  1. Yes, when someone says Taiwan considers itself part of China. China owns the main airspace, they have to say China airlines plus the Taiwanese feel if they change the name of the airline away from China airlines, China will shut them down. I feel like that. I was the one banging my head up against a wall, not you. But you need to play a victim or martyr I guess even though this isn't about YOU. rolls eyes
  2. I think it makes sense because if Taiwan considered itself China then the people would be Chinese which they aren't and the people of Taiwan are going through horrible times now even taking up arms to protect themselves. That China airline was started in 1959 and back then they did have the more old-fashioned names and there is confusion about two Chinas but there really aren't two Chinas. China and Taiwan have long been known as China and Taiwan in more modern times.
  3. No. lol You said this: "Taiwan considers itself China." And, I said they don't. They are Taiwanese not Chinese. At least give them that respect plus they are not part of communist China. And me, goodnight too.
  4. I don't think they both consider themselves China. That would be confusing. I will admit it is confusing with one called The Republic of China and one called The People's Republic of China. I just don't know where you are getting your information.
  5. You said Taiwan considers itself China. It does not. It has it's own government. Mainland China goes by the names China. The Taiwanese are called the Taiwanese not the Chinese.
  6. Taiwan is know as the Republic of China or Taiwan, and mainland China is called The People's Republic of China but with those two names it does not make them both China. Read what it says above. So, huh? to your post?
  7. Taiwan does not consider itself China at all. Introduction Taiwan, officially known as the Republic of China (ROC), is an island separated from China by the Taiwan Strait. It has been governed independently of mainland China, officially the People’s Republic of China (PRC), since 1949. The PRC views the island as a renegade province and vows to eventually “unify” Taiwan with the mainland. In Taiwan, which has its own democratically elected government and is home to twenty-three million people, political leaders have differing views on the island’s status and relations with the mainland. https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/china-taiwan-relations-tension-us-policy
  8. Chroma may give an answer or maybe not...I don't know. Anyhow, I right clicked on the picture you are asking about and got some info and the pics name is PLANET SIGNS. So, I typed in PLANET SIGNS in Google and got the below. There is a Wiki link to the pics I will copy/paste below too. Lilith in the symbol picture you are asking about may also have something to do with the Lilith Fair that happened in the 1990's so you may want to check there. My guess was that the symbols are Wiccan. I could be wrong though but with the word Lilith, I thought possibly Wiccan. Haven't had a chance to search it today. A planet symbol (or planetary symbol) is a graphical symbol used in astrology and astronomy to represent a classical planet (including the Sun and the Moon) or one of the eight modern planets. The symbols are also used in alchemy to represent the metals that are associated with the planets. The use of these symbols is based in ancient Greco-Roman astronomy, although their current shapes are a development of the 16th century. The classical planets with their symbols and associated metals are: planet Moon Mercury Venus Sun Mars Jupiter Saturn symbol ☾ ☿ ♀ ☉ ♂ ♃ ♄ metal silver mercury copper gold iron tin lead The International Astronomical Union (IAU) discourages the use of these symbols in modern journal articles, and their style manual proposes one- and two-letter abbreviations for the names of the planets for cases where planetary symbols might be used, such as in the headings of tables.[1] The modern planets with their traditional symbols and IAU abbreviations are: planet Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune symbol ☿ ♀ ♁ ♂ ♃ ♄ ⛢ ♆ IAU Me V E Ma J S U N The symbols of Venus and Mars are also used to represent female and male in biology following a convention introduced by Linnaeus in the 1750s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planet_symbols
  9. This ^^^^^^ picture above is beautiful. Link to cattle in rainforest: https://www.google.com/search?q=cattle+in+rainforest&hl=en&tbm=isch&sxsrf=ALeKk01KFWGrmoLa6B1WOUM0b3ooTCwz9A%3A1624220055506&source=hp&biw=1120&bih=588&ei=l6HPYK_JGfCVwbkP7Z2oqAs&oq=catt&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQARgAMgQIIxAnMgUIABCxAzIFCAAQsQMyBQgAELEDMgUIABCxAzIFCAAQsQMyAggAMgIIADIFCAAQsQMyAggAOgQIABADUJwLWLgRYOImaABwAHgAgAGHAYgB7AOSAQMwLjSYAQCgAQGqAQtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZw&sclient=img#imgrc=cl-sb6L_4E6dgM Most cows in Brazil, the world’s largest beef exporter, are grass-fed. Ranchers in the precious biome use bulldozers, machetes, and fire to make room for pastureland—a practice that’s illegal but so widespread that it’s almost impossible for strapped regulatory teams to root out. A study published in Science in July showed at least 17% of beef shipments to the European Union from the Amazon region and Cerrado, Brazil’s savanna, may be linked to illegal forest destruction. Saving the Amazon starts with (excerpt from article from Bloomberg above) December 2020 Brazil’s Amazon region has suffered more deforestation this year than any in the past decade due to the lax environmental policies of President Jair Bolsonaro. But much can be laid at the feet of cattle farmers.
