  1. You need to right-click the item and select "menu", which allows you to buy using your credit. It worked for me .
  2. I got in this morning and claimed my Blueberry 500 credit, but it didn't offer inventory, just sent me a message saying the 500 had been added to my account. It was easy to miss that. I assume it will work.
  3. The only quality free mesh bodies right now that I know of are the free versions of the two EBody bodies, available at their inworld shop. The bodies are the same as the full-priced versions but with fewer features.
  4. You would be better off starting a separate thread about that (after reading some of the many existing threads about mesh bodies ). But yes, there are lots of mesh bodies on the market, and Bento bodies can be adjusted with your body shape settings. Here's something to get you started: http://meshbodyaddicts.com
  5. The Firestorm command-line has an "--autologin" switch, which logs in as the last saved user, and "--login myfirstname mylastname mypassword" which logs in as a named user. They only work if RLV is not enabled. And of course you can login manually using your saved credentials, just click the "Log in" button.
  6. Here is a jelly doll with an ARC of over 1.5 million, that I saw at a club a while back! I have my max complexity set to 300,000, so that any avatars over that will be rendered as jelly dolls, to avoid overloading my graphics system and causing massive lag or even damage from overheating. My own ARC rarely goes above 50k.

    Mesh Heads

You can find reviews of some popular heads at the Mesh Body Addicts website, and links to where to get demos. Since your face defines you and expresses your personality much more than your body, there is a much bigger variety available than there is with mesh bodies. The big dividing line is between Bento and non-Bento heads. Bento heads can have their shape adjusted and can be animated, while non-Bento heads are static and much cheaper. Bento is well worth the price difference in my opinion, as the face looks much more alive. After that, the expensive heads (up to 5000 L$) tend to have much more facilities built into the HUDs, like animations, skins, makeup, choice of teeth, eyes, etc., while the cheaper heads (500 L$ up) rely more on third-party additions and Omega appliers, which can work just as well. You wear a mesh head the same way as a mesh body, using a full-body alpha to hide your system head. You would usually wear mesh eyes (either bought separately or supplied with the head) but some heads allow you to keep your system eyes. Most mesh heads are Omega-compatible so you can apply third-party skins and makeup like on your body, but most also come with a good selection of makeup in the HUD.
  8. If you are buying a skin, you need to get both an applier skin compatible with your mesh body and an identical system skin to cover your head. If you are going for the Maitreya body, then the applier can be either a Maitreya applier or an Omega applier. To use an Omega applier you will also need to get the Omega Relay for Maitreya, and attach it to your screen before clicking the applier. Often the system skin and the applier are packaged together, but sometimes you have to buy them separately, making sure they are in fact the exact same skin tone from the same designer. Another option is to use one of the default skins supplied with your mesh body, and just buy a matching system skin for your head from the same designer who created the mesh body skin; for example the bundled Maitreya skins are made by Glam Affair, who I believe also make system skins.
  9. You might be better off buying a curvy body with big boobs, like Belleza Freya, Slink Hourglass, Tonic Curvy, or even a Sking. Then you might not need the Cherry Bombs and it would be much easier to find clothes designed for your body.
  10. The terminology is a bit confusing, but we are all given a permanent avatar when we sign up to SL. It consists of our shape, skin, and a few other components, and we are also given a set of clothes, hair and accessories, which we attach to the avatar to make us look decent in a style of our choosing. We can then customise it by adjusting its components (skin, shape, etc.), changing clothes, hair, etc., and later maybe attach mesh body parts like a mesh body (e.g. Maitreya), mesh hands and feet (e.g. Slink), a mesh head, etc., to make it look a lot better. So, what is labelled an "avatar" in the marketplace is usually just a set of components like skin, shape, and maybe a few clothes, with which to customise the avatar we already have. And then what is sometimes (and wrongly) called a "mesh avatar" is just a set of nicely-shaped body parts to cover all or most of our existing avatar bodies. With your Slink hands and feet, you have already acquired some mesh body parts. Now to cover the rest of your body, usually up to the neck, you can buy a mesh body. Other people here have already given links to the Mesh Body Addicts website, which is a great resource which has links to where you can get demos of most popular bodies. You mentioned Maitreya, which is certainly the leading choice, and that includes hands and feet so you won't need your Slink parts. The next most popular choices are the Belleza and Slink bodies. Slink bodies don't include the hands and feet that you already have, saving you a bit of money. Other popular bodies include Tonic, EBody, and Altamura (which usually includes a head). Mesh heads are usually a separate purchase which most people leave until after they have settled into their mesh bodies. Of course you should demo all the bodies that interest you, play with the HUDs, and decide which one suits you best. However, don't ignore the fact that the more popular a body is, the more choice you have for clothes designed to fit it with no adjustment. So, since you have a "wedge of L$" to spend , ignore the "avatar" packages on the marketplace and just concentrate on choosing a mesh body. It's what nearly all style-conscious people here do. And don't worry about appliers* (Omega and others) just yet; wait until you have your mesh body. *An applier is how you put a third-party skin, tattoo, makeup, or painted-on clothes like underwear, onto a mesh body. Omega appliers work with nearly all mesh bodies.

