  1. No deformer can make another body fit better - ever. That's not how fitmesh works. That certain brand's so called "deformers" are actually entire mesh bodies rigged to a competitor brand's weights - they are not deformers.

Still, it means I'll spend a lot less from now on.

They already changed their tone claiming both old and new Lara will get support. I pretty much bet this statement was born out of shock over the lack of "hurray" from the userbase. How do I arrive at this conclusion? Because it does not seem to be thought through very well.  Let's consider what this boils down to: Of course we all know that in the end product support is not up to Onyx but the market to decide. So I guess it's up to creators to decide whether old Lara has a future. Funny enough that also means same is true for LaraX. ...

... Methinks someone has to rethink their policies for handing out devkits.

  3. Most lag spikes occur when many scripts enter a region at once. The servers don't care wether it is a mesh coloring HUD, an AO, a grid radio or whatnot. They will run all scripts at full speed until enough data is collected on how much they need to be throttled. In my experience the frequency of sim crossings affects spikes way more than the total amount of physics objects or running scripts.

    Short answer - no.

A mesh clothing maker will assume that everyone who now has a Lara body will also have access to a Lara X body. If they rig their new tank top for a Lara X body, it will be a market of many bodies and few clothes. If they maintain the old rigging they'll be in competition with eight years worth of tank tops and lose the custom of those who want something for the new body.

Instead they try to force us to buy new pants with the tank top, which might as well mean no sale.

The 'old' (current) version will remain, so there'll be no trouble to continue using that for current clothing.

But will there still be a market? And no - please don't tell me about the creator backlog that will remain around for a while.

Exactly. I'm not expecting to see any differences as a body wearer.

If you only wear the body and no clothes you might be right.

The Teegles at least are usually real world horses. But they're crazy expensive and basically you need empty regions to have the land impact to rez one (well no, they're "just" 40 which is not too much more than many land vehicles, but it feels super high when you're thinking of putting one on your linden home).

One it's own would feel lonely anyways 🐎

Also notably I saw one of those items describe Maitreya sizing as "Classic" and "LaraX" - hopefully this is how it is done going forward, there's a lot of room for confusion if naming conventions aren't established early.

What about creator's back catalogue? My guess: rebranding won't happen. There will be confused customers. Some of them will go angry and some of the angry folks will do stupid things. Given the popularity of the brand that fraction of a fraction will still be a lot. Public perception of a product is based not on the majority but by those with the loudest voice.

So the brand's future reputation will basically going to be decided by a yelling match between bloggers and disgruntled customers.

Thus are the unwritten laws of the internet. Believing anything else to happen is hopeless optimism at best.

    Get your popcorn ready!

It didn't come with an invisible physics sled....

it is part of the object you should see it in "show physics" option of build menu.

Here's why I suspect this: your usual SL car turns physical on turn on, which causes it to be forced out of the ground. Now there can be reasons your car does a rodeo buckle because of this:

    a) the physics sled is missaligned

    b) a linkset object that should not be physical accidentally is (lightbeam cones come to mind)

I'd offer to look at it inworld but that would have too wait till after my shift is over.

  10. Recently ran into a weird bug. When reordering a linkset the item reverted to the original link order upon taking it back into inventory  and wearing it as attachment. We renamed the thing to make sure the right item was worn, but nope, new name - old link order...

Any idea what can cause this?

But we all know it's NOT a scam, even you.

Do we? I'm no legal expert, are you?

A customer was promised a key product feature which cannot be delivered. Regardless wether this legal, it is frustrating to the customer. LL is providing a luxury service, frustrated customers is not what you want in that kind of business.

Maybe that's to act as a proxy for whatever the potentially Adult-engaged avatar might have been doing "behind closed doors" on Mature-rated regions, so they don't rez in flagrante amidst a proper M-rated infoHub tea party.

Methinks that's the idea. If you get redirected to an InfoHub on a relog after your orgy crashed the sim, you'll always end up on A-rated land that way.

I have it running now on the raspberry and it runs  fast thanks to the raspberry pi adding full vulkan support on Oct 10 release.

Are you running a Pi4 or a Pi5 ? Or even an older one?

Silly Kitty! It's in the post above.
