To keep this from derailing, it would be fairly easy to make an "inspired by" character in SL. Latex cat suit, short brunette hair, gun with liquid silver bullets, take-no-prisoners attitude...
A while ago I recreated a scene from the beginning of the first Underworld movie where Selene was chasing a lycan through the subway. Needless to say it became a hit on my flickr.

Vampires do not exist. Anyone that says otherwise is some sort of mythological creature.
I know, right? I haven't seen a single vampire in all my time for the past few centuries. I even asked my friends over at the castle and they haven't seen any either, and they have been around longer than I have.

How much time do you spend on getting it 'right'?
That entirely depends on what you're aiming for. The style and theme you go for.
The time can vary between 10 minutes and 6 hours in my case.
I also prefer realism in my works and avoiding adding effects that will make my photos unrealistic or swarmed. One such example would be painting over the original photo, making it look as if it was drawn - a method that is very time consuming.Depending on the tool you use you can apply different effects and looks, having the option to layer images is the bread and butter of all editing. If you don't feel like adding too much and simply want to enhance the original image I suggest adding depth, shades and highlights. There are countless guides on the aimed aimed at achieving these specific effects, some even posted by SL users doing inworld photography and later editing it. Keep in mind that some of the effects people will add in their guides or what you see on Flickr comes from premium plugins that don't come cheap.

Isn't Firestorm even mentioned in the new users onboarding experience? If LL advertise it in their tutorial then it's kinda clear how good it is. The official viewer to FS is like using Edge to download Chrome.

an i9 11900K, 64gb of ram and a 16gb arc A770 running firestorm in 4k at max settings minus render distance depending on locale
After quick search and benchmark comparisons your graphics card is the bottle neck of your PC which would explain why you struggle rendering everything. SL is very hungry for GPU utilization and doesn't care what other parameters the machine has due to it's old architecture. I have GeForce RTX 3060 TI and like I already mentioned, I have zero issues.
I don't think the mobile version will operate any better on crowded places unless they seriously mutilate the graphics bringing it back to before mesh days. While mobile devices' specifications have improved so much over the years to a point of being able to compare to PCs, they are still fairly limited to what you can put inside due to their size. The way I see is that the mobile app will probably be an improved version of SpeedLight which already offers pretty much everything you need except for inworld movement and interaction.

Im tired of my gaming PC in all its capabilities being brought to its knees by 5 avatars in my line of sight and people defending that for some ungodly reason.
What kind of computer do you have?
I can easily load 40 avatars while maintaining steady 80+ fps(I also run on BD which is heavier on the performance than FS)

I'd rather recommend lowering the SSAO Factor setting instead
Which is why I also mentioned also adjusting the setting as well in my comment

A place long favourite of mine apparently have begun expanding and while it's still under construction I couldn't help to sneak over.
A place where once upon a time I accidentally met certain @Scylla Rhiadra in person for the first time

(Can I find a pose of someone licking my legs, though?)
(I can think of some stores that might have such poses )

If the option below is checked for you, uncheck it. You can access by pressing F1.
Second, hop in the settings > display and scroll to SSAO and make sure the sliders look something like this
Third, take Rowan's advice and check if you have something hidden attached around your neck area. If there is SSAO will typically catch it and cause the weird neck lines you see.

If I was to purchase one right away, would Anypose do most everything I would need to? Or would I eventually find myself getting Animare as well?
I do photography professionally for quite a while using Animare. For me it gets the job perfectly, but as Eddy said and I in my earlier post, Animare has limited capabilities compared to AnyPose. That too can be bypassed with other products who in my opinion do better job in AnyPose. They are all HUD controlled that simply require your model to grant you permissions.
FATE Hand poser - for very detailed and fine hand adjustments
Lelutka Axis - the best facial expressions control HUD out there on the market that works with every Mesh head.To put it in financial perspective, in order to fully utilize Anypose's features that will cost you 4500L. As for alternative, Animare - 1299L, FATE - 695L, Lelutka Axis - 1500L, total sum of 3495L.
Pros and cons:
For AnyPose all the features are stuffed in one HUD which can be both good and bad. You have less attachment on yourself, everything is packed in single HUD and can be overwhelming to navigate and work with.
For Animare, FATE and Axis you have 3 HUDs attached to your interface which can be pain in the butt if you're on relatively small monitor as the HUDs will overlap with each other. On the Upside for finer adjustments FATE and Axis provide better features and are very to work with compared to AnyPose. To summarize all the nonsense I said - If you're looking for simple joint adjustments Animare is ideal for your needs. If you're looking to get into fine tuning then you will have to invest.

It will help you for sure.
Furthermore Animare comes with guest HUDs which you can give to your friends and adjust their bodies from your HUD. It's very easy to use and gets the job done.
While no HUD can come even close to the posing capabilities Black Dragon offers, you can't make adjustments of others using it. That's where products like Animare and AnyPose come in.AnyPose provides more options and detailed joint adjustments but costs significant amount, so keep that in mind.

You can in fact do it.
You can't use any npc model thou, it has to be animesh. You can do it using Black Dragon viewer and attach the animesh object to yourself, from there you can access it and adjust it using the built in poser.

1. The main website. It's straight out of 1999. Listing things on marketplace is so tedious because of the god awful UI. This is the easiest to fix. Won't take even 3 months and more than a couple 1000 dollars. Does Linden Labs not make any money? I'll be surprised.
You really don't know how front end development works do you? Or how much developers charge?
