  1. Thanks to both. I have gone back to the default viewer for now.
  2. In answer to the original question: as a beginner I downloaded a female avatar - somehow. I decided to put it on to see if it would work. I did indeed become a girl in a mini-skirt. I am not interested in sexual activity, but I want to present myself as the gender I am. I have difficulty relating to an avatar with the female AO that moves seductively by default. What is the difference between having multiple avatars, i.e. multiple identities, and just buying a new avatar and putting it on? I am assuming that there is no limit to the latter. Trying to be in two places at once sounds impractical.

  4. Tried the new Bento-enabled viewer on Linux 64. Many avatars were one color throughout, red, green, purple. Haven't tried it on Windows. Is this a bug?Is there a more appropriate forum>
  5. It won't work for me either, under Linux (Mageia 5) or Windows. Under Linux, the automatic download failed. The separate download keeps complaining that there is no plugin for HTML. Under Windows, it won't unpack. Mumbles something in the Windows terminal about DLLs and other files being read-only. At least it hasn't removed the working version, unlike Linux.
  6. I am 70+ and I don't want to act like 20-y-o. I belong to the "X" generation, my wife tells me, born during the War, before dating followed sex, instead of the other way around, before we had the Hippies and "free love." My wife is still angry at the 30-y-o who was trying to chat up the teenage shop girl and referred to my wife as the granny. I don't want to be like him. I would be far happier being with my own age group, sharing the same values. My kind of person is a misfit in SL. But on the other hand I saw in Market place an avatar or outfit for a man of at least 50, with a beard, a hat and a waistcoat.
