I recently bought some mainland plots to rent out, in my opinion they are lovely plots, perfect locations, amazing views, and I thought someone would surely want to rent them. I have even offered the plots with or without a nice house and with full land controls for the tenant. I charge 1L$/prim. So for my 700 prim lot I charge 700L$ a week. I use Casperlet, and I have placed ads in loads of places in world, and on the forums here, and places ads in the classifieds. I have had hardly any interest and not yet managed to rent out any of my plots, as it stands I have spent quite a bit on buying the plots, the casperlet system, houses, ads, plus the monthly land tier and I haven't actually made any profit at all. I would say that although it seems like a great and easy way to make money it isn't. I am literally making a loss, I am paying land tier each month for plots which no ones renting and which are just sat there not being used. Itis really time consuming too, getting the plots ready to be rented out, creating your ads, writing up the notecards, I have travelled all over the place in world to find good places for ads, I have invested hours upon hours and am yet to make a penny, I am not doing it to get right I just want to cover the land tiers really now. I am sure you CAN make money and be successful but you'd need to make sure your occupancy is always high enough to cover your land tier, and there's so much choice out their for tenants it is really hard to attract people to rent your plots, plus the bigger companies/groups seem to be top of ads etc in classifieds so it is hard even to get your ads seen.

Hi all! Happy holidays I am looking for some advice, I recently came back on to SL, I haven't been on since like 2009 and everything is quite different. I have a couple of plots of land on the mainland to rent out, I think they are great plots but I am struggling with advertising. I don't think they really show up very high in the search and I have placed classified ads but I think the bigger landlords pay huge amounts for their classified ads so that they show up first. I have been trying to find ad boards in locations where there is high traffic but also where sims go that have the money to spend on rent. I am struggling to find anywhere suitable to advertise. Is anyone able to give me some advice and tips for advertising plots to rent and where the best ad boards are? How have others found it with renting out land and finding tenants, does it take a really long time? I don't want to end up paying land tier each month for empty plots, I'd rather someone used them Thank you

I am looking for a Customer Service Agent. (no need to be a premium member) Working for commission your role would involve working the hours that are convenient for you from home. Role would include: Finding prospective tenants to rent the available plots, ensuring plots are not left unoccupied for too long, answering their questions and showing them the plots if required. Sales - ensuring all plots are rented out. Posting in forums, online, advertising in world to find tenants. Locating affordable ad spots in high traffic areas for the plots to be advertised on. Promoting the plots in world for rental, and in group chats. Providing support to tenants liaising with the land owner. Pay and benefits: Paid on commission basis Earn 10% of the monthly Cost of the plot you find a tenant for upon them renting the plot (example: you find a tenant for a plot which costs L$4000/month, you earn L$400 commission) Earn additional 2% per month of plot rental value for providing customer support to existing tenants.
