Absolutely never too early to start writing it down.

It's not just letting the children know how we lived, and what we did. It's for the grandchildren, and beyond, too.

When I was a boy, only one person in the community had a TV, and I was forced to watch the king's funeral and the queen's coronation on it, along with a room full of neighbours. Bored silly lol. My father had died, so I got a free set of clothes and boots every year. That's part of how I lived that my children would never have imagined and, imo, it's interesting for them. It's the sort of thing I would like to know about my parents.

It's brilliant that your father is writing it all down for you :D

It is never too EARLY.  My partner of 5 years died when we were both in our early 30s. I wish i had more from him now, 30 years on. Even though life went on and has been good, I still miss him. I'm glad I have some of his writing, but I wish he'd written down more of his life experiences... I am lucky I have a letter from him b/c we had to be apart for a couple months once (we phoned each other every day)... i treasure that ONE letter.  It was before email. Maybe the letter would not exist. Maybe we'd have had many emails?

Anyway...  don't think you're too young to die.  Especially if you have children, leave them something of you.  Write about your life. Write to them.

Write to your partner, if you have one. It will mean a lot.

Quick digression here, but, imo, it's important for those of us who are in later life. Write your life story, with details of how it was back then for you. When you're gone, nobody can ask you about it.

I learned that after my mother died, and I suddenly wanted to know how her father being killed in a mining disaster affected her, but it was too late to ask, and there was nobody else from that generation to ask.

I've done it at the request of a daughter, and I add to it as I remember interesting bits. I'm not planning on leaving yet for a while, but it's all there for when I do :)

    Agreed!!

I started interviewing my mum a few years ago. I got some great stories recorded (video).  Wish i had gotten thru all my questions.  She's still alive, but she's remembering less and less detail of the old stories... it's fading.  sighs.

We all should write our stories.  Even though some family (stupidly, in my opinion) destroy letters and diaries after people die 'to prevent embarrassment' it is short sighted in my opinion.  Those are actually historical documents, at the very least for families, sometimes, they are actually useful about a time period after enough time passes - even beyond the family.  No matter how embarrassing, in the future when someone's long dead, they will often be interesting insights.

  3. I'm over 60.  Mum was 88 her last birthday (she's less active now, but she loves SL, especially the picturesque sims).

I've had quite a few friends in their seventies... including upper 70s and many (most of my closest) friends in SL are 50s or 60s - so that's a lot of us.  Other than people I've helped with learning SL, few of my friends are younger than their 40s.

One of the people who taught me the most about SL in my early days was in her seventies.  When she died (COVID) SL lost a huge resource and a lot of us lost a very good friend.  She helped a lot of newcomers.  She'd worked in the computer industry back when computers were much bigger and much less powerful and she was very computer savvy and extremely knowledgeable about doing and making things in second life.  I got the feeling she understood how the technical underbelly of SL worked better than most.

Some older folks I know in SL  are intimidated by the learning curve, but others are very comfortable.  In other words, they're just like everyone else.

Very well said Scylla, thank you for your explanation of the situation.  And just to clear the air I don't avoid everyone who may be an Alt.  It was just a basic question that I had in which some people read way more into it than what my reason was for asking it :).

Thank you to everyone for your responses.

sorry if i was one of those jumpers on!

  5. I've alts for various purposes and some of them have friends. NONE of them is used for sex b/c I didn't come to SL for that.

I have a couple accounts that I use often - one is male and I use him for trying out clothing i make.  The other is named for the store I am trying to create and will probably serve as the primary account for that business when it is up and running so my main account can exist in the world and have a somewhat normal existence.  I have spent a fair amount on those avatars and they are as 'real' as this one -- and the friends they have (some of which overlap with this one) reflect that.

My other test alts are more 'alt like' and mostly from freebie stuff and I think are more likely to be perceived as alts.  But... if you assume that everyone with 'no payment on file' is a bad guy... you'll miss lots of good people.

