  1. Hi @Rombald78, welcome to the Commiunity Forums. The first thing for you to do is to let us know your settings and system stats. We can try to help further once we know we know what we're dealing with. Go to your top bar menu in your viewer:- Help -> About [viewer name] -> Info tab and copy/paste everything on that page to a posting here. If you need to conceal your location for any reason, either edit it out first or go somewhere bland (like Hatton, which is a Linden water region) to collect these stats. If you can manage to collect these stats while you are logged in, we'll get a bit of extra information which can be very helpful. If not, never mind, just do it while not logged in.
  2. You are being flippant, surely?
  3. Strewth! You just can't win, can you! That was a definite wind-up, though; exactly the sort of thing we don't want.
  4. Check out that person's profile, first - every time! Then, if in doubt, ask them. It certainly is rude to just barge in that way, unless it has been clearly invited. Sometimes a collar might be open accidentally. And, whatever you do do, never interfere with somebody who is being controlled by somebody else. That is a sure way to start a nasty confrontation! I'm sure you would know this, but it does happen.
  5. I got one last month, too. I was amused to see the number of regions I had visited during the year and the comparison with the "average Resident" (if such a Resident could ever exist!). I don't recall getting one during previous years; I am pretty sure this is new. Overall, I thought this was a rather nice touch by LL.
  6. I can see this rapidly degenerating into a "mine's bigger than yours" contest, if we're not careful!
  7. There is a bug with that system. I understand that LL is aware of this but have yet to fix it. At the moment, to ensure that these work, both parties must be online at the time the offer is made/accepted. Many people are very unhappy about this! Particularly those who, like you, cannot be online at the same time. If I can find the relevant Bug Report, I'll post it later (if somebody else doesn't beat me to it).
  8. It might help if the difference between a Simulator and a Viewer was better understood.
  9. I not quite sure about exactly what the OP was wanting to use this for, but just using Ctrl-Alt to rotate the camera around yourself (or anything else) would do? Screenshots were mentioned. Or maybe an auto-rotate function was wanted?
  10. If it is, maybe we are seeing more like a "bot-poking grid"?
  11. @Michaelatv Destiny, You have to be a Premium member to own land because LL's Rules say so. I don't know why either, but, no doubt, LL had sound commercial reasons for it. Mainland or private island? I wouldn't dream of spending money buying mainland. It is still a largely unregulated scrap heap with space junk at low level ruining any chance of a decent sky view and no telling what sort of of ghastly rubbish will turn up on the adjacent parcels. Not many people wander the world these days, either, so the chances of a decent "footfall" to come across your spectacular attraction are pretty low. You'd have to advertise extensively to get people there, and that would be true of a private island too. A private island does, however, give you the full control of what does or doesn't go on there and there are no adjacent regions to spoil things for you. It just turns out to be a rather expensive option, that's all. As to your chances of even recovering your costs, I would doubt that you would achieve that. There seems to be a strange clientele these days that, for one reason or another, is reluctant to seek out things for themselves. I see, time after time, people arrive at a place, cam around a bit and, particularly if nobody else is there, leave. (It tickles me that an often stated complaint is, "there's never anyone there", when they won't stay there themselves!) I like the idea of your space ride! That sort of thing deserves better than it gets. I have a sneaky suspicion though that people won't want to pay for the ride.
  12. Some of that freezing might have been due to other avatars arriving/leaving the region? Just a thought. A heavily weighted scripts avatar can still wreak havoc for a few seconds. Adnittedly, I didn't see any arrivals on your minimap, having looked again.
  13. @Persephone Emerald's third option is the way to go. If you have got a part of your avatar's skeleton to focus on, in the correct place for eyes to really be, you can zoom into that from behind until you just break through the other side, then save that view as a "Fake Mouselook" setting. You'll need to be able to focus on something right at the front of your avatar's head to be able to break through in the correct place. If necessary, place a small prim on the bridge of the nose (or where you think this is) to achieve the correct camera position. It won't work quite the same as a true Mouselook but might be an acceptable workaround.
  14. @Nalates Urriah- From about that same time, I've seen occasional blank screen blips that last only a second or so. This being on Windows 10; same problem? With nothing else running and a fairly decent cpu, maybe my computer deals with it quicker. I'll look forward to reading your blog!
  15. Preferences (Ctrl_P) -> Sound & Media -> Music tab -> Un-check "Allow audio streams to autoplay". (You can do similar for Media.)
  16. There was a hint of that, in the very early days of heading towards AWS. I've never heard a word of it since and can only assume that it is not going to happen, at least for the foreseeable future.
  17. There has been little mention at all about any of the other, possibly very significant, factors that can create poor performance. My first thoughts would have been to ask the OP to submit a copy of their statistics from Help -> About Firestorm. That might well have revealed some obvious problems with things like packet loss, for example (provided those stats are obtained whist logged in). This would have presented a comprehensive picture, in an easily read format, of the OP's system. Admittedly, @Anakin Debevec's screenshot was much better than a lot of people manage, so thanks for that! The About stats are best, though. My second line of approach would have been to question the settings shown in the screenshot (or, better, shown in the About stats). A lot of people just do not understand why turning the wicks up to maximum, on all the settings, is not a very clever thing to do, despite having a sooper-doopa gaming rig. Firestorm makes switching between different graphics settings so easy and it only takes a few seconds to set up some graphics presets, ready to be switched as conditions require. Next comes things like antivirus software interference, other programs running, incorrect allocation of VRAM and RAM, WiFi interference or poor reception/ bad physical connections, bad quality internet provision by the ISP, a router needing a restart (or replacing)..... ... and , as a last resort, you could try different viewers. @davidventer's early interjection, putting the cause down to the use of Firestorm, rather blinkered the conversation to possibly the last sort of thing to be considered. Firestorm is not, nor is ever capable of being, the "100m gold medalist" of viewers. It is, however, worthy of being in the pack and is a very long way ahead of being the couch-potato suggested.
  18. I've found (others seem to have too) that it's simply a matter of things just not rezzing to visibility. They are there, but remain invisible. Do they appear if you teleport away and back (or re-log)? Something is clearly wrong. Tickets have been raised but this problem does continue to happen.
  19. That might translate into "Limited Hours" subscription? If a full year of Premium (includes a land allowance) costs US$99/annum, a "Mon - Thur only" subscription might be be only US$40 but a "Fri-Sun only" subscription would be US$60? Something like that?
  20. It took over 40 seconds for a small change to an outfit to save. That is dreadful compared to previous performance. It is funny how things always seem to go downhill after more "improvements" are implimented!
  21. Yes, all of those entries can only be generated while you are actually online. ...but that is a bit of a conumdrum!
  22. @CaithLynnSayes- these are definitely local chat entries, not IMs etc. that have been sent as offlines:- [2018/10/11 14:32] Teleport completed from Coraline (205,168,55)Teleport completed from Sandbox Wanderton (220,211,27)[2018/10/11 15:36] Teleport completed from Sandbox Wanderton (221,203,27)[2018/10/11 15:36] Enzo Pirate Tattoo Skin Applier: Skin has been applied!
  23. I'm not sure about the other viewers but Firestorm does present the last few entries, of the last saved chat log, in local chat when you log on. I had never given much thought as to where Firestorm gets these from but it seems obvious that the only place it could get them from is the last chat log. If a 2018 chat log file appeared to be the last one saved, then that is where it got them from. Surely?
