In our RL bar we still have special nights for line dancing now and then --- and we're more of a classic rock type bar. Last few times the instructor had to tell the dancers to put their phones down as a few taking selfies were not paying attention and tripping others like dominoes.

Although SL is best on the computer, for those who can't as you mentioned, the Lab should put it's resources on a decent mobile client instead of Sansar. They could make a client optimized for tablets since those are cheap nowadays and good for someone who needs to rest in bed a lot due to ailments. I don't want to see that replace the computer version of the virtual world.

I was doing the same with my former club. I ran the place more for fun, not to make a killing and did this for a few years. I recently turned it over to a friend because it was no longer fun for me and RL stuff is taking more of my time. They should maybe exempt postings for the live performers and maybe DJ events and charge for the others. I know the one club my man DJs at only has DJs for one shift six nights a week and the owner is not a premie, so she'll be putting out at least 300L per week.

I found out from a Linden staff person who used to come into our former RL night club when we lived in the San Francisco area. He and my man was talking about computer stuff and he mentioned "I work for this neat company that does a virtual world thing, you guys should check it out." And the rest is history.

There are some live performers that require you to post to events for their shows. The event listing did need a re-do, but they should charge the lower amount no matter if you're a premie or not.

Some live performers do play into SL using a live feed from Youtube or one of the other services.

Days of the computer is long from being over. Nowadays you can move information between the computer and the smart phone using the sync thing. As for Sansar, tried it and moved on.

I'd be concerned if SL became an app only thing. I actually hit a website other day saying "We've gone mobile only" with the IOS and Android icons on the screen.

Recently a train game my man use to play on the desktop went to a mobile only. He was bummed and can no longer play it.

I got a PM from a friend who works at the Labs, was told the cleaning lady needed to unplug the server controller to use her vacuum. 🤣

I agree. SL is meant for the bigger screen, not the tiny ones on a phone. Heck, I don't even own a smart phone --- just a flip one. But the funny thing is when my man DJs from our bar into a SL club, he'll mention that and we'll see a few patrons pull up their mobiles looking for the app. He then says "You play this on the big computers, not the phone."

Me too, to me Patch didn't really clear the confusion or we're not reading it right.

I think when Patch mentioned that, all the details weren't worked out yet.

I also noticed they'll have it set up for reoccurring events --- wonder if one fee will cover that or a charge for each event? I do see the events currently getting abused, sometimes people using alts to flood the thing, especially for non music stuff.

The driver could be Chuck Norris! Saw the thing for the event listing fees too. I do know some club owners will have a cow to pay 50L for DJ events, could add up. Many are not premies.

Wonder if part of this is a publicity stunt --- since one location is remaining open.