  10. I think you miss the point. The forest needs to be re-forested and people can be fed if we do it sensibly and not with a bunch of cattle that don't make for very many meals. Most of the world's food came from the rainforests, but still the rainforests still need to be re-forested with plants that naturally grow in those areas, not what doesn't naturally grow in those areas such as cattle. But, I will agree to disagree with you because ditto on the opening your eyes as well that perhaps it can be done sensibly and not so greedily with whatever and that whatever is the most profit. About 80% of all of the developed world's food originally came from the rainforests. Fruits like avocado, coconuts, oranges, lemons, grapefruits, bananas, pineapples, mangoes and tomatoes can all be found in the world's rainforests, along with vegetables such as: maize or sweetcorn, potatoes, and winter squash.
  11. No, I am not unconcerned about the planet. With all that is going on, it is very concerning and concerns me. If land were to be developed in Africa or in South or Central America to make farms, it would have to be done very carefully. One thing the world doesn't have enough of is water. If there aren't adequate water systems, the water breeds bacterium, disease and death. Profiteers have pillaged the forests and it wasn't to make farms to feed people, but just for profits. However, as far as over-population, I do not actually disagree with your assessment. But, Africa and other places do have resources to help human life that are not being appropriately handled. EDIT: The rain forests are being damaged for logging and cattle ranching. I think the world should be vegan anyhow, plus I never said use any rain forrest for farming. There are other areas aside from the rain forests but if it all, it should proceed with extreme caution and carefully. Africa, a continent endowed with immense natural and human resources as well as great cultural, ecological and economic diversity, remains underdeveloped. The majority of the countries classified by the UN as least developed are in Africa.
  12. Yes possibly but it's the developed land that has the value in today's modern world. I think there is some fine land mass available in the South America's including Central America and in Africa that could make fine farms and people could have a far better life in some areas with towns and schools and farms. Here in America, we have a lot of desert and Mountain areas too. I know undeveloped land isn't worth much because my Mom inherited undeveloped land in the desert outside of Palm Springs and received only several thousand dollars for it which isn't much at all. Now if it were developed, she would have gotten a whole lot more. She did not want to develop it, she sold it to a developer for next to nothing though.
  13. Sorry my copy for quote cut off there. I was thinking the other day about my grandparents and my ancestors who may have been left behind in Poland and how these people just came into their homes and towns and stole everything in World War I. The invaders plundered and stole half of Poland if not more including their music and art and just everything, claiming it was theirs. My grandmother made it out of Poland in 1917 with just one steamer trunk, got on a boat and finally landed at Ellis Island in New York. It's land. There are people who are continually believing that land is theirs and it's gone on for Centuries. It's going on now between the Israelis and Palestinians. And, it's going on now between China and Taiwan. One American in Washington said if China takes Taiwan, it's over. All of this is fighting for land. People are evil, Chroma. Many of them are if one looks throughout history. And they want their political and religious system only to prevail. There is enough land on this Earth to share and I cannot comprehend why it cannot be shared.
