  1. For the benefit of others ... A viewer developer (I know) helped me out ... the answer is ... Start the XUI Preview Tool (via Developer ::: XUI ::: XUI Preview Tool) Find the "panel_notify_textbox.xml" in the list Double Click it -- this opens the XUI Panel Then in the Preview Tool, select an entry from the primary language. Alternatively, Go into your install folder then into "skins\default\xui" and then open each "panel_notify_textbox.xml" for each language to get the words. Q
  2. Yes, of course. I already have a platform for converting the bulk of my text to the language the user wants to use. I use notecards that are merged with language resources implemented through scripts because the order and sequencing of dialog and text boxes are dependent on who the client is, and what they want. All that stuff works fine, and is not an issue. What I need is the ability to determine what word is substituted for the word 'Submit' and 'Ignore' buttons so I can properly refer to it in the text. Best, Q
  3. In the viewer preferences, under General ::: Language, there is an option "System Default", which language is that? The language in the operating system or a default viewer language. The reason I am asking, is I have a script that gets information from user, Example: http://example.mm4sl.info . I've been asked to create a version of the script that supports different languages, but have run into a snag. I need to know what words are used for "Submit" and "Ignore" when the language is not English, so that I can refer to them in my textual descriptions. For example, if I run the viewer with "German"; Submit and Ignore are "Senden" and "Ignoreieren", respectively. I can get these words if I manually switch the interface language, but I don't know what words are used when the option is set to "System Default". Can anybody help me? Q
  4. Another thing to look for is a sound source on a nearby parcel. Media can actually be heard several meters from you. We used to have neighbors that had frog sound, and the sound was on a parcel more than 40m away. In the Preferences Dialog, under "Sound & Media" uncheck "Allow Media to auto-play", then log off and log back in. If the sound stops, then you know the source is media. You might find leaving that option off as the solution. If you want to leave it on, you will need to install Firestorm. In the Firestorm viewer, open Preferences, and go into the Sound & Media settings, "Media" tab, and slowly adjust the "Media source volume rolloff distance ::: Completely disappears at" slider, all the way to 1m until the sound disappears. The distance where it quit playing will tell you where the media is that is giving you the sound. I think you'll find the media source is not on your parcel.
  5. If the media and sound options on "About Land" are blank. You want to turn on beacons ... it's in this menu ... "World ::: Show More ::: Beacons", or press "Ctrl+Alt+Shift+N" (short-cut will be different on a Mac). This pops open a dialog box, and check on "Beacons" then "Sound" and "Media". This should show you vertical lines to objects emitting sound or are media sources. Set the width to see the lines better. Hope this helps. Q
  6. We use Second Life's LSL to call a web API we built. We use the HTTP Headers as part of the validation mechanism to make sure that caller originates from Second Life. This week (Monday or Tuesday), LL changed the contents of the header, I believe because they installed a SSL certificate? Anyway, the headers changed and we could no longer validate the call. We were fortunate that we were early in the deployment and nobody noticed but me, however, I need a way to be informed of changes in the future. Because this type of deep technical notice didn't appear in the forums or blogs, and we were caught off-guard.
  7. How do I contact Linden Labs about a deep technical issue? Problem has to do with the configuration of SL's HTTP Headers when LSL makes external HTTP requests.
