  1. LL constantly blames creators not knowing how to make mesh properly as one of the reasons for lag, etc & here they are giving us mesh from them that is badly made. I mean, come on.
  2. I see yours just fine as well. But, I have a friend that can see mine from one of his accounts but his alt can't see it. LoL No idea why it happens.
  3. Running a store takes a lot of time and dedication so I run mine on my main avatar. Hailee here is for when I want to sit down & discuss things with other adults without having to worry about childish person attacking my store (has happened) because my views don't match theirs, etc..
  4. Good point, that is true. I think my brain went along a crazy wavy trail of they just got tired of running it. lol
  5. *Since by the time I made it through the thread it had turned into a commission fee argument, I will add my thought on that first & then everything else under that. *In regards to the coming marketplace commission fees. I think it should be based on each individuals sales. Some merchants make thousands of US dollars a month & others may only make a few dollars. It's hardly fair for it to be the same flat fee for everyone just my opinion. As to possible changes, I went through & used all the ones I agree with in order of importance to my own experience: 1. The ability to ban a customer from our marketplace front as we can inworld. (would pay a higher premium membership fee for this ability alone) Edited to add: Though the reason it will probably never happen is the same as listed below in #13. 2. Please fix the keyword listings. Just saying that the item has been added to the adult category because of a keyword problem but not telling me what the word or words are is in no way helpful & can take hours of going through word by word until you find the problem & which usually makes no sense. 3. The ability to get re-deliveries for copy items. Someone had mentioned that alongside the 'Add to Cart' & 'Buy As Gift' buttons there could be another button 'Redeliver Previously Purchased Item. 4. The ability to change something on every listing at once or singularly. Someone had mentioned an editable field for policies used on every listing so you don't have to paste them in every description. 5. Bulk upload of images. 6. More than one store front per avatar 7. Ability to bulk edit Slurl. 8. A gacha category 9. The ability to add a store manager option who can edit & create listings & do re-deliveries from the web page. 10. The ability to favorite designers/stores & to go even further to then be able to save your favs from them under the favorite listing. The way everything is all piled into one favorites folder now makes it impossible to find things easily. 11. The ability to make a Wish list others can buy for me from. Once bought, the item is removed from the list & you're notified of a gift. 12. More flagging options. Personally anyone should be able to flag copyrighted items & they should be reviewed & taken down with or without a DMCA being filed because sometimes it's clearly copybotted, such as people using Disney or other big name brands. Leaving illegal items up until the holder of a copyright comes forward is NOT an appropriate way of dealing with something illegal when you KNOW it's not allowed. Personally I'm not sure how LL can't still be held liable if they knew but did nothing until they were contacted. I would think that is risky. 13. Someone had also mentioned deleting merchants who no longer have an account or have not logged in for more than a year. That is a great idea, but, not one I think LL will ever implement. LL makes money off of every single sale whether that person logs in or not. That's also why I think they leave up store fronts on avatars they have banned from SL, because they make money off of them indefinitely. Something to note, if banned you can't cash that L$ out for RL $ either because you can't access your web page to sell the L$ to be able to do so. Keep that in mind if you normally let your L$ build to high amounts before cashing out. Same goes for if LL were to suddenly close SL, L$ balance is lost, only what was cashed out to your US dollar balance will be refunded, at least that is what I have always heard.
  6. In the old days there was a drop-down menu with a lot of last names to pick from (you choose your own first name). If I couldn't find a last name I liked to go with the first name I wanted I would just sit & hit refresh ever so often to get a new set of last names to choose from, could do that a few times before it went right back to the original list they had shown me. The best part of last names coming back for me is the fun of coming up with a first name no one in SL has ever had & then finding the coolest last name possible. Sometimes waiting & trying a few days in a row to get more choices before settling on one. It stopped being fun when they took away the last names. I to agree anyone with the last name of Resident should get one free name change, it's only fair since it wasn't their choice to get stuck with it.
  7. Hi all, since the introduction of Bento on the grid I have been having an issue that I can't quite figure out. When I am animating a piece of furniture (I use Avsitter & have for years) I can set the male & female animation in a couples pose & it looks fine. I dump the info, add it to the AVpos note card & retest & my avatars body breaks. It contorts into a weird back broken stance & won't change until I hit un-deform avatar. That fixes me until I run through the animations again & it breaks again. It's not always the same animation causing it either. It's weird I can put a totally different animation in and it will break in the same place. Some people see it break for them as well & others do not. I'm at a loss as to how to fix it. In my 8 years, I've never encountered this issue & it only happens if I have bento animations in my furniture, but, I can't be the only person not using Bento on the grid. Any ideas on how to fix it? I took off my ankle lock, all my huds to do with head or body & my AO. Still happens. Is it possible that it was uploaded wrong or something?

