  1. Truthfully... If somebody said that to me in a bar, I'd assume they needed professional help... The kind that involves burley orderlies helping them into a self-hug jacket with the extra long sleeves, that buckles up at the back... That's not a pickup line, it's an admission of escape from the "Hippie Recovery Unit" at the local Napoleon Factory... LMAO.
  2. Todays edition of the "local newpaper" had an interesting "factoid of the week" page... "Anti-Social Networks" "People who use social media every day are more likely to feel lonely than those who don't" Feel lonely... Very Often SMU's : 10% - Non SMU's :7% Quite Often SMU's 26% - Non SMU's 19% Not Very Often SMU's 46% - Non SMU's 42% Never SMU's 15% - Non SMU's 28% ... Breakdown of lonely social media users by media type... Tumblr - 58% Snapchat - 48% Instagram - 45% Google Plus - 42% Pinterest - 41% Twitter - 41% Arsebook - 37% Linkedin - 36% ... This is apparently from a YouGov report.
  3. Wait! Is this "Prok restarts all the threads from last year where she was proved wrong a thousand times over" week? Why wasn't there a memo, or a public awarenesws poster campaign at least, to warn people of re-treaded necro-wrongness? You were wrong, as usual, you remain wrong, no amount of technical discussion will stop you being wrong. It's been explained to you again and again why you are wrong and the message is right. Just grow up. There is no "rezzing" in Project Stupid for anyone but the experience builder. See! Cured, you can't make a mistake andf get a message you refuse to understand if you can't rez... No, we're not, you still don't understand why you are wrong and the message is right, we still haven't forced every crappy content maker on the grid to remake and redistribute their stuff, and there's still no point in discussing this with you as you'll simply accuse anyone who disagrees with you of being a techno-commie with religious views regarding not listening to you.
  4. Yeah, well, if you are used to high school courses in "web design & multimedia", something that is *complicated* like 3D modeling and UV mapping *might* seem a bit much to cope with. Dreamweaver is a WYSIWYG web page editor, nothing more, it NEVER did 3D modeling. Ever. 8 Years ago? at a high school? Might have been 3D Max, which cost 4-500 usd if purchased with an "educational licence" or best part of 3 grand if purchased normally.
  5. "When you understand the nature of a thing... You know what it is capable of..." Previous "Prokages" delivered to the forum include... . Accounts that are 12 years old are automatically ENTITLED to be trusted completely by younger accounts... . Anyone who knows how a computer actually works is probably a "leftist"... . Anyone who uses a Third Party Viewer is probably some sort of hacker and griefer... Get used to her, we all have.
  6. Congratulations on being two weeks late in discovering that the massive grid wide rez failures that could only be fixed by editing appearance, were the result of the back end implementation of BakeFail-on-Mesh. Funny thing is... Months ago, in the BakeFail feedback thread I specifically questioned if the need to bake 1024 textures, and more of them, would cause server overload problems, and the Linden said that they would "keep an eye on it". Seems they didn't keep much of an eye on it. More FAIL for BakeFail...

All you need, for RLV/RLVa, in inventory, is a folder called "#RLV"" in the root of your inventory. Then once that's made, if you use an RLV/RLVa enabled viewer, RLV/RLVa attachments can access subfolders in #RLV, for wearing or unwearing via the menus.
  8. What did you expect from somebody who accused ME of being a "russian hacker" because SHE used a russian hacker website to bypass the privacy settings on my LL Web profile? Who stated that I knew nothing about RL business practice and must be a "Commie", because I said that RL businesses try to take each others market share, stage hostile takeovers, or put each other out of business. Who openly accuses anyone who has any SL or computer related tech skills of being part of a conspiracy, to delete her stuff from her inventory, including "thousands of valuable gachas". Consistancy? Logic? This thread is a simple repeat of the one she started last year, same self important demands, same pathetic excuse reasons... The holding a box anim wastes resources (unlike the anims in thousands of crappy old furniture items). All the boxes throw script errors because the hold a box anim is missing (so if the anims missing it isnt wasting resources right?). Finding & moving a folder that's delivered automatically is SOOOOOO much harder than moving one with EXACTLY THE SAME NAME that's created when you right click and choose "copy to inventory", which is harder than MAKING a folder and manually dragging items to it (does this person actually have any clue how to use a viewers inventory system?). The list of un-reasons goes on and on and on, and when not if, WHEN, rational people urinate from a great height on all the un-reasons, she'll invent more, even more ridiculous reasons. And for daring to disagree, we'll all be Russian hacker techno commie conspirators in league with the lefties at LL, which stands for Leftist Labs, because they are on the West Coast and hate business and voted Demopublican... Go figure... *rolls eyes*
  9. Pretty typical LL implementation, I bet the portals to "empty experimental conceptual art sims nobody ever visits" work just fine though...