I know people with businesses whose main avatar is used for the business... and the alt they use most of the time for social interaction is 'no payment on file' b/c why bother putting their credit card on more than one account?

I haven't tried it, but I know there's ways to split payments in vendors (if you have a store) so that some money earns goes to one avatar and the rest goes to a different one - so it's possible that the 'no payment' alt you're discriminating against has:

    a) plenty of money

    b) serves as the primary account for interacting with others and is therefore the 'real' person.

One of my closest friends created an account many years ago to be a non human avatar and that is their 'default' avatar and has money (and I think the old 500L stipend).  They now mostly appear as 'human' but their default avatar is the only one (to my knowledge) that they use to buy money.

I don't really want to be policed because someone is trying to figure out if their partner's a cheat.

I hope people are NOT discriminating against me because I happen to be wearing a no payment alt. I met some of my best friends while wearing an alt, and later also added them to this account.

Frankly, there's almost an infinite number of ways to cheat in the real world and here.  If you don't trust your partner implicitly and trust matters to you (it matters to me) then you need to ditch them.  Behaviour is a better measure of whether you can trust them.  If you 'feel' they're cheating because they inexplicably vanish or become unavailable, then it's likely

    (a) you are a bit paranoid

    (b) they're cheating and/or keeping some other secret

    (c) both (a) and (b) are true.

Not all secrets mean someone is cheating. I know people who cross dress or live the trans life they really want to live (the two are not necessarily the same) in SL b/c real life doesn't allow them to do it and they find it freeing to be able to explore that part of themselves.  They don't feel safe to tell anyone else but their other cross dressing friends that they're cross dressers or consider themselves trans.  Since there are states in the US and countries all over the planet where cross-dressing, being gay, trans and other ways people can be 'different' can get you fired or beat up or put in jail or even get you killed... Secrets are the only way some people can be themselves.  Second Life can be a huge gift.

If your partner doesn't trust you enough with their full reality, perhaps you don't belong together.

I recommend talking to your partner.  See if you are on the same page about life.  It is UNLIKELY that any adult will want to be monitored every moment of every day.

The existence of alts doesn't mean a thing in and of itself.

Nope, my alts don't show 'payment info used' but I give some of them a significant portion of my money. I think the fact that some of them have been around almost as long as this (my original avatar) has been and I've put effort into making them look good means people tend to treat them as though they're 'real girls/boy'.

I am pro sex and sexuality as a person, but I have ZERO interest in SL pixel sex and no interest in *****wear. I suspect there's people who think I dress more like a nun than a *****.  I don't care what they do.  What I do is not their business.  I don't want to look like or be a hooker or someone's pixel hook up.

    But... LIVE and let live.

Frankly, the existence of that sexual culture (which is in my opinion is often juvenile and sometimes pretty unhealthy) helps keep the coffers of SL full.  It allows a lot of people who have zero interest in pixel jumping anyone to mingle, dance, visit beautiful places, create a whole universe of fabulous stuff and have very full lives and experiences here.  THAT is why all my friends are in SL.  I have many.  MOST of them have little interest in SL sex, though I suspect many of them have tried it at least once.

If some people want to do something I think of as moronic (but which on the whole is a lot less dangerous than real life bone jumping of random strangers) then more power to them.

I will not judge (for example) the people in sexless marriages who preserve their family unity by finding a release here with another person.  It may not be for me, but loneliness kills people and if they connect here who am I to judge them?

I hope people will not make assumptions.  Meet people.  Talk to people.  Look at their profile but also recognize that a profile is something CREATED.  It can reflect who someone is or who someone wants to be perceived to be.  Most of the time, it's a bit of both.

If the person hasn't bothered to put a profile picture up, THEN i would suspect that alt of being 'disposable' - but frankly, i take people as they treat me.  More than once I've met friends who have said (after talking for a bit) 'I'm an alt' - here's the real me - please friend that person.

