I keep forgetting subtle never works around here. *gets the frying pan* Disclaimer: Things may be different now.

Clover Jinx the SL avatar rezzed in world 12/21/2008

Clover Jinx signed up for the forums on September 11, 2009

We all agree the logins are separate, so separate databases, which would require additional manpower and time to go through and "clean out" the forum accounts that were also in-world accounts that were cancelled. Unless there is a forum infraction serious enough to warrant it, I can't see LL removing forum accounts until a scheduled "clean up" if at all.

If you don't want to post on the forums, take Maddy's advise in another thread and change your password to gibberish, log out and walk away. It's not a glitch or bug or anything.

you have ONE password that you use to log into all the services LL offers.

There are not separate inworld and forum accounts. You might log into the forum days weeks months or years after you joined second life but its all the same account.

Im pretty sure if I logged out of the forums I wouldn't be able to log back in, because I cancelled my account.

I'm also reading the forums on my main, because i logged out this account on my computer but not on my phone.

I'm pretty sure some concerned forum citizen will bring this to a mods attention and they will rectify this unfortunate glitch.

Oh look I just saw a notice pop up on my computer... Phorumities has replied... excuse me while I go read what I wrote.

    😁

    Same password ..

totally same account so that a violation in one gets you punished in the other and yet, a week after I terminated my account, and am dead inworld so to speak, I'm still alive and well in the forums.

So...how about a heads up?  Who's your new SL ego?

no new ego, this was my forum posting account. I'm done with the forums so there is no further need for this account. I was only posting because I was amused that a week after I cancelled this account I'm still logged into the forums.

You know they're separate logins right?

yes i know that but if i cancelled my account how can i still be logged in? are you suggesting that if i never log out i can continue posting on the forums without having a second life account?

    test

ok this is an amusing glitch of some sort. I deleted this account over a week ago. Trying to log in to second life gives me the message "account not found" yet im still logged into the forums and can still post. I dont plan on resuming posting I just thought this was something intersting to share. Im sure a Linden will fix it when brought to their attention. 😁

I don't understand why someone being able to guess at your minimum age based on account creation date would be an issue.  The only thing I can think of is something like your account age indicated you might be at least 28, but you were trying to convince someone that you were really only 20 in RL - but I wouldn't consider that a valid reason for hiding the account creation date, nor does it hinder how your avatar behaves.  You can always act as if your avatar is 2 or 10 or 18 or 20, etc., regardless of account creation date.

I'm with LittleMe in that the hints one gets about someone else's age are not based on their account creation date, but more about how they talk/write and the subjects that they talk about, particularly if they mention things or events that are tied to a particular time period.

Its because the OP doesn't want everyone to know he's a noob

Since the adoption of mesh (well the new SL mesh, since everything has always been mesh) there's been a substantial move toward more realistic sizing of avatars, buildings and furniture. I for one am very happy that people are changing. I haven't used the default camera position for years and years. I fixed that problem even before mesh was an issue. I never liked feeling as though no matter how high a ceiling was I always felt like I was going to hit my head. Fortunately, I read an article explaining the issue and how to fix it with the debug settings. That one improvement made my SL so much more enjoyable.

I really have to chuckle when I see super tall avatars these days. It's typically someone who just can't drag themselves into the present but tend to live in their memories of the "good old days".  Now if I offended you with that remark, I'm sorry, but maybe it's time to reconsider why you really want to be a giant. :)

I'm personally about 6 ft tall in my bare feet (flat foot form, I totally cant stand barefoot girls with permanent Barbie feet) but since most guys are still 7 ft or taller I feel I'm a realistic height, almost petit. Theres one guy me and my partner hang out, he's the same height as me but I can't help thinking hes way too short.

As much as a loathe the comparison to "normal" games .... There are quite a great many - often popular - ones where your "tutorial" amounts to being tossed in head first and told not to die.

That doesn't even touch a few of the still going MMOs out there ....

Heaven forbid some of those that found Second Life "too hard to learn" attempt to play an old school MUD/MUCK or similar ...

maybe we could give every noob a gun and teleport them to a life enabled sim.

There are a few times which are populated with bots, this kinda sucks.. :(

A certain percentage of clubs have bots parked way up in the air. Looks good on the map and in the (Firestorm) viewer search, but when you get there you realize it's just another dead club.

Plus if you rent land on the same sim, they are limiting the number of active people that can come onto your property.

I once ditched a parcel on Zindra because someone that owned a 512 regularly maxxed out sim access with his visitors

Okay. As I only have a small amount of knowledge on this subject and I realise i'm probably opening a massive can of worms by asking this BUT....what is it that attracts you to that point in history so much. Not judging you or anything just being British its not often you get chance to ask a question like that over something you dont know a great deal about. I know bits and pieces from various things I have read over the years but has never really been a primary point of research.

To be honest I've had more than one debate in here over my honoring the efforts of my ancestors to remove their states from the Union, form their own independent nation, and preserve their independence.

    It never ends well.

I'm sure others in here will be more than happy to give you their take on it.

Im legit curious as to the type of place you have Phorumities. Idk why but im imagining lots of flags

Its mainly a s e x club, but the main hall is decorated with flags and pictures of the CSA.

Then you can go out and walk across the street to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial.

Plus, politics are not relevant to each and every discussion.

Most times they are though. But, if i post politics in here, I get accused of trolling... ie posting an opinion contrary to the group consensus simple to create drama and discourse. So, no more poking sticks in the hive mind from me :)

I decided to follow my most recent blind TP, just to see what happened.

There were two "hoodrat"-cliche avatars sitting on a sofa each, another girl that TPed away before she'd fully rezzed, and a latex-clad mistress with her chained submissive in tow. The mistress immediately started trying to discuss limits for the use of her sub, while the two guys rambled in broken English about sitting down, getting naked, and something about my bottom.

    That was weird.

Damn, you get all the good TP offers all mine are noobs wanting the s e x

    :)