  9. You can choose which users can purchase from your marketplace store. Example: If you have had to ban someone inworld for whatever reason you can then also take away their right to purchase items from you on the marketplace. It would help keep people from attacking a merchants livelihood over personal issues, like an ex or troll, etc. Also the choice to have your items rated or not would be a nice addition.
  10. I think a creator should be able to choose to allow reviews of their item or allow no reviews for their items. It doesn't matter how well you word your description or how many times you tell someone to please try a demo first 98% of the customers are just to lazy to read or follow directions. If they did read and follow directions then almost all of the problems they end up complaining about wouldn't be a problem because they would have known before they bought the item that they didn't like it. But, you can bet your sweet bum they won't blame themselves for their own laziness, but they will blame the creator. It also doesn't usually matter how nice a creator is to a customer, 99.9% of the time, said customer is going to be rude and disrespectful. Most don't even contact the seller to say they have a problem and give a chance to have it rectified, they just slap a bad review up on the marketplace and walk away and even if contacted by the creator and given a refund, most don't ever even say thank you or remove the bad review, because they just don't care. This is what you need to remember...they don't care about anything or anyone but themselves. If you want to actually make decent RL money in SL you have to take it all with a smile, keep your mouth shut, your opinion to yourself and act like they are always right. Otherwise your reputation goes in the gutter.
  11. I have it turned on all the time unless I go somewhere really laggy, then I will turn it off until I leave.
  12. I get all warm and fuzzy when I remember back to when I first started SL and things were all bright and shiny and new. Before I got hurt a lot, before I found that trust was a rare thing here, before everything went t*ts up and I got so jaded that SL is barely worth logging into anymore. I miss my rose colored glasses....
  13. I think there is possibly a third reason for a creator to make their furniture phantom and that is simply personal preference. As long as the furniture is modifiable, it can be made unphantom easily. If phantom furniture is such a horrible thing to contend with for someone they can always go demo said furniture before purchase or ask to demo it if there is no demo inworld and if the creator won't take the time to let you demo it, then it's really not worth getting anyway IMO. Also, I don't see why someone being proud to show that they can make a beautiful item for only one prim is considered having an ego. If someone puts time, effort and care into something they do whether it be building, emoting, etc., they should be proud of it. To me, having an ego would fall more into the acting like your sh**t don't stink or you're better than everyone else, but that is just my opinion.
  14. Make sure you make your alt an owner as well in case you ever accidentally delete yourself from the group your alt then can re-add you as an owner. I know, it doesn't sound like it would happen often, but, it's happened to me and a friend a couple of times. Thinking we had a group highlighted I pressed delete and then realized I had accidentally highlighted the wrong group..duh...panic sets in until you remember your alt can re-add you. lol
  15. Even if they are banned or their account is deleted if you have the ability to add someone to the access list on the about land tab inworld, it will find their name and from there you can click their name and get their profile so you can IM them. I do it all the time if I can't find someone by using the search feature, even if I know they closed their accounts cause you never know they may come back again, just saying.
  16. I personally prefer that items be phantom, there is nothing more annoying than walking through a place and getting stuck because ten items around you are all set to non phantom and you have to devise an escape plan just to get around it all or standing up from an item and being thrown across the room like the furniture thinks you have cooties or something (and yes the launching does still happen on occasion.) That being said, every creation is the vision of the builder so it's their choice whether it's phantom or not and most places have display models you can check out before you buy things and if they don't most creators are really kind and if asked nicely don't mind setting an item out for you to check out or at the very least could tell you whether or not it was set to phantom.
  17. I wish the system could be upgraded to handle what has been given to us to use and create with without having to use other features that ruin the look and immersion of SL. We can turn people into blobs of ugly jelly that ruin the entire visual experience or render everyone invisible which leaves you feeling isolated and alone but they help remove the lag or you can have a great visual experience surrounded by (usually) amazing looking avatars but you can't move because you're so lagged out. I can play other games on ultra mode with tons of fighting and graphic intensive things going and never have a problem, but if I try to go to a shopping event in SL I have to drop my graphics to Low or Mid, render everyone invisible and turn off fog, clouds, water, etc. to even have a hope of loading everything or moving and even then it often takes upwards of 15 to 30 mins or more to get it all loaded and my system specs are not horrible: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6800K CPU @ 3.40GHz (3399.99 MHz) Memory: 32604 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit (Build 15063) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2 I know it would probably cost a fortune, but they just said they have a fortune to use to make changes, so make ones that would definitely pull in more people and help out the residents that have already given SL their all for nearly 15 years.