  10. Part of the reason the system is the way that it is, is that reports are... Dangerous... Example... Retarded.Fossilnoob: "Hey everybody, I found a store on the MP run by a FILTHY COPYBOTTER! Their name is Sanity Impair, and they are selling stuff copybotted from Pretentious Overpriced Fashions, for less than 1/4 of the price, why can't I report this directly to the Lab and have Sanity Impair's store deleted and her account banned... heres the Links to the two versions of the item, the real one and the copybot [link1] [link2]" Us: "Look, Sanity Impair isn't a filty coppybotter, yeah that dress looks similar, but that's because BOTH stores bought it as FULL PERM TEMPLATE from this store [link3]. In fact it's Pretentious Overpriced Fashions who are the ripoff merchants here, they bought the template later than Sanity, and charge a hell of a lot more for an "'original creation' that isn't..." ... And that sort of thing is pretty common, Lots of people have heard the term copybotter, and assume that any two stores using the same mesh for their products, the cheaper store MUST be a "Copybotter", because SL-Un-Think says expensive = original and better... THAT is why you can't file takedowns on other peoples stuff for "suspected copybotting" The only thing threads like this achieve, realistically is to provide FREE advertising for the scam store, for those people who hadn't stumbled across it themselves. "Hi I found this evil store here [link] thats selling big brand stuff for pennies! How can I stop them?" Certainly not by naming them in a damn forum thread.
  11. Ah but you probably use one of those "despicable exploit hacker techno-commie TPV's", rather than worshipfully using the OFFICIAL SL Inferiority Viewer, as Philip the Great intended! Worse, you probably have techno-commie skills such as actually knowing HOW to use your viewer. You probably NEVER dumped 15,000 gacha items in the root prim of your inworld HQ by mistake right? Or then blamed the apparent "loss" on an LL organised Techno-Commie conspiracy to destroy Slumlords...
  12. Actually, it's not spleen, it's because 99% of what you write is utter rubbish... This thread is no exception. You did this whole "wear to unpack shopping must be abolished because, false reason: it wastes resources, REAL REASON: people who can unpack without land will be less likely to rent my parcels" before, last year. Your arguments were false and self centered then, and nothing has changed. So, you present "anecdotal" evidence from "a lot of people" that merchants (who create wear-to-unpack items) hate wearing stuff to unpack. I seriously doubt that, I really do. Some TPV's actually allow auto-accepting of inventory offers... But you wouldn't know that of course. More of your "14 years in SL and you STILL don't know how to use a viewer" rubbish. You CAN open a no-mod box, and drag a COPY of the copyable contents to inventory, Generally, they don't, seems you didn't pay attention to how copying a copyable item works. Yes it is, I can unpack my new purchase anywhere, and use it right away, no mess, no fuss, no prim litter left on the ground. Easy. Rez a Fossil Shopper Box on the ground, right click and choose open, click the "copy contents to inventory" button... It makes a folder in your inv with the name of the Box object, you can than drag that folder into whatever folder tree sorting system you want. Or... Wear anew auto-unpack box, it creates a folder in your inv with the name of t he box object, you can drag that folder into whatever folder tree sorting system you want. So as you can see, all that changes is the loss of the need to find some clueless Madlander Slumlord fossil and rent a micro-parcel from them to use as a rez zone... And most importantly it doesn't convince newbies to rent a micro-parcel on which to unpack their 10 year old plywood cube packages, from some Madlands Slumlords, right?