I tend to come in world with alts sometimes to do things (mostly visit interesting sims) or make/build things -- when I want to be left alone. SL is a social place, but sometimes I wish I could be out in the woods or lying on a beach but real life doesn't allow it... and no, I don't always want to hang out with people. Occasionally I will make a friend - and I will direct them to my real avatar if I like them enough.

    Alts and money:

I've never requested money in any form... but I've given money to newbies or those i perceive as newbies (some of whom have told me they were returning newbies who joined and left or joined and never 'took' the first time), and had people give me money when I was new and did not have two pennies to rub together.  That kindness was part of what cemented my desire to be in SL.  I have never given money to ANY stranger who ASKED for it and likely never will.

There are a lot of GOOD reasons for people NOT to have payment on file.  I did not for the first few months b/c i had no money to spend on a 'mere game' and then for several months after that b/c of a glitch in SL processing my payment method... It took a while to sort it.

Not everyone has money.  There are people in SL for whom this place is a lifeline but who are disabled or otherwise unable to put money into the game.  I know people who've been given computers by family but have little or no disposable income.

Please don't judge people by the money they don't have.

  6. the advantage of this place is that I can find it.  No idea how I would find the google document... or someone not following this would.  Not to say it's a bad idea to compile a list... just... this thread should point to it at the very least or no one will know it exists.

  7. well, i have a friend's list and I have friends.  The friend's list is people I've interacted with in a positive way.

Friends are people I have a reciprocal, ongoing, nurtured and active relationship with.  RECIPROCITY matters.

I'd say that I have maybe 5 or 6 close friends in SL (and that's fine. I don't think I have the energy to give a lot more than that real friendship.  I've met some of these people in person).  I have a lot of people I'm friendly with, some of whom I see fairly often (maybe 30?)  The rest are people I meet in passing and enjoy running into.  I don't think they consider me close friends and I do not consider them close friends... but it's nice to see them when I do.  No idea exactly how many of them there are, but it's a much larger number than the other two groups.  If I can help them when they need it, I do, and many of them have helped me in various ways over the time I've been in SL.  They all make my Second Life colourful and lively.  Occasionally, some of them drop off the list, while others become much closer.  I'm always meeting new people and that is fun even if they don't end up on my friend's list.

It's a lot like my real life, actually.  I know thousands of people. There have been times in my life when I routinely met several hundred new people every year. Most I barely remember meeting. I do have a few dozen people I know relatively well, and a handful that i consider close.

I tend to avoid people I meet who are hostile, self-seeking, hurt others for sport, are overly ambitious (those who like to use others to get ahead) and those who are always negative, particularly those who want to talk about how miserable they are all the time and especially those who blame others for their miseries.   (this is different from people who are grieving or struggling with something, I'm talking about whiners and complainers who find a black cloud in every silver lining and think 'the world' or 'men' or 'women' or 'white people' or 'black people' or 'the government' or 'liberals' or 'conservatives' etc. are "out to get them".  Of course there's bad stuff in the world as well as bad people, but mostly, life is what WE CHOOSE to make it. Yes, even when stuff happens that we have no control over.

Hint: we have control over NOTHING except our attitude and outlook.

So... friends... are people I can help.  People who help me.  People are fun to be around.  People who try to build me (and others around them up) People who share their expertise.  People who share their creativity and create joy with it. In second life, people who have helped me have often become good friends b/c the learning curve is high and I  have needed help... and I have also learned to pass that on to others.  You learn a lot about a person when you see that they're willing to give time an energy to help others.  Even when I haven't needed help, I've become friends with people who have volunteered to help others in second life or to run activities that make SL more fun.   I find these people are a pleasure to be around.

Life is too short to stick around unkind people who only take and never give. Life is too short to only take and never give - it's not much fun to just take or to be unkind, and it doesn't attract good people into your life.  It feels really good to make other people happy.  And people you make happy want to be around you.  Funny thing that.😎

  8. I probably don't care about nipples b/c I've never been interested in being naked in SL.  My nails work just fine and my face lines up correctly.