  18. I won't link to the video because it uses a curse word we can't use here but the song is called FFF and it's by Bebe Rexha. Should be the theme song for SL.
  19. It always baffles me that people seem to think that a company shouldn't make money. LL is a company, if they can't make funds to offset the cost of the things they do for our world (Second Life) then they will go under and you all will really be b*tching then. For the sheer amount of work involved they really don't take much from us, yes it's a fairly large hike all at once but overall they honestly could take money in many other ways as well if they wanted to. I don't like having to give anyone money, but, I do understand how a business works. If they don't make money, eventually we won't have a Second Life or any income that we used to make in Second Life either. So to me it's worth it.
  20. I never said anything about them choosing people that can't create decent stuff, that is clearly evident from just looking at someones items before offering them a place in the event. I to spend a lot and I mean thousands of dollars a year in SL and have since my original creation in 2007. I am an avid event attender and I hate seeing unskilled creators being allowed to add eyesores to top events. However, not everyone new and not all smaller stores fall into that category just because they are new and small. I think it's LL's responsibility overall to showcase talent and creativity of large and small stores. That small store you give a chance to could end up becoming your next top earner because of it. Not to mention, it's just a nice thing to do. Favoritism is just wrong. There are plenty of small and/or newer stores that put out nice things, a lot of gems can be found. If they are only going to pick pretty much the exact same people every event, there shouldn't be a charade of "everyone" actually having a chance. I still don't see the problem with the idea, one small/newer store for every big name store. The big names stores aren't the only ones that contribute to SL, just saying.
  21. I have multiple accounts I've closed, the longest closed one was a bit over 10 years ago, and I tried adding them to the ban list on my sim and they all still show up, also, none have left my friends list and one is still showing up in the partner box of an old friend that left SL a few years ago. No one ever truly is gone.
  22. I love my Catwa head, but, the biggest help would be if it had a rerouting ability on its HUD, like another popular head that won't be named does, so you can choose which layers you want to apply things to so you don't have to apply blush to the blush layer you can apply it using a hair base layer if you want or an eye shadow layer, etc. Or make the makeup layers separate mesh pieces like yet another popular head does and you can simply stack your mesh layers on top of one another. Upper and lower is ok, but, it really doesn't give enough options. There needs to be a way to add multiple layers on every layer, like 4 blushes, 4 eye shadow, etc. I can't wear my eye crease, eye liner, eye shadow and cute little eye gems because there simply are not enough layers. As far as looks go I feel rather limited on what I can do to make myself look the way I truly want, but, I love the skin applier I have with my Catwa head and the lollipop ability so, for now I haven't gone back to my other head(s), but, most likely will eventually if the layer issue doesn't change.

    refund

Usually the best way to start out is to contact the creator, check their profile to see if they ask to be contacted in a specific way, some prefer note cards, others prefer IM's. Then make sure to include the transaction details of your purchases and a description of the problems you are having. Try to stay calm and respectful (even though I know it can be highly irritating when we waste money on things that aren't working), being nice and calm and giving the benefit of the doubt gets way more help than making a creator feel like they are being attacked (even if they are in the wrong). It's usually good form to give 24 to 48 hours for them to respond, since most people have a busy RL. If things don't get resolved to your satisfaction you can always flag the items if they are indeed advertised incorrectly. At the end of the day though, a creator may or may not give a refund and LL rarely gets involved in resident disputes, but, if the items are advertised incorrectly they may pull the item if you flag it, but, please give the creator a chance to fix the problem first. Most are really nice and helpful, if you are nice to them as well.
  24. Don't let anyone tell you that you have to just suck it up and deal with it, you don't. A lot more creators are making realistically scaled homes and furnishings, you just have to spend time hoping around inworld to stores to find them is all. No one should be told they have to "just deal with it", it is a completely unhelpful response. I made my avatar my RL height of 6'0 years ago and I looked like I was 6 or 7yrs old next to all the giants in SL. But, now my 6'0 height is actually the one looking like a giant now, even though it is my RL height. lol I am not going to change it just because someone else says I have to if I want to find things that work with my size. Instead, I will just find like minded people that know how to build correctly and find my happy place that way. The Domineaux Effect and Roost are my go to housing choices for really nice, realistically scaled, textured and laid out houses. They may seem a bit pricey to some, but, I am more than willing to pay for realism, low LI and great customer service. Hard to find all three of those usually, but those two places have it.
