Difference between mainland region and private region
Sister Nova replied to Kathlen Onyx's topic in Mainland
You have to be a premium a/c in order to own a mainland region, as it really is just the largest mainland parcel you can get. You don't need to have a premium a/c in order to have a private region. I don't think you get any region powers on the mainland region. As others have already commented, the big draw with mainland is being connected to other regions. You can only join your private region to others owned by you, or where the owner of any other private regions that you wish to join are in agreement for you to do so. -
Iris is indeed mainland, it's on the Heterocera continent. If you look at the 'about land' window for your (or any other) parcel, select the 'covenant' tab and you will see the land type displayed there towards the bottom of the window underneath the region name. I hope you enjoy the region and I wish you well in your new home

'Banned' while flying at Bellisseria
Sister Nova replied to Jerilynn Lemon's topic in General Discussion Forum
Having the LL orb set to group does not create ban lines on a parcel. Orb settings and parcel settings are different. You CAN select group only access on an orb, but NOT on the LH parcel setting (which is the selection that creates ban lines for everyone else). Yes, I saw that you had set your LevelGuard to NOT have group only access in Bellisseria, I was just trying to be helpful and point out that that is not an issue, and that the LL orb does allow a group only setting. -

The group only access is handy to have, and is much easier to set than entering a load of names on a whitelist. Although land cannot be deeded to group within Bellisseria, a group can be set on the land. The LL Bellisseria orb has a group access setting. -
The map can take up to three days to update. But as you rightly say, it’s just the ghost of a region that has been moved.

Are the clouds to blame? x3
Sister Nova replied to Gwin LeShelle's topic in General Discussion Forum
The fact that you are crashing so much would be a major cause for your problem with your changes not saving. This has always been a problem, not a fault of the uplift. I do understand how frustrating it is, and in order to prevent it, whenever I make a change to any item I detach it, wait a few seconds and then reattach it again. This should then save the change, and in the event of a crash (which prevents the changes updating that occur during a normal logging out process) the save will already have been made. I have followed this practice for many years, and it does seem to work for me. -
I can still remember the mentor who helped me back in 2006. I think it was a wonderful system.

'Banned' while flying at Bellisseria
Sister Nova replied to Jerilynn Lemon's topic in General Discussion Forum
Initially the Linden Home Orb was a higher LI than the ones that most people use and so Patch stated in the forum* that the others could be used as long as they complied with the covenant. But he also pointed out that that practice would be reviewed if they didn’t comply. The LL orb has for some time now been as low LI as the others, if complaints are still forthcoming maybe that review will be following. *Penultimate paragraph of initial post -
Second Life History - what happened to......
Sister Nova replied to Charlotte Bartlett's topic in General Discussion Forum
Ah yes, I was a regular visitor to her store! Was Gurl6 the store name? I’ll have to raid my original av’s inventory and see if I still have any items from back then. -
I think they would possibly get more applicants with the ‘Daddy’ type names

Best place to lease on a water continent - 4096+
Sister Nova replied to Tony Giffen's topic in General Discussion
Bellisseria Houseboats are 1024 sqm, the only 512 sqm are Campers. There's a new community on the east of Sea of Fables, which was still building when I last looked but they were offering rentals, so might be a good place to look @Tony Giffen -
The Non Linden Home Picture Thread - Mainland Only
Sister Nova replied to Ingrid Ingersoll's topic in Mainland
I’ve seen this from my own parcels from time to time. Usually they go once the owner has decorated their parcel. 🤞 -
I shall make sure to at least wave if I see you on my travels

Question about renting land - Group Rezzing
Sister Nova replied to JuliettRose's topic in General Discussion
Hi Juliett. When I have managed an estate in the past it was set up pretty much as you have done so. Only tenants received rez rights by being in the group and MOST people had no problem sticking with their prim allowance and on their own parcels. Each parcel should have all the people that are allowed to rez there on the Casper list for that meter, and that will then let them, and you, know how they are doing with regard to their limit. However, you will need to monitor the prims on the parcel by going to each and checking the about land objects tab, and then making sure that the only people showing in the objects list are those on the tenant list for the Casper meter for that parcel. If you don't have a bot handling group invites and ejects you will also have to do that manually. It has been a couple of years since I was involved in doing this, and if there is now an easier way in which to do it, hopefully someone will soon let us know. Good luck with it! -
The chalets are still being rolled out, so until they've all been taken they will appear on the available page. This is the usual situation as each theme is released. Cabin and camper regions are released periodically too (some nice coastal regions still in development).

Sister Nova replied to Ingrid Ingersoll's topic in Mainland
I love owning land and also have rentals too. Decorating is fun but it’s the travel aspect that I’ve always loved. Having a destination and being able to ‘stay over’ is a very large part of my SL. I do get itchy feet, which is why rentals are a good option for me, but the flexibility of the Linden Homes gives me a lot of freedom. I can’t imagine how much money I’ve wasted on just shedding a parcel at a silly price in order to be able to move quickly over the years.- 56 replies

Bellisseria is a residential continent, so would be good for the 'Messenger Bag' deliveries. But the ideal hub for 'Belli' is SPACE!! (Unashamedly biased)

Unique Rental Suggestions...
Sister Nova replied to Cordelia Barrowstone's topic in General Discussion
I wasn’t aware that Becca got lost, but I know she does go very near the region border as shown in Rabid’s picture here. The picture also demonstrates how well she copes with the waterside. I see her walking by the dock but have never seen her fall in... I do hope that’s not a problem she encounters. -

Don't forget friendly little Becca there too! I always respond to her greeting -
I’m so very sad to hear this news, I always loved her work.

Landmarks work from RegionID which I’d say is probably more of an inherent factor rather than a region name which is more cosmetic. If you were to “login to region” you will go to the region with that name on the map on that day. If you were to do the same some time later when perhaps the region name is changed from the original and then reused on another region, you will go to the region you specify that has that name on that day, just the same as if you were to do a search on the map. Landmarks are different.
