  1. My favorite LH right now I would have to say is the traditional.  And I give extra points when I get one in a region that was part of the first release.   Those regions just seem to have a homey feel to them.  Maybe because they were the first ones?  I always seem to come back to traditionals.

I love all the landscaping they did for the Victorians and that is my favorite in regards to landscaping.

I do like all the themes though, some just work for me better than others.

Right when I thought the appeal of the chalets had eluded me, my alt that is set to expire tomorrow, landed in Berghochzeit. This is my sunrise mountain view of the community center and boat rez zone across the way. Tulips have always been my favorite flower.

I got one in this region too!

Caught this lovely abandon a few days ago. No water in sight but lovely landscaping and a good degree of privacy. I have just started decorating the garden. I've not had time to do inside yet but it's feeling like a keeper.710588360_ChaletMountainside.thumb.png.22a607ca1713bc592027292797f606cc.png

That place looks great.  Nice location.

Probably the best time to get a choice Chalet will be 4-6 months after they're new, when they go back and do fill ins. Half the neighbors of the plot I got are new here, and half have been around for months. I guess a lot of people are also giving up some really nice Log Homes for a chance at a Chalet. But the best Chalets aren't even out yet (IMO).

I agree.  Some of the best parcels I get are ones that I get months and months after the theme is released.  I still find the best spots I get are ones that are abandoned.

I always go back to the Williamsburg camper it is the only style of linden home I absolutely love to decorate and build for. I had to cut back recently so now I have my 512 LH, 512 mainland - building in the sandboxes etc all under one subscription which has always worked best for me despite my trying all kinds of estate parcels and alts. Who built the Williamsburg? Did I say I love it?!

I have to say that my favorite right now is the traditionals, especially if you get a good one in the regions that were first released.  Now that I have a water parcel on mainland I don't need a houseboat.  I like the stilt houses, but I have issues with the landscaping and the draw distance and I just can't get into them.   I am awaiting on the chalets :D .

WHY?  I have to ask this because why would someone name their Linden Home    Linden Home    and have people think it is still available and waste their rolls trying to get it?

Actually, I have had this happen by accident.    I claimed a house and even had a name already picked for it.  When I got to the parcel it was still named Linden Home.  And I have had it happen a few more times since then.  Maybe that is what happened here?

I'm pretty much 100% sure that the moment I make a choice, regardless of which, I will regret it... but it's pretty stupid of me that I've held on to both for so long...

Could be you are just not ready to let one of them go and if you like them that much, you should keep them.  And yes, that is I guess me being a bad influence cause I still have 2 homes.  A trad & vic and I have no intentions of getting rid of either of them.  At least not yet.

I don't think you are stupid at all.

Also, does anyone else often find themselves struggling with draw distance in the stilt regions because the flat landscape leads to tons of broken builds far off but still in view? My last one was absolutely terrible for that, I had to put it up ridiculously higher than anyone would want in order to stop seeing broken bits in the distance. This one though? I'm actually able go pull it low down to 56 and while I can still see my nearest neighbors everything in the distance goes away without bits and pieces left over. And the bonus is an even clearer sunrise view and a wicked good FPS when at home!

Yes, I do struggle with that.  I don't like to have my draw distance up high anyways and I do find with the stilts it is harder to find a place where you can make the DD and the landscaping and houses make sense.  But I do use FS so I can derender stuff as well if I have to.  But yes,  I feel your pain!

Sorry to leave -- I had a retiring alt there but mainly the stilt home areas did not grow on me :)

I find them to be a little too open and sandy for me.    Doesn't mean they aren't nice, just not for me.  I think it is great that there is now two options for water living, houseboats and now stilts.  And on top of that there is even an option to have the stilts on land.  Big plus in my opinion.

  11. I went and checked out number 6.  That is the houseboat I got when that region was first released.  And it was by accident as I was trying for a house.  But I loved that spot so much I kept it for a long time , that parcel made me appreciate how great houseboats could be.  Also made me realize how much I loved the underwater gardens.  And yes, it made me buy mainland with water so that I could even have a bigger water garden.

It's purely personal preference. I once landed an amazing traditional. I knew it was a very lucky grab. It was everything nearly everyone would want, but it did not offer me privacy. Thus, I let it go. I keep what feels like home to me.

That is how I feel too.  I have to feel the parcel.  If that makes any sense.  When it comes to houseboats I always tried to find one where I could have an underground garden (deeper water), open water view and the long parcels.  I also go with whatever parcel works best on my computer too.   Also sometimes it did help if I decorated both parcels the same way and went with the one that looked and felt the best.

Also when the stilts are released, you will have even more houseboats to choose from!  Welcome to the GOH Lloyd.  You will never be the same again. 🤣

I like that it’s kind of scarce. They don’t want hundreds of vacant homes. People will redistribute to new themes and free up existing ones. I don’t know what LLs plans are, but hopefully it’s not Clone stamping out existing regions

I also think once all the themes are released people will settle into only one, maybe even two themes that they like.  At least this is how it will probably work for me.

I’m gonna be honest. I’ve been wrong so many times that I’m gonna say I’m feeling only 60% good today about Stilts and see what happens LOL

I say come in saying you feel like sh*& about it and work your way up! 😀

So you're the one who just had it! I landed this before on another alt. Since I've got another houseboat with a sunset and lighthouse view, I decided I didn't need two. I'll be releasing this at 3:30 p.m. SLT. It's a great location for sunset and lighthouse lovers.

It was a nice spot.  I had fun doing the garden there for the time I had it.  I did get a plot on mainland that is water and it is quite deep in some parts so I can have a bigger garden there.   I don't really need a houseboat anymore.  I am mostly just trying for the trads now.  I will try the stilts, but I am more excited for the chalets.