You're right, there should be an infinite set of combinations and pixel perfection is possible Gigglesnort.

And SL will reach the uncanny valley sometime in the next 20 years.  (and I've got a big bridge to sell and ocean front property in Arizona)

I've decided I don't give a fig and I will update my skin the next time the textures get so close to human everyone thinks I'm a Ruth.  In the mean time, I'mma do my life and muddle thru with just the one (apparently inadequate) piece.  Thanks for explaining the reasons. I now have a bit more understanding of the minutia and I've decided I still don't want to mess with it, but to each his/her/their own. I look around at all the bodies with non-possible non-human proportions (I'm talking the accidental ones, not the intentional ones) and all the faces that look like clones and I am happy with my me.

I will not complain again OR go skin hunting anymore.  I'm a bit frustrated with the complexification, but a lot clearer on the 'reasons' and moving on now.

When the tech requires it, I will take the next level, until then, I'm gonna go write stories and make clothing.

    'preciate the perspective, however.  Seriously.

  9. I currently use a system skin.  I recoloured the fingertips with the freebie fingertip colour fixes.  There's very little difference between my head and my body (neck join issue) and the colour is the same. I don't see a major need for two different skins (body/head)  I've been doing this since bom happened. i just went back to system skin and contrary to popular belief there are some lovely ones out there.  I run only in ultra with materials turned on... so I see all the detail.  Thing is, there are better textures out there now and I'd like to avail myself of them. I know that there's a few people who have made 'full bom' skins and they work fine. I have a few of those as well. . Therefore, i know it doesn't require a rocket science crazy making multi layers of imperfection application.  When I see an all in one, I grab it.  Sadly, it seems to be getting harder and harder. I wish there were more

I don't buy multipart skin.  I hated applier skin.  I have no need to go back to that mess. (I would like to get rid of the fingertip layers too)

Every year I get 3-4 new fantasy skins from Fallen Gods.  They are all in one BOM.  They work well.  They look amazing. For some reason, they don't seem to need six million versions to fit lots of different heads and bodies, even though people wear them.

I wish more non-fantasy skin were available in this 'dirt simple' functionality

The only exception seems to be the evox - and it seems all in one skin can simply be made that fits that or use the little button to disable that if you have skin you already use and like. i CAN see the utility of making a skin aimed at a particular head, but very little for special bodies if one is looking for a remotely normal body look.  TBH, there are so many bodies out there that most skin makers only make 3-6 body types and there's many, many more bodies out there.  Truthfully, there's more heads out there than makers making head skin for them too.

I wonder if makers/customers are doing BOM 'applier' layers because they got into the habit of splitting themselves into bits.  There's no longer any special code that means different tattoo layers won't fit on all bodies. HUDS had compatibility issues that tattoos don't have.  Most well made skin looks decent on most faces.  Yes, some look better on some heads than on others and that will always be the case even if your skin is 'purpose built' for your head, it may not look like you want to look.  So choose the one that you like best... I don't want a package with 15 bits to choose from, or to be 'restricted' to buying 'one combo' that will then not work if i get a new head or body. Once you've separated things into layers, you will start to have compatibility/matching issues as you change heads and or bodies because every tattoo will end or be finished differently from every 'body skin'.

Maybe one day if i ever get bored enough, I will try my hand at making skins. I have better things to do with my time than spend time matching stuff. I have the one body. I know i don't look like the uber-clone. (funny how many people are walking around looking exactly like their neighbor).  I don't change skin often (other than the fantasy skin), but I would like to update textures every time they improve and viewers get better and resolutions improve.  Other than that, I'm not a fashion plate.  I get a lot of compliments for my look.

  10. Help others. you will have friends.

Most of my friends are people I have helped or people who have helped me.  Or people interested in stuff I'm interested in. Usually, over time, it's both.