  14. I know so little about it really. Escaping religious persecution I've heard before as far as North America. South America was invaded by the Catholics rather than the Protestants. Greed/belief they were greater than others due to their education I'd gather and felt it was time that all be clothed and not naked. Many early church peoples had a problem with natives who were naked. That made them a nothing although many of those men had no problem having unmarried sex with the native women, and it's in the Bible that one can have concubines after a "war". Sounds like they wrote that for themselves. Also having sex with a native women gave one a kind of half heir upon the land they were invading. The patriarchy came from the churches at the time of the invading of the Americas, I'd think, albeit most were hypocrites and obviously not sinless. Colonial America (1492-1763) European nations came to the Americas to increase their wealth and broaden their influence over world affairs. ... Many of the people who settled in the New World came to escape religious persecution. The Pilgrims, founders of Plymouth, Massachusetts, arrived in 1620.
  15. Fear probably. Fear or invasion, fear of takeovers by enemies. In Victorian society and prior "rich societies" I believe their fear was a life of drudgery. They believed in order to keep their wealth, one must marry wealth to wealth and thus avoid the life of drudgery. If a rich person's child wanted to marry a pauper for love reasons, they were often disowned. The rich people of those times were mostly the land barons, the rest were mostly paupers or slaves aside from the silversmith, the cobbler or the tailor for a few examples but most were paupers and those were the people who were thought to be living a life of drudgery. One can view through Operas themes the tragic demise of lovers who fell in love and tried to choose love instead of wealth, and in those Operas the theme is prevalent - the lovers or one of the lovers died or was killed. Also, many people married within their family. One can see in the movie "Gone With The Wind", Ashley Wilkes has to marry his first cousin Melanie and cannot marry Scarlet as Scarlet is not his first cousin. They more than likely married within the family to avoid traitors who would/could squander the family fortune as revenge. Many ancient cultures used to marry within their own family to avoid hostile takeovers of fortunes by outsiders. This is shown in the book "Hawaii" by James Mitchner.
  16. Just taking unmet daily needs such as food, I'll tell you my experience. My sister and I in our 20's gave to a charity that was advertised on TV where one could sponsor a child say in India or wherever they said they would allocate the funds too for $15 dollars a month. We both signed up. Later the charity was shut down for misallocation of funds and keeping the funds for themselves. It was a scam. This began a situation where my sister and I became discouraged at charities in general. Many charities are said to be skimming funds into their own pockets which could be embezzlement. Next, where I lived where I grew up I went to our local food bank with a friend who had lost their job and needed help. At our local food bank, she was given wilted rotten lettuce and curdled milk that was completely spoiled. It was disgusting. So, our local food bank was a failure in my eyes, why I don't really know. My friend was also an orphan. She lost both her parents at a young age so my family kind of adopted her. That was the way my Mom was. Next, from what I know in my own community the best place to get some help with clothing for low income are local donation stores called Thrift Stores and there are some good prices there. As far as for food in the two main communities I've lived in as an adult - the one community I lived in for 20 years with my ex-husband had food donations at some of our local Thrift Stores but the food donated there was mostly baked goods and very sugary - sugar muffins, cookies, etc, but nothing really I'd call food. I worked part time in antiques and collectibles, so I scoured Thrift stores for collectible finds this is how I knew about the food drops. But, again, those food drops all seemed to consist to sugary stuff. The community I live in now, the best place I know where one could get food is at a local church. I have a neighbor who goes to church and she is always bringing back goodies from her church free which are usually whole cakes, pies, large bins of cookies. Again, it's all sweet sugary stuff and not really stuff one could use as meals but there is free food at her church. What went wrong? Well, I think it was simply easier or is today simply easy in small communities to know who needs what and/or who is doing without and to help. In today's modern world, it's mostly chaotic. Hands on helping could be great. Our government does need to up the disability income for disabled adults however as that is a ridiculously low amount of money to expect one to live on. People on Social Security or SSI, probably receive close to the amount of money on the right. This is wrong! Family Size (Persons in Family/Household) Annual Family Income HUD Low Income Level 1 Federal Poverty Level* 1 $66,250 $12,880 2 $75,700 $17,420 3 $85,150 $21,960 6 more rows
  17. And, enjoy life more. You know I started to change as soon as I got some scents for my home and some incredible smelling and tasting herbal and herbal and flower teas. My taste buds and my senses went ecstatic. I began to feel we are creations not born to work ourselves to death for 45+ years as our governments want us to do but to enjoy life and all that is here. I began to live again through these amazing scents and teas. The taste and smell of these teas is so marvelous. But, government wants me to work possibly now until I'm 70. This Earth is a paradise and man is ruining it. Man says they want to change and go even greener than before. All we really need is to grow our own food and cook and wash. The rest is all secondary and a profiteers rat-race. Some people are not meant to work 45+ years. Their bodies just are not capable of it and many have repetitive use injuries for one example and then have to live below the poverty line.
