  1. I’ve heard that Second Life is developing a mobile version of the platform. Here are some features that would be good for Android; I’m not sure about iPhone. Here they go: suggestions and wishlist features For Android phones ( XIAOMI, SAMSUNG and similar android GPU ) Contents Graphic setting Menu * Recommended settings architecture for phones in 2024 - and beyond * ( this i think include with latest IPHONE) ultra Low ( settings low end mobile like Huawei 3rd gen and lower) Low Medium High ( phone like Xiaomi, Samsung and other high end android phones) * Taking on snapdragon CPU loading speed ( any snapdragon 2022-2024 Model) I believe the LL mobile team could manage this by creating a texture compression feature that allows mobile users to load textures quickly. If users manually activate the ‘Texture Compression’ feature, it would enable phones that can’t handle streamlined textures to periodically compress all assets in the Android cache. Essentially, this would allow textures that have already been downloaded to load automatically upon logging in. * interface features Wishlist - Voice features - Landmark menu - Outfit menu - Shape customizing - Compatible with Mesh/BOM features I.e. ( lelutka , catwa heads and other mesh body) - Streaming features/ Virtual DJ/Singers that can input their stream with a dialog box - LSL scripting features ( similiar to pcs) - Build mode compact version - Mesh upload ( android and iphone have their own Collada object editor using touch screen) - Gesture sound upload ( Similiar to pc version) Advance setting (Wishlist) High res snapshot for photos Wind light features ( Similar to viewers , static and not automatic this way it avoid battery drain) Streamline Reset Mesh Lod and other texture glitch not loading ( manually click on screen touch) Distance view setting limit 400 ft ( normal android phones can't support that high distance view yet, other high end games have this problem) Mini map Search function ( organized search) Block And mute ( A must ) Technical Wishlist Port forwarding connections ( sometimes useful on streaming podcast i.e. shoutcast , ice - cast some country require port forwarding to avoid slow) All the basic task i think they already got it down is just few things they could add along the way on mobile version. I think that’s pretty much it. Second Life Mobile would be great for relaxing in bed or if you have an extra account and want to save bandwidth on your PC, avoiding the GPU working hard to load multiple viewers. Please do launch the beta version; I can’t wait to see what Linden Labs will do with their own custom mobile version 9/4/2024 Feedback

  4. Second life and you; This will get you started easily, since probably there isn't any thread like this i started second life since 2009, and still learning.. i didn't know the forum exist back then so now i might just use this and share to new players maybe this little guide will help your journey, the get know second life. 1) knowing what viewers are... Second life have 3rd party viewers, but I'd recommend "new residents" use the stock viewer made by Linden labs, the reason why i say this.. the stock viewer will give you what you need to know i.e. (exploring, basic buildings and all that good stuff), the building part is still the same like any 3rd party viewer out there but i would say to new players experience the stock viewer first this will make you appreciate how LL dev teams goes along away to make one that's friendly for new beginning residents. 3rd party recommended viewers to use after you know you way around on stock viewer. Firestorm ( Everyday use) Black dragon ( for photography, it can be use on normal but i would use this for photos) 2) learning how to put a better profile About me and other cool stuff you put in your profile, most of new residents i see often had blank. please take your time to introduce your self to all of us... Uploading picture cost 10$L . 3) go take virtual classes i.e ( scripting, building and other lesson) Second life have wonderful classes you can take after you get used being around with people in second life usually a good time to take classes in SL is after 30 days. if you do this , this will get you advantage on being hired doing commission or more. 4) Enjoy our time exploring.. literally explore everything in SL Every second lifer have their hobby in real life somehow related to their SL lifestyle for example second life have card collecting hobby its pretty fun to do small little things to fill the time.