No one cares if you're expert in 'x' or the sharpest knife in the drawer.  They care if you can help them with the thing they need help with... or if you listen when they're trying to help you and can hold a conversation.

If you are kind, if you're not obnoxious, if you're interested in something they are interested in... if you're funny, but not at other people's expense.   If you don't ask them for friendship before you've had a conversation about SOMETHING.  If you don't ask for sex or money.

If you're not a needy, negative, creepy, stalkery person...

The bar in SL is actually relatively low.  Don't be a jerk.

    Bon Chance.

I took a hiatus from SL for about a year and recently i went to a shopping event and there were no tattoo appliers for Catwa mesh heads? With new products that are being offered, is there a way to apply skins and tattoos without transitioning to BOM? I spent alot of time and $ transitioning to mesh, finding the skin i wanted. I personally don't wish to use old tattoos and clothes. The resolution in mesh products far exceeds the look of older textures and clothes. Maybe it's just my perception of this. Sorry for my ignorance on this subject. Any assistance in how to use these new products without using BOM? My apologies if i posted this question in the wrong section in forums.

I won't fully address the how as others seem to have done that (the basics is below).  Don't feel bad about ignorance.  SL is change.  There's always something new and confusing.

    * I will simply say this. If you're happy with how you look, there's no reason to change. Don't let snobby people bully you.

    * If you have a whole wardrobe of applier based clothing, you may not want to go to BOM.  Not all of them have made BOM layers and some never will.  Some people really have favorite 'applier layer' clothes and make up and not all of it can be replaced.

You won't be able to wear BOM layer clothing on your non-BOM body, but you can keep wearing what you have on the body you have.

There are still people in SL wearing their original system skins (not BOM, not mesh). So do what YOU want!

Your reason for being in SL is YOUR reason. If you like applier clothing or if you have skin appliers you prefer and a look you like, you can keep wearing appliers as long as you have a compatible body/head that can use them.

    OPTION 'KEEP APPLIERS:

You can still buy older 'applier' (omega) based skins at places like LAQ in their discount section (which is upstairs of their store). As far as I am aware, you can still buy the omega relay for your particular body type (Slink, Maitreya, Belleza, etc.) on MP.

    OPTION 'BOM':

In those applier skin boxes, there's also a system skin (usually in a single shade) which you can use to see if you like BOM.  In most cases it's as simple as turning on BOM on newer bodies or heads... some heads/bodies offer a BOM 'applier' that you click on just like any other applier.  After you do this, your body will turn red, and you will know you have successfully converted to BOM.  (then you will need to remove your alpha layer that hid your body and head and your mesh body will now be wearing whatever base skin you have on (system or BOM)

After you turn on BOM, you simply wear a system skin or a BOM skin and/or a tattoo layer based skin (in inventory, skins look 'skin shaped' and tattoos are usually little red blobby things).

Bottom line: If you are going to want to change your look, you will need to buy BOM skins for use with newer BOM items.

Note: if you buy a newer head, your older BOM or system skin may not map correctly to the head... so, beware of that.

    Nostalgia Option:

Finally, if you have some clothing that is applier based, or make up that is applier based, you can still keep 'outfits' of your old body set up as it was even if you go to BOM.  That way, anytime you want to wear a special look that doesn't exist in BOM, you have your old body for that, already set up the way you like it.  I find saving outfits is really helpful with this.  I can find my original (or early days, anyway) avatar from when I first joined SL... In my case, I mostly looked like a dork, but I can still wear this anytime.  Since most of my early days were system, i have updated a lot of those old outfits that i loved to BOM and can now wear my old gowns again!

Why do you not want people knowing what items you are wearing?

If you copybotted something and you don't want people to know...  you may not want to put your name on something if you're selling it illegally.  that is the only reason I can think of. The wearer may not even know that what they bought was copybotted.

also possible it's a glitch.  Occasionally, when i run 'what is she wearing' i get randomness that doesn't make sense. Mostly it's helpful, however.