  18. By nature I'm simply speaking of the way it started. At the core of our being is survival and that is the same with the Earth, survival. The Earth wants to survive. It gave us a sex drive and we have to eat, in these two things, the Earth hopes to survive. We are also born with senses to see all that is upon the natural Earth. It seems to me at our base we were born to enjoy what we eat with taste buds, enjoy what we smell, enjoy what we see with the colorful earth, enjoy the sounds of the Earth, etc. All the rest of what man and women are we made up ourselves as we evolved. It seems to me that we were born to enjoy life and the Earth through our senses and be it's caretakers. All this work stuff is made up beyond what we need to survive.
  19. Yes but we made those up and we intervene with nature. That is not nature's base that it put inside of us with a drive we cannot deny and to eat. Nature wants us to survive and to nurture it and it found ways to ensure that. Doesn't mean we are not capable of outsmarting it or killing it altogether and many things in between. I am speaking about the base; it is a cycle of life here.
  20. That's only since birth control though and we intervened with nature to cause a change which was we created birth control and you never said this was human post birth control. Pre birth control, I don't see it that way, nor does my ex boyfriend's Aunt who had 19 children. His Aunt also has over 100 grandchildren and I don't know how many great-grandchildren but quite a lot. My parents were both from large families as well. My Mom being the youngest of 11 sibblings, my Dad nearly the youngest of 9 children. Nature is quite crafty. Nature has us by the throat with our sex drive and our need to eat. We have to nurture nature for our survival. This is our base. In the present time, the rest is secondary and us evolving post birth control.
  21. I simply believe what is ingrained in us through nature is to survive. Nature has us by the throat with our sex drive so we procreate to create the younger and the stronger who in turn continue to help nature survive by nurturing nature. And how does nature get us to nurture it? Nature has given us the need to eat, thus we must nurture nature to survive. At our base is survival. Next level, we feel comforted, even little animals too, when they are feed and kept warm. So to me it's survival and comfort and then a bond of family as our universality.
  22. I see humans and animals basically (broad-brush here as I cannot go one by one by one) as simply part of a family with certain needs. Animals are the same as humans, part of a family with certain needs.
  23. There is a saying that money is not worth the paper it is printed on.
  24. Yes they do. My ex used to pay $180 dollars a month just for the cable but that included all the sports stuff. Now if my ex went to about three games a month, it would have cost at least $180 dollars a month to go to the games, so it was worth it in that way but still very expensive I thought. I remember dial-up internet being about $11.99 a month and when internet cable first came out it was $40 dollars a month. So when my ex and I finally switched to cable internet we went from about $11 dollars a month to $40 dollars a month overnight. Cable has been way too expensive. There is low cost cable and internet through A T & T Access though which is for people on SSI or low income. This is affordable internet of $10 dollars a month for those who are low income or disabled. https://www.att.com/internet/access/