  13. Arrogant, ignorant, spewtube channel quasi-illiterate type-with-their-thumbs iSpend dumbfone using leet gamerz console peasant trash... The fix is pretty simple actually... 9mm Round, fired slightly upwards from behind one ear aiming at the outer corner of the opposite eyebrow... Justifiable Homicide. That's the usual way to detach an attachment, detach... Not exactly "avatar breaking" unless one os a complete idiot. Wrong, Good trick... Come back when you've written it and want testers to tell you that your code doesn't work. You whine that avatars are easy to break and hard to fix, then whine that there are easy to use tools to fix the more serious problems... And you STILL don't get the difference between "30 gb of professional content preinstalled on the local hard disk" and "over a petabyte of amateur content constantly live streamed via the internet". Hell sone it's only been about a year of us constantly pointing this out to you. Some of these "bugs" are so legacy, that the only way to "fix" them would be to close SL, delete 95% of the content, and rewrite the WHOLE SYSTEM in UE4, over the space of say 12 months, then reopen and wonder if any of your userbase will ever come back. This will NEVER happen, get over it, your plan to convert SL into a Thumb-typer friendly UE4 based MMOFPS is doomed...
  14. Because the future isn't some golden place of total happyness... It's the same miserable RL craphole we've all lived in since whenever, where most building is boring and functional, and "exciting and adventurous" building is generally a pain in the backside. True Story: Once upon a time there was an architect called Mies.. He was hailed as a champion of "Modernist Architecture" (lots of glass & concrete cubes). Then he died, and there was much redjoicing. But the Mies Fanbois were dismayed that London didn't have a Mies Mono;ith in its skyline s they came up with a plan to demolish more than 30 Grade 2 Listed buildings in the City, and erasing a few dozen slamm streets, to make room for a HUGE Mies Monolith right in the heart of the Capital. Oddly, the general public showed a COMPLETE LACK of support for the campaign to "improve and modernise" their city with a massive glass and concrete block designed 30 years earlier by an arrogant idiot. Oh and as for the dystopian thing in 3D... Probably because of an old friend of mine, over at the old Team Dystopia website, since he's an architect who designed and made over 100 3D "futuristic city blocks", wich were widely sold and used as backgrounds for a lot of 3D sci-fi renders, you can see a few around the ankles of the 4 stratoscrapers in the image above. People used his stuff to make Dystopian builds for their Blade-Runner style work. Even Luc Besson, trying to make a non-dystopian movie about the future, with "The 5th Element" had that whole massive skyscrapers above fog shrouded depths of ruin and decay thing going on. The buildings for the most part, are pretty much the same on the outside as current ones, just a lot taller with a few extras stuck on like the vertical trams. See, rendering the future as it really will be is BORING, houses in 10 years will look just like houses now, only newer. Industrial areas will still have boring buildings made of brick, and cinderblock, and corrugated metal. Office blocks will still generally be square-ish towers, and minimalist-semi-neo-classical, will still be popular for stuff, post modernist for other stuff. Cities are ORGANIC, you don't generally get some hella-kewl designer moving in and replacing the entire cityscape all at once with "Futureness", you get a building here and a building there, which have to obey planning and zoning regs, about fitting in. People don't build 1 km tall tower blocks in the middle of suburban housing areas, people dont build half mile wide complexes in crowded urban areas formally owned by dozens of smaller property developers because some of them won't sell, and its expensive. It's all going to look they much the same. The days of telling what decade buildings are from their appearance is kind of over. Cities like Shanghai have that dated "futurist feel" because they were proving how modern they were in exactly the same say the Mies Fanbois wanted to modernise London, except the regime there didn't care that peole might not want their comfortable old style buildings replaced with "Futureness you cant lay a carpet in".
  15. Search for "bondage witch project luggage"...
  16. YOU... Don't... YOU contact the people who's products YOU think are being stolen and tell THEM, then THEY decide if you are right, and then THEY file DMCA takedowns with LL.
