    I agree with you there. There is some pretty ugly stuff out there. Obviously the creator didn't vet their audience very well if this happens. I'm not paying any amount of money for two strings and a square of material, ever.

    No Luna, you aren't getting it. They don't have to be paid beans. You can simply not do it if you don't believe the compensation is enough for your effort.

    Well then, you'd better go out and "sell" that tree. You'll need to sell about 2000 of them. Did I mention you are still earning on the original time it took you to make one tree. Imagine if a woodworker made a beautiful table and it just multiplied by magic without having to lift a finger besides making the initial table. I bet they'd be happy.

    This may be a stupid question but could you use a deformer on a Maitreya 5.3 to make it look like Lara X?

    The problem with the calculations is that we don't actually know how much a creator makes on an item because we don't know what the items total sales are. If you make a dress and price it at $L300 and it takes you 2 hours to do everything from start to finish and you sell two then yes your hourly rate is low. However, if you spend two hours making an item and sell 1000 of them then your hourly rate just went sky high without putting anymore work into it. In fact people keep the same prices on items that are brand new and items from 10 years ago most of the time. On the other hand I'll see things in the MP that say "now only $L199 for the next 24 hours" 3 years later it's the same price. So they really don't care a whole lot what they get for some things because obviously it was too much work to change it and they must be happy with what they are getting or don't care. Edit for additional thought: I might offend a few DJ's with this comment but probably 80% of the DJ's in SL don't even deserve the $L100 tip because they put NO effort into it. Anyone can press a button and play a song and say up next is Michael Jackson's Thriller. A good DJ engages the audience and make the experience fun. Those are the ones I tip.

    There is soon to be a new release of all mesh body hands. It has the ability to be ambidextrous. Even though it's just the hand that is changing, all residents will be require to purchase all new clothes as the old ones will not work on the body, even with alphas.     There is zero value to L$ once in SL. Now if you can mail me all my virtual goods or guarantee that the grid will never, ever close then I might be willing to spend what you are suggesting. Right now I could wake up tomorrow and the grid could have disappeared. Not likely but it has happened to other grids and they lost everything. If creators feel that they are not getting paid what they should then they need to either raise their prices and see who buys their products or not do it at all. No one is forcing anyone to rely on SL for their income source. If they are smart enough to be able to learn multiple programs for creating content, they are smart enough to find a different income source if they don't feel that they are getting paid enough for the work they put in. I've read enough of your posts to know that you put a post out there with an argument and then just continue to post one liners to dismiss anyone's opinion but your own. This will be the only post I contribute to this thread because surely it will become non productive.

    I have been looking at the Warm animations collections for awhile but I am not too sure how they actually work. I know they use an experience to see the effects but if the parcel doesn't have the experience will it work outside of your parcel? I don't know much about deformers but it's pricey so I wanted to do some research before I invest in it. Can someone explain to me in simple terms exactly what an animation deformer does?

    I do that all the time. Usually I'll scan them, find out the name of the store and end up buying something (or lot's of somethings) else. There was this one female avatar that I really liked her choice in clothes when I first started in SL. I didn't have a lot of clothes at the time so I bought a lot of stuff she wore. I got accused of stalking her and purposely dressing like her. LOL.

    I got the new update and am very pleased with the way they fixed the dimples. Question: Do I need to use a skin specifically made for Lara X or can I use the one that I have for 5.3. I'm using the Picasso Babe Skin for Maitreya 5.3 (SLIM/CHANTILLY) S Also the shape is different when I switch. I assume I'll need to tweak the shape on Lara X to get it to look the way I want it to?

    Depends on the laptop. Just because your laptop meets the requirements to run SL it may not meet the requirements to run SL well. It would be helpful to know what the specs are on the laptop.