  13. where can I find simple male skin (not femboy) that isn't 'he man'?  Some of the old system skins are like this, but of course, they have system toes and fingers - and they are getting harder to find.  And of course, some are just old and crudely made.

Not every man wants to look like a body builder, angry ape or a sex worker.

    This is no longer possible.

You cannot comment on MP reviews anymore?  Interesting.  That is dumb. So no recourse anywhere? Sigh.

When I have an issue with someone, I write them IM AND copy that IM to a notecard - so they always get both.  Mostly I have gotten responses, but sometimes it's taken a negative review on MP.  if you buy stuff in store, however, there's no mechanism to review.  No idea what to do then.  And a lot of the non store groups don't want you to mention stuff about specific stores in their groups.  Seems as though it would serve their members.  I have no idea.  It's a free for all, I guess.  Grrr. Argh.

I hope you hear from the seller.

  15. I think what makes it a pain is that you need lessons to use your body in SL.

I just introduced a newbie to applying a mesh body and tried to help him get himself looking 'normal' and he found it stressful in the extreme.  He said "i think I just want to stick with the newbie body".

I think the endless complexifying will continue to discourage newbies who don't want to spend their entire lives chasing the perfect look.  It is fine if people want to have all these 'options' - though so many of them look like clones, I'm not sure they're understanding the idea of 'custom' all that well.

I like playing dress-up to some degree, but I actually find skin with brows and browless options (which is just two options) about all I need.  I have several different bodies and a dozen heads, and oddly, I'm able to wear my 'all in one' skins with these two options and look good... and not look like a clone person.  I've crafted looks for a few of my friends too.

Maybe it's not a money grab. I still believe it's one more bit of added complexity that makes SL feel more like work than needed.  If you're here for the dress up, then I suppose it doesn't matter.  If you're here for any other reason, then it is just one more hassle.

BOM was intended to simplify things.  It seems to me that it has just made things more complex while breaking all the (applier based) set ups that many people had put together and made work.   System worked until it didn't.  Then appliers worked until they didn't.  Now BOM is a mess and eventually it will be replaced by another mess if SL is still around.

This whole mess is nuts.  I think one day I may just put on an outfit and leave it on.  Same outfit, same hair, same skin... I used to wonder why some of the oldtimers I knew did this. Or just put on an animal body even if they didn't role play at all. It seemed so odd.  Now, I think I get it.  I like meeting people and making stuff.  I love looking nice, but i do not love chasing the perfect rainbow of ridiculous looks at ridiculous money and a half dozen little fixes for each thing.  I just want a little normalcy.  And this from a girl with blue hair.  Go figure.

  16. I really am finding it harder and harder to get anything for men that doesn't look like monster.  (I am trying to help another newcomer friend to set up his look in SL) Just as the women have these deformed enormous uglybotties and improbable hips, now the monster-man he-beast-body seems to have taken yet another level in ridiculousness.  If I saw a man who looked like this in real life, I'd RUN.

For whatever reason, the 'fashion' is to look like a sex monster.  I suppose this drives commerce so we're unlikely to find normal human looking body.  I'd like to update my old style body, but the newer bodies, even by people who used to make 'normal' looking bodies are more and more extreme and they are rigged so they pretty much are designed to be deformed.  I won't call it muscular b/c I've never seen any man or woman who looked like this in reality, though there's some body builders that aim for looks that are similar and some comic books that reflect this look.

Is there a place in SL for people who don't fetishize their bodies into utter unreality?  I already had to make myself ridiculously tall and am still asked why I'm short...  I would love to try my hand at making a 'normal body' but I think there's no one out there who wants to buy one.  Interestingly, nearly all the people I hang out with in SL want 'normal' looks.

You know.  Lean, fit looking and  slim with a little muscular definition... which is impossible to find for women and almost impossible to find for men. Women are supposed to be squishy and men are supposed to be apes.