  17. Yeah well... MD... I mean, walk in there wearing a pair of thigh boots, and stand near the cuffs vendors and you should only have to wait about 30 seconds for *incoming im alert noise* "Hello, I, a no limits german sklavin am being. Your Domina boots, lick, may I, bitte?" ... Take a sub with you in one of those BWP leash-able steel luggage cases..., that usually scares off the "MD No Limits Subs" pretty fast, they get as far as the no limits announcement, thewn notice you have somebody locked in a small steel box on wheels training behind you and vanish!
  18. We occasionally get "adventurous architecture" here in the UK, usually by scandinavian architects... I't usually horrible. See, you can for example, do one of those "adventurous" geodesic sphere based designs, but, people HATE living in them, they are a swine to carpet, as carpet doesn't come in huge discs, it comes in rectangular sections on a roll... People hate rooms with walls that slope inwards or outwards by mad amounts, and triangular rooms, or other odd ngon shapes. Curved corridors are a ***** to fit flooring to, "Adventurous" designs generally are designed to look "hella-kewl" not to actually be used every day by real people. Can you imagine what living in a 1.2 km high tower (second from left in picture below) that twists by 60 degrees as it rises would be like? Imagine the vortex effects caused by the wind blowing past it, and the updraft caused by sunlight on all that solar control glass, imagine having your shirt sucked right off your back as you tried walking across the pavement to the buildings doors. Imagine trying to lay carpets and arrange furniture in a corner apartment where there isnt a single right-angled corner in the damn place, and the outer wall slopes inwards. Imagine trying to get furniture delivered, when you live on the 387th floor. "Adventurous Architecture" basically sucks.
  19. You might also have noticed, if you were paying attention, that there are about 24,000 sims, and that at any given time there are between 30,000 and 50,000 accounts online, so that averages at a little under 2 people per sim. Since many sims in fact have a lot more than 2 people, some will be empty. Weird isn't it, I mean it's like residential suburbs in RL... You go to a quiet residential suburban street late at night and EVERYONE is in their houses, with the doors closed! Nobody is hanging out in the street, just in case some asshat walks by and wants to chat... They are NOT hiding, they are minding their own business, in their own homes. Contrary to popular opinion amongst SL's less clued up citizens, most places are NOT chat hangouts or RP venues. Many people frequently spend HOURS a night NOT roleplaying badly put together 2 dimensional cardboard cutout RP characters... Go figure
  20. Marine Kelly, creator & owner of "Real Restraints", creator of the RLV Viewer, creator of RLV. And as mentioned elsewhere in the thread, Pak is a hut in the middle of an empty plot, with a few wannabe-masters standing about waiting for a chance to grab some keys when people unpack their goods or unlock to use the updater. There's a second official store, and the goods can be obtained at various other places, including the other 3 official update centers. Frankly, you could NUKE Pak and it wouldn't matter from an RR users point of view.
  21. It's fairly clear... But since you have a proven track record of failure to comprehend criticisms of bad devs, I'll clarify for you.. 1. Being a "good coder" does NOT automatically make you a "good Dev", often it can mean exactly the opposite, especially on 1 person micro-dev teams, where it tends to lead to "What! You DARE say theres a bug in MY code, I R LEET!" syndrome. 2. The INDUSTRY STANDARD for dealing with faulty releases for software, across the board for the last 35-40 years has been "roll back to a build that works while the devs correct the mistake in the latest version". This for example is common practice when you download the latest drivers for a gfx card and discover they fubared something, hell the OS often provides a "rollback" button for that purpose. 3. Forcing auto-updates every time the software is run, automatically unrolls your rollback, and thus TERMINALLY breaks the ability to "use an older version that works" while waiting for the dev team to fix the broken "new version". ... THAT is why devs who want to force unnecessary auto updates on people REGARDLESS of "fallback positions" on the assumption that anyone not happy with this weeks buggy crap can "stop using SL or switch to a rival viewer" , despite being good coders, can be bloody awful devs who shouldn't be allowed ANYWHERE near the decision making process on the dev team.. How do I deal with that? I don't because it doesn't bloody matter, I don't see their "lookat targets" ever, I don't in Catznip and I didn't in Black Dragon, unless you have done another of your "Nirans the Great knows best" feature updates and FORCED everyone to see others lookat targets. Did you remove the ability to NOT see other peoples lookat targets? Tsk Tsk Tsk... So the reason you have scared paranoid users is... You made a Bad-Dev Decision... Don't blame other viewers for YOUR failures.
