I thought this was possible to do?? But can't find any option to change the L$ threshold (or the amount needed for it to play the sound?) I'm using the regular viewer. If anyone can help me figure this out I'd greatly appreciate it

@Kyrah Abattoir That'd be a new one for me. I've had a number of laptops, one died from some virus, didn't have the money to fix that. My second one I had before this one worked great, but some guy destroyed it in drunken rage. I shall remember and be mindful though thanks!

I cannot login to SL, I'm running the regular viewer on a newer laptop I got recently. I never had this problem before. The message I see when I try logging in is "Login failed. Unable to connect to a simulator." Is this happening to anyone else right now? How can I fix this?

@Kyrah Abattoir For me, yes. For the majority of my gaming life, I've always used a laptop. I find laptops to be better, so I can move around when I need to. To me a desktop would be a pain to travel with.

So, back in 2016 my moms stupid bf destroyed my good laptop. Since then I've been playing SL on a refurbished slow Probook (on a 3rd party viewer). Now that my bday is coming up, my mom decided she'd help me get a new laptop. There are a few I've been looking at. One of thems a Levono Y520, it would have an Intel core i7, and an Nvidia Graphics card (GTX 1050 Ti). I'm wondering, how well would that run SL? I'd like to be able to run the regular SL viewer again, hopefully on fast settings and actually be able to see objects and the terrain clearly. What do you guys think?

I say "yay!". Because honestly, if you have nothing better to do, then why not? When I'm not working I love coming onto SL. When I first found SL I was looking for some fishing places, then came across a LE Fennux, it was reasonably priced and I thought it was adorable, so I had to get it (it was already petted too, so it didn't need food at least.) That account is long gone, so unfortunately I don't have that Fennux anymore. However during my adventures I've collected new ones and began breeding them. It can be quite fun and they are still worth quite a bit depending on traits. One of mine sold for 400L at an auction. If you work hard at breeding them, you can end up making good profit, but it's better to breed them for fun mostly. The only costly thing to worry about is land and food costs.

Okay, so it's been a while since I've been able to play SL (good laptop was destroyed by some jerk back in 2016) and now I'm on a refurbished one that runs somewhat okay, so I've been trying to get back into my old routine on SL. I am looking for some land, cheap enough per week that allows commercial use. I was looking at some Bella Pointe lands for a while, I love how those look, however they are unfortunately not for commercial use. I'd like to find something like that. Something with enough space and enough prims for the right price, that will allow me to have my breedables and little shop on there. Something that has a pretty landscape. Looking for something in the 500L$ to below range. (For a 500L$ week rental it'd have to have 500 prims.) If anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction for some land like that, I'd really appreciate it.

I have a friend who has an older laptop, running windows XP, it's a Compaq Presario R3000. I've tried the normal SL viewer as well as some 3rd party viewers, most of the viewers will not start up at all on that laptop, one of the older SL viewers did start, however the connection is terribly laggy. We cannot get that laptop upgraded, so I was wondering... Does anyone know what viewer would be able to work good enough for that laptop? One that hopefully doesn't lag whenever the avatar walks around lol Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Are positions still open? I have some experience as a hostess/dancer, but I'm on a pretty bad laptop at the moment.

Here's the error, but yea, that seems like it is what you said. I never upgraded or downgraded anything on this laptop though, this was how I got it from the guy who refurbished it at the repair shop.

Catznip wouldn't even work on my laptop. I tried it before I'd made this post, and all that comes up on my laptop is an error message, unfortunately. Firestorm and Singularity were my favorites on the laptop I had, before it got destroyed and I had to settle with this thing.

Are you still looking for someone to make a video? I could do it, however I don't have the best graphics settings and am on a lighter viewer for SL at the moment until I can get a new laptop.

It's been a while, but I've decided to come back to it. I had a job as a dancer/hostess in the past, so I have some experience there. Yes I'm a girl. I'm not sure what kind of job I'd be looking for now, being a dancer was fun, but I'd also like to try other things..so if you're hiring and you're fine with me running around as a cat then feel free to let me know what kind of job it is, and what the pay rate is. I'm pretty much open to almost anything! Just not a DJing job, since..I don't know how to do that lol The only thing I'd ask, is that the location of the job must be in a fairly lag free environment. I'm on a bad laptop and am using the VL viewer until I can afford to get a new laptop. I also won't do any adult activities, I may be an adult, but I am not into that sort of stuff. I can't really do voice chat, I can try though.

Just tried Radegast a while ago...where's the virtual world? All I saw was a chat box, then I clicked on the 3D view button and it crashed lol

It was decent at first, but many issues popped up with it and I've tried contacting the guy I bought it from and he never answers back lol Audio issues, and now I can't even edit or render videos on movie maker without the laptop completely shutting off. The repair guy said he'd upgraded it when he refurbished it. It has Windows 10 pro edition, 64bit operating system, 4GB of ram. It can run MC decently and I've been able to play WoW quite well on it. I don't know how to add upgrades in myself..not a very tech savvy girl. Although I tried to fix my old laptop, didn't work though I'm actually on the Cool VL viewer right now lol it works pretty good! The layouts a bit weird, but at least it isn't as laggy as Singularity is. Still on the hunt to find a less laggier viewer until I get a new laptop.

Hello all, hopefully I'm posting this in the right spot. I used to use the Firestorm viewer and the Singularity viewer on my good laptop, however, last year in July my laptop was destroyed. Since then I'm stuck on a crappy refurbished laptop I had to buy from the repair place. I've tried all viewers I know of. The main viewer, Firestorm and Singularity. Only one version of Singularity works, sort of. Everything is still really laggy, I have every setting all the way down. The laptop I'm on right now is an HP Probook 6550b. Can anyone tell me if there is a viewer that would work better for this kind of laptop? Is there a way to make the settings any lower? I'd love to be able to play SL again like I used to. I won't be able to get a new laptop until later this year. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

As the title says...I was able to buy items from the marketplace the other night, but today I can't seem to o.O When I try it just says "We were unable to make changes to the current invoice." and when I go back to the previous page it says "There was a problem charging your payment method." I have lindens so..I know that's not the issue. But why am I unable to buy anything? It's odd.

I had a place there once..very nice, but it didn't have the prims I needed for the price I could afford unfortunatley. Might go there again in the future though.

Hiya! Basically I'm looking for a place to rent, where I can put my breedables at, and possibly make a small shop. I don't need anything massive, something with just enough prims mainly so I can have my breedables on it...I'm looking for something cheap, or reasonable. Like at one time I had a place that was around 351 prims for 351 L$. I can't find the place anymore though, so, if anyone has a place or knows of a place like that, please let me know. Doesn't have to have the exact amount of prims, just something around that. Something that allows breedables. :)