    Oh that's fine then...

Alwin, what did you mean by "f/o"?
  13. It may be a bit off topic, but imagine the possibilities if poor lonely Jeogeot was moved over to the blank space south-east of Satori? They fit together very nicely. I'm sure economics would rule out the ocean between the two being made sailable, but if they were connected at both ends and the coastline was sailable it would be a very nice marriage for little cost. Just dreaming, that's all.
  14. That's a really nice elegant look, well done! There was somebody looking for a shirt just like not too long ago; can you tell us something about it?
  15. There are lots of quality Omega-friendly Bento heads available for a lot cheaper than Catwa. You could start by going to Akeruka, joining their group for 150 L$, and getting the Maia head for free. I haven't really used it yet but it seems to be good. In my profile picture here I'm wearing the Normie head by Utilizator, for 500 L$. I'm sure other people here will have other ideas too.
  16. The title text which seems to say "on the Implimentation (sic) of Numerous ET Languages on Earth by the Negative ETs to Divide and Separate Earth Humanity" certainly raised my eyebrows but I started it anyway, and sure enough, just a few seconds in he tells us that the entire world used to speak Tamil, which is just rubbish. I stopped there. Anyway, I hope that is not what you are calling "the truth". If it is a genuine language and culture course, then best of luck with it.
  17. Oh thanks Phil, that's new to me!
  18. Where in Firestorm? Surely LSL is a server-side language, compiled and executed on the server, independent of any viewer?
  19. Each head model has its own style and reacts to shape settings in its own way, so you can't expect it to look reasonable with a shape designed for a different head. The best you can usually do is pick a head that comes close to your look and play with the shape sliders until it looks right. I have a few heads that I wear and all have been adjusted to look much the same, but they only look right when worn with their own custom shape.
  20. "How are you?" from somebody I don't know, in fact almost anybody. It's just lazy, shifting the burden onto me to get the chat going when I never asked to chat with them in the first place. Any anyway do they really want to know all the details of my diarrhoea and chemotherapy*? * Joking of course
  21. Hmm. I have 2GB on my card but 16 in my computer. I'm using Firestorm.
  22. I fixed it by putting my "viewer texture memory buffer" (in Preferences > Graphics > Hardware settings) to the maximum.
  23. Unfortunately that is always a problem even when the parts fit perfectly together and the skin on both parts is identical. Other people have explained the technical issues better than I can, but it's to do with how the mesh on each part reflects the light at certain angles. I even have an Altamura full-body (body and head in one unit) with the same problem . The usual advice given is to wear a choker to cover the seam, but I personally don't go for chokers and just let my hair cover most of it.
