mutually interested. Things happen naturally.
  11. I mean you don't need to justify. You can block, you block. Period.
  12. I have a male alt that I've been using not so often. With him I'm not treated as piece of meat in random places. What I noticed wandering as a man: they are less prone to chat with other men; I dare to say 'less sociable'. Sometimes you talk and nobody cares about you, or gives you a laconic answer. It rarely occurs when I'm with my female avi talking to other girls. Funny part: even not being a super cute (he wears Altamura Manuel body and head https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Altamura-MANUEL-Bento-Fullbody/14637656), sometimes 'girls' come to me asking for dates that I politely refuse. Maybe the guys in ladies' shoes
  13. Nope. If someone requires voice verification, it's his or her problem, not mine. I don't care the slightest if the person I'm interacting is a woman or man in RL, why should I?
  14. I'm often into ahn.... adult sims, and a lot of guys read my profile and pretend to be the kind of person I like to interact - just to later become a pain in the *** revealing their real personalities. These are the ones I usually block. So bad they still can see me, we could just be 100% invisible to blocked people, like any social media. Block and goodbye forever. But I agree with the general opinion: there's no reason to justify a block.
  15. I'm not sure if the image helps, but her shoulder look "down" and out of place; it's exactly the problem we see here https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Shoulder-Bring-Down-DEMO/16442853. To be honest, it's way stranger sometimes (arms up is "ugh... wth?"). Shoulders are around 50 here - above it, she becomes too unnatural, and below, the deformation is worse. Thanks for the suggestion of shoulder deformers, I did not even know it exists. Sounds like a solution, I'll try. Ankle locks saved me using another body (Altamura) and since Lara have the function in HUD, I'm still using it.
  16. I'm using Lara for some time now, with a shape I did myself. I don't want to look like a giant, so my atual height is 194 cm. It makes me smaller than most avs around me, but what is really bothering me are her shoulders. When she is arms up, they get really awkward and unnatural. I tried to adjust my shape, but it stills weird. And checking other avs using Lara, their shoulders look fine I'm even thinking about buy Belleza Isis. Is this a known issue of Lara? Maybe can you suggest some adjustment or a custom shape? I like to be "curvy" but slender (small waist, large hips, long legs) but not surreal.
  17. Funny post =D Inconclusive, vague, but funny. HOW, can you share? I took more than a month dancing in a club and I didn't get 2k, and it was boring to death... Not even escorting I did it yet (despite a girl reportedly made more than 4 million L escorting along last years).
  18. I can't talk for "people" but for me: I think it's sexy and even when not scripted, brings a new ingredient of fantasy for those who enjoy restriction, submission, etc. The functions (open collar, in case) add a lot specially in foreplay, with custom poses, leash, etc. And when having sex too: it's really cool to see yourself or your partner on a leash. It doesn't change de act per se, but the fantasy. Works as a symbol, a way to say you are into that kind of thing to possible partners before they approach you ou vice-versa. I use my collar all time, and dependending on the sim, there is a thrill in letting it open to public. Just be warned to put yourself as owner and everything will be fine. Have fun!
  19. Never heard of it... Instead of let yourself be guided by other people's opinion, that are so diverse, maybe it's better to: 1. Check person's profile and Picks. It talks a lot and can give you a good idea, I bet you do it already. 2. In some cases, ask for their notecard with detailed informations. For paraRP and anyone who likes tons of text, It's a must. 3. Most important: chat. It shows a lot about how that person emotes/interacts, if she is too quiet or talkative, etc.
  20. Mmm... It depends of our definition of what is a 'troll'? Is there a virtue in having fun at the expense of others, even if they don't agree? I can let a bold NO. But example: in a red light sim I use to go, there was a dog days ago demanding to be called "Master" and sporting a large... thing. He even pissed at the foot of one of us. Some thought it was hilarious, others asked to ban him immediately... Can we consider him as a classic troll?
  21. Exactly what I thought. Thank you for letting me know
  22. I worked as dancer for a short time, and I'm currently escorting. My views: Q: If they sit in a chair, are they expected to tip? A: Expected? Yes. Honestly I think it's rude to enjoy the show (sometimes interacting - spanking, dirty talking) and then leave, like it would be in RL. But I guess it depends on the houses' rules, most of times it's not mandatory to tip, but recommended. In most places, we are advised to NEVER ask for tips, not even suggest it, so it's not like we are there doing a free show for pure personal joy... We simply can't ask. Q: How often should they tip? What factors might affect it? A: Mmm, don't guess there is a rule for that. Some guys seem to feel good tipping once in a night, small values, specially when they are leaving. Others, to show their generosity/weath dropping a big tip in the jar, and maybe other days later... Q: Is there a guideline for how much the tips should be? A: I don't think so. But in my personal case, tips were usually from 10 to 100L, and very rare, big tipping like 500L (in special when we had a good chat and/or they were paving way for more 'services' in future). Q: What are some tipping pet peeves that really upset you? A: Those who tips and start asking for RL information, sending RL pics. I wanna die when it happens. Or those who think they can decide how you should look for him "hey, I'm tipping you, you should have bigger breasts next time, okay hun?". Apart from that, nothing upsets me in a tip (only when they don't give it =D)
  23. I've seen some AFK "machines" (you sit there and well...don't know if I can explain what exactly, but you can guess) that charges users L$20 for X minutes. If I'm not wrong, it's charged in the end of the service, when the person stands up after such time, so I suppose some can simply use it and go away seconds before being charged... But seems to me like a super idea that maybe could be best explored by developers. I would work on it myself if I had knowledge for it. EDIT: oops, I deviated from the matter. I never found an AFK place that could be really rentable for me, even using all body parts (Lara, good skin, mesh head, Mama Allpa, body parts, sex systems, etc). I tried dancing in place for tips, but it was boring as hell to, with amazing luck, get 500L (and AFK were forbidden). Only working IC, interacting with partners. In a very good night, two or three, 1K each. Other times, 5 days waiting for nothing.
  24. This post is old and as a record, problem solved: the guy hasn't appeared anymore. Yes, I reported him, no idea if it worked or not. I still using that sandbox. I just want to politely, no drama, say I got surprised to see how many people accused me (and by extension, any similar view of the problem) of being 'dramatic' and looking for 'revenge'. Of course I'm not so experienced as most of you in SL. I thought that, as a community, people should work to not only avoid, but get rid of those who tries to ruin others' experience for personal fun. That's why I was asking if I should report him or not: maybe reporting griefers could lead to a ban or something. It's not 'revenge', it's not for personal satisfaction -- more like "let's prevent such kinds to do it again and again and again". Ok? Thank you for the tips, some lessons learned here (hope I don't sound 'dramatic' again posting it... ).
  25. I don't understand why the ironic view ("justice!") about such issue. Besides, in my post, I asked how to solve it, and the first comment where kind enough to teach me (move lock) with no drama, irony or anything. Are you offended? Some people, like you, think it's ok to just go away of somewhere because of a single m*ron harassing users. Others disagree and think it's perfectly ok to report them.