    Sighs.

If they have a marketplace page and that hair has comments, you can add a comment to any review there (if you didn't buy it on marketplace, you can't write your own review) but you can comment on a review of the product if there are other reviews, and be detailed about what happened where and how and at least warn others.  I've seen sellers respond to these kinds of posts b/c they don't want the bad publicity.  No idea if it will work or if they have a marketplace.  Good luck.

  18. there is ONE vendor who has somehow set up his search parameters so that when you search for something like 'hijab' (a headscarf worn by observant Muslim women) you will see some of the most explicit sexual images I've ever seen in MP.  I cannot see what any of these rapes and forced acts and other really explicit images have to do with observant Muslim wear.  My only thought is that this person wants to offend anyone Muslim/modest/religious who might search for that term.

I think there should be a way to prevent this person from trolling people just because of their religion.  I am not a Muslim, but i found it deeply offensive.  (never mind that it's vile that MP has rape animations for sale, but I am not going to try to die on THAT hill).

I do think that this person is doing a nasty act by setting their search so that people who are looking for modest clothing are subjected to sexually explicit and violent images.

Note: (I checked full perm, as I am a maker of clothing) 62 items came up... 19 of them are sexual in natureAll are the same seller.  I cannot believe any of these RAPE and even DADDY animations have anything to do with Hijabs.

I wonder if the 'daddy' animation doesn't violate the SL TOS... that seems like it is very close to the line, but not a lawyer... but whatever it is, it seems like it should not come up in this search except as a form of hate speech.

I have no idea who to complain to.  There isn't a tag on the page anywhere that allows me to 'report this'.

If you search MP for Hijab (select copy, mod, transfer) you will see what I saw unless this person is reading this and removes it.  I did not approach them or visit their page.

I'm an adult, so I haven't turned off (and won't) the adult part of my MP. Sometimes I see very explicit things, though I generally don't search for them, usually they make sense in context of my search (skin, poses or furniture, for example). Live and let live, as long as people aren't harassed.

As a rule, I don't find explicit sex on pages likely to be visited by people who are religious.  I've never searched for Christmas or Easter items and found sexual material, though one does find skimpy Christmas outfits, there's no explicit, violent sex in several pages of searching. I believe this is an especially mean-spirited troll.

I hope there's a way to get this taken down.  There is simply no reason to put the term 'hijab' in your keywords for RAPE simulations  and other forced or 'daddy' kink.

As I said: ALL are same seller.  So this is clearly deliberate.  I didn't check for other religious/modesty oriented items to see if they are also listed.

i think you should look around a bit more, your statement is way to generalizing. It's possible to create other than causasian men quite easy.

Of course it is possible or i would not have done it. But easy? No. Availability of non ghetto looking black male skins for example is *not* easy.

There may be more Asian skins than I know as i am limited to sources in English, French or Spanish. I do not speak Chinese, Japanese or Korean. I do know AK offered an Asian male head, which is a good thing.

The fact us that the offerings are mostly European and what is not European skews hard toward stereotype.

White people are the default folk of SL. Not saying that's a good thing but it's what happens when the software is developed in the US, and mostly caters to English speakers. Literally 90% of the product ads by mainstream stores in SL feature a white woman/man. 9% might have a black person, the 1% are the other ethnicities like Asian or Mexican or something. I go to crowded sims often and that percentage is also what I see in avatars.

I'm not white, I'm Asian, and I feel disadvantaged or even discriminated against in pretty much everywhere in SL cause I refuse to make my avatar look like your garden variety (tanned) white woman with blonde or brown hair.

It is hard to find any non white avatar components, particularly ones that don't look stereotypical. It is even worse for males.  I have NEVER seen a decent Asian male avi.  I created a black male avi for a friend and that was so hard.  If i want to find a monstrous looking avi that is 'ghetto' they are a dime a dozen.  creating a male avi that looks human and is not white... that is a major undertaking.
