Hello, I'm posting regarding the latest changes to the Skilled Gaming Policy, more specifically, the tag for the requirements for addons: 2) include “[slgaming- unapproved]” as a prefix in the root object name field; Now, in this policy it also states: Is there a list of approved add-ons?
Because add-ons do not require express approval, Linden Lab will not maintain a list.Forgive me, but, this seems....unnecessary and confusing to the players. I showed this to several of my players and was told it seemed "fishy" and could be considered "untrustworthy" to those new to Second Life and/or Skilled Gaming. Linden Labs, why would you have us put this if you're not going to require approval for addons? Winx, Wink SK, required approval and those are addons? I'm just going to say this, why mess with something that was working fine the way it was? There is a classic saying, "If it isn't broke, don't fix it" and this will seriously make things more difficult than it has to be. There may be a reason that we're not being told, but understand where the Skilled Gaming Operators and Profit Split Partners like myself are coming from. Someone is bound to ask questions, and if they do, we'll point them to the Policy. But not everyone will ask questions. Instead, their first instinct will be to report abuse or, just stop playing altogether.... If you don't plan on making a list of approved addons, don't make us look suspicious by forcing SLSGOs to write "unapproved" on the addons. Simple. - Lance P.S. What exactly does Linden Labs consider an "addon"? Slidedown/300 Games contests? Replays?
