  1. Thank you so very much, I really appreciate it. I will find something that works. Cheers Bryn
  2. Thanks, Dres. I guess I have a lot to learn, I've only been in SL for a couple of days. I appreciate the advice. Mostly it is Demos I'm talking about, but I have purchased a couple pair of shoes that simply wont' work. I will keep a better eye out in the future. I know it is a bit much to ask, but is there a shop you could reccomend that has decent shoes for non-mesh feet? I don't have enough to afford slink yet, but I do have a couple hundred Linden (or whatever they are called). I just don't want to waste anymore money on stuff I can't wear. Thank you again, I appreciate the response. Bryn
  3. Ok, I have only seen that menu on one pair of shoes, but maybe I'm in the wrong area. How can I tell if I'm in the right area? Also, thank you, I'll give it a shot next time im am in world. Thank you so very much. Bryn
  4. Hello all, I've finally gotten my avatar set up to my liking (mostly), I plan on switching to mesh when I have the cash (payday needs to hurry up) but I've gotten some nice skins and modified a shape, and I look nice, I think. Anyway, it seems every time I try on shoes (especially boots) they are giant sized. I've tried to edit and resize them, but they won't go any smaller. The openings are generally larger than my legs and they look like clown shoes. I understand that serious shoe shoppers tend to use slink feet and until I can afford slink feet, I'm stuck with standard avi feet. Is there a way to resize shoes/boots? The only pair that seem reasonably sized are the free "girl next door" plain shoes from the library. I've recolored them a bit so they don't look so dreadful, but man, I really want some pretty shoes that don't look like boats, or being longer than my legs. Is my height an issue here? it seems to make any of them look OK, I have to set all height sliders to max and make myself kind of fat... am I just doing something wrong? I like being short, and I would have that slider set all the way down if things would fit properly with it. Any help at all would be appreciated, I just want to do a little shoe shopping and not feel sad. Thanks all, cheers and all that. Bryn
  5. Thank you so very much again, I appreciate it a ton. I'm not in world right now, but might be later on. You're amazing, and I really appreciate the help.
  6. Ok, and one last question, do I need to buy a shape and a skin? Or a complete avatar? Can I just make my own shape and add a skin? Thanks.
  7. On another note, if I purchase a shape/skin from the market, can I then later modify it? Just things like height and limb size etc? Or do I only get what has been made? Sorry for the questions, but like I said, I'm completely new.
  8. Thank you so much for the information, I really appreciate it. It seems I'll need to buy a new mesh avatar, I won't have any money to spend on this until next month, so was looking for something to use before then. You are correct that it is just the general jaggedness of the classic avatars that I dislike, I'll take a look around the shop though and see if there is something I would be OK with. Thank you again for the information, I truely appreciate it.
  9. Hello everyone, I just started Second Life, and so far it's pretty cool to run around and look at everything. I know there are events and such, but I'm still learning and all that. My problem is that I can't seem to find clothing that works with my avatar. I know it is easier if you use a "classic" avatar, but I don't care for any of them, even with all the adjustments I make. I've chosen the "Sara" avatar, and then modified height/weight and other things that I could modify. I have some hair I like and some accessories and such, but I can't seem to find any shoes/boots, pants/skirts, or tops that fit her without graphical problems. Like they will cover only a small part of her, or be floating somewhere odd, or not attach to the right part of the body. I've made her very short, so that may be one of the issues, I am not sure. I know that the avatar I'm using can only use "mesh" clothing, and that the little orange box icon is the only stuff I can wear. I also know how to unpack/open stuff and all of that... or at least I think I do. I've done several community tutorials, but still can't seem to figure it all out. Anyway, any suggestions or advice on what/where to look for clothing that would actually fit. I've looked into designing my own, but have not been successful thus far. Thank you for your time and help. Bryn