  22. Ahhhh... "Personally i'm all for full forced "latest only" updates" "I have had so many people tell me they use version X for reason Y. There is never a reason to silently use version X" First comes the arrogant "knows very little about good practice in software development" statement... "Having three major versions is actually a big benefit and goes as good fallback plan in case something goes haywire... and it always does... it always does." Then comes the desperate backpedal to a "fallback position" because... Breaking the "roll back to a version that works" fallback position that's an industry standard in serious computing, is the BEST justification there is for permanently banning any coder who advocates needless FORCED auto-updates because they are "hella-kewl", from EVER writing code ever again...
  23. People have spent best part of a year trying to tell him that, pretty much every time he said something like "i know nothing about SL or 3D, but why isn't SL more like fill-in-the-blanks-with-your-cooked-content Unreal/Unity MMOFPS games?" He still doesn't seem to get the difference between a pre-cooked 30gb one time download and continually streaming a selection from over a petabyte of uncooked content...
  24. That isn't the implication of the words "what do people think about..." or "I want to hear peoples opinions on..." etc... Perhaps next time you start a thread with the attitude you state, you should be more honest and open with the words... "I'm arrogant and hold an unpopular & unsupportable opinion, come at me bro!" Forced Auto-Updates FORCES bpeople to eityher use BAD builds while they wait for a fix, OR swap to a rival app, or simply give up. It removes the ability to ROLL back to a previous working build. There's your bad reason, one you have yet to refute with your "leet devs release perfect software and when they do fubar they hotfix within hours..." crapolla. Bad for your "forced updates are the key to good software" crapolla... There's the thing, according to YOU, forced updates with weekly "broken piece of untested crap" builds released on a friday, so the devs can read a weekebds worth of complaints on monday and start work on the 4 daily hotfix patches for the following week, prior ro next fridays "buggy crap of the week" release, is THE best way to make "quality software" but that is exactly how Catznip doesn't do it. They prove your claims untrue. In professional Corporate IT operations, we call the fall back plan "rolling back to a build that works", something you CANNOT do if the damn software automatically unrolls to the defective new build with forced updates. That's why forced updates are a pile of crap. They piss on the fallback plan. Actually son, the thing that you did that riled me was deciding to piss on 10% of the worlds computer users by deciding that cursor keys were forbidden, and that only left handers could possibly object to FORCED wasd keys... A decision you reluctantly recanted on after a tidal wave of abuse from your user base! Actually, son I don't hold games companies in high esteenm, as they usually take sloppy short cuts... And when I say "professional IT, I'm talking about people in corporate IT departments who have to cope with stroppy head-up-own-arse coder prima donnas who get all pouty when Ops tells them that their untested crap will NOT begoing live on the main system until AFTER its been carefully evaluated. To put it bluntly, I used to get paid money to tell people like you that their code sucked and to go away and fix it BEFORE its released to users. And you think that a shorter release cycle will, when evidence suggesats quite the reverse? Lets be really clear here... You stated that forced auto-updates are a 'good thing' when 'done properly'. You stated that LL weren't doing them properly. You stated that you would like the LL Launcher not only to force auto-updates of the SL inferiority Viewer, but also of ALL tpv's. You stated that FS should switch to the "crap of the week on friday, plus 4 daily hotfix patches on mon-thu" method, with forced auto-updates. ... What that suggests to me is that you want LL to FORCE FS to FORCE their users to use a buggy broken build with NO ability to roll back to a build that works, so as to piss off as many FS users as possible and encourage then to "switch to a different brand thats updated every week, and is hella kewl with all the latest geekware features..." such as... Your brand... .. Maybe you should devote your energy to dealing with your own viewer, instead of trying to fubar everybody elses by forcing them to dance to your schedule..
